Out of the three companies that I called only one to return phone call. They came out and told me what needed to be done and how much. I said I needed them to do the work on a Saturday. Told it would be three weeks. They came in got the job done within the time he told me. Liked the work.

He always replied to my emails in a timely fashion, came out and gave a fair estimate, and scheduled and completed the work as promised. Mom was pleased with his work, especially because both the inside and outside areas where the work was done was beautifully cleaned up. She said you couldn't even tell workers had been there!

We had to wait a couple of weeks longer than expected for the work to start, but we were not in a hurry, and they did a great job. We did have a small problem. A tube from our basement that led outside was covered up, which caused a leak in our basement. But we were easily able to resolve this problem.

They said they didn't pour parking spaces. And that makes me wonder just how different a parking space is from a driveway.

Excellent. Peter showed up on-time for the estimate. He was thorough in his evaluation of the job. He explained what he thought his guys should do and how long it would take. He was also very straight forward about the fact that his crew was not available immediately. He e-mailed me a specific estimate in a timely manner. We scheduled a start date. The crew arrived on-time. The crew chief was intelligent and well spoken. He made a point of introducing himself to the other crews working on the property and was able to negotiate time and space efficiently. The final product is beautiful.

They were prompt courteous and thoroughly professional as well as reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to recommend this firm to anyone.

Peter came out to provide the estimate. He was knowledgeable and competent. He confirmed my suspicions that the chimneys were too far gone to tuck-point and needed rebuilding. Peter said it would take about 6 weeks before they could get to it. His brother came out with his crew (total of about 3-5 men depending on the day). The work took 4 days to complete. Very satisfied. Excellent quality work. Took care to minimize damage to landscaping. Excellent cleanup. They also did some minor tuck-pointing at no additional cost.

Great. Peter was helpful on the phone, and informative when he came out to give me an estimate. This was a small job that other companies I called couldn't be bothered with, but Peter was respectful of the Angie's List association, and was very responsive. He told me right away that he'd be happy to do the job, but that they were scheduled 6 weeks out. I gave him a 50% deposit, and 6 weeks later I sent him an email asking how the schedule was looking. He called me back right away, and his brother and crew did the job two days later. Professional, left the site really clean, looks good.

It went very well. Peter was very responsive regarding the quote and all follow up work. They came on time (early actually) to do the work and were very accurate and the brick work was EXACTLY the correct measurement for the window and the matching brick and patch was perfect - I get comments from all the neighbors as to what a great job it was!

Peter and Voitek are running their father's company. Peter came out for an estimate, Voitek supervised the work. Both are excellent problem solvers with high IQ which makes it very easy and enjoyable to work with them. Spot tuckpointing on East and West walls required rope chairs and was subcontracted. The subcontractors missed a few sections on one side. Voitek had them redo these areas, no questions asked. The whole job took three days. Grout color was standard and matched perfectly. The clean up was done well. The most critical area (third floor of the North side) was ground completely and looks like new.

Overall they did a good job. They kept to their time frame. The quality of the job was good and the owner was easy to communicate to. He was responsive to my e-mails and phone calls.

They arrived on time did a great job and cleaned up nicely.

I had originally intended on tuckpointing the entire home but they felt that the repair of a few major cracks and the replacement of 2 lentals would be enough to last a few more years and then they would be happy to quote on the rest of the home. They also provided several options as to the type of tuckpointing work that I could have done if I wished. Underselling? What a novel concept. The other contractors I had bid on the work only quoted on what I asked and provided no additional options. They were able to perform the work within a week and had the whole project done in one day. All three crew staff were friendly and polite. I will use Star Tuckpointing again.

We ended up not doing the work now. Star Tuckpointing said we could probably wait a year or so (how often do you hear that?!) so we're going to wait till we have more money.

It went just fine. For several decades I used a Polish tuckpointer from Berwyn for my masonry needs. Unfortunately he passed away this past year so I needed a new tuckpointer. With the help of Angie's List, I decided on using Star. Peter returned my call in a timely manner. We made an appointment to review the project and he gave me an estimate on the spot. Later, he followed up with a written estimate/contract in the mail. Approx. 30 days after the estimate, I awarded Star the project. Peter indicated that it was a one day project and that they would get to it once the weather broke. Approx. 30 days after awarding the contract, the project was completed. It looks to me that they did a good job (after all, this is 30 feet off the ground). I indicated to Peter that I had some original bricks for my house (1937) in the garage should they need any bricks in the process of rebuilding the chimney. It seems they used a few of these bricks. I was not present when the work was completed.

They did a great job from start to finish. They were professional and took care of all of our needs. They did good work and we are planning to use them again.

Appointment to get estimate was easy to make, Peter came on time and explained all work and put it in writing with prices. Everything was done on time and the price was exactly as stated on the written proposal. Terms were 50% at signing and rest after completion.

Very responsive to initial phone inquiry. Provided estimate on site at time of first visit. No pressure to sign contract at the time. Required 50% deposit at time of contract which seems a little high. Performed work earlier than projected due to cancellation (might have been a longer wait than we would have liked otherwise). Overall, very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable.

They were extremely helpful and responsive, especially Peter. I had a tight deadline and they were able to complete the job on time. In addition, the work done looks great.

Peter came out late last fall to look at the job. He gave us a quote and took a $100 deposit. He said that they had to wait for the weather to warm up and for snow season to be over before they could do anything. He called earlier this week - the first good week of the year - and made an appointment to come out. The first appointment had to be rescheduled due to rain but they came the next day. I had to go to work and couldn't be home, but they said they didn't need me to be here. I got home from work while they were still here and they walked me all around the house, showed me everything they did, asked me if I had any questions or saw any more spots that needed attention, and generally performed the job professionally and efficiently. If every business performed like these guys, we wouldn't need Angie's List. Plus, it cost a lot less than we expected. We loved them!

It was excellent. They explained to me what they were going to do and they did it. They said that I had to hose down the areas worked on to remove the excess mortar, which I did. They were on time, clean and very efficient. I'm so glad that I contacted them.

The work was scheduled in a timely manner with the weather and the foreman on-site was very professional and good at keeping me updated throughout the progress of work. The work only took them one week to complete and the finished product looked very good!

Peter came to the house and gave an estimate on the spot within three days of my call. We had to wait for two months for Star to do the job because they were so busy. However, it was worth the wait. Peter supervised the job, which was done by two employees in about 2 1/2 hours. Although he had said that he would use one layer of common brick and a layer of cement block to fill the opening, he ended up using all common brick and didn't charge extra. The new tuckpointed bricks blend in beautifully with the surrounding ones. Workers cleaned up nicely inside and outside the house. Peter is personable and polite, very professional. We definitely would hire him again.

They gave me the best estimate and I would have hired them but they couldn't begin the work until spring and I needed to have the work done sooner. I spoke with Peter and he was very professional and I would have been very comfortable working with him. I would definitely consider this company for future projects.

We were pleased by the professionalism of Peter and Woijtech of Star. Peter gave us a quote on the spot after reviewing the property, while other contractors took much longer and required multiple phone calls. We decided to go with Star even though we had to wait weeks for them to initiate work. They started on the day they promised and finished the job in one day. Our chimney looks good. Woijtech (who was in charge of the work on site) was very professional and personable. The workers did a good job, with the exception of one small fiasco (they knocked glass into our basement), but Woijtech handled the situation well, and apologized instead of making excuses. Communication with the crew was very difficult, as none of them spoke any English; we had to rely on cell phone calls to Woijtech for any communication. Overall, we were happy with our experience.
