Peter was so responsive and helpful in indicating priorities and completing in a timely manner. They were very responsive to questions.

Team showed up when promised, did great work, and followed up with a "are you satisfied call." Old world tradesmen with old world values. Loved them! Their work is still holding up as expected 2 years later. Will hire again for another property.

After I informed them about masonry repairs I needed done to my home, they told me that they were busy and maybe December or next spring might be better. Complete shock,,, !

It went great, I have red facial bricks. They did a great job. Had 10 estimates, they were one of the higher ones but I believe you get for what you pay for. Ziggy and his crew did a excellent job.

My new storm door would not close properly because the door sill was uneven. Star Tuckpointing replaced the sill and now my door shuts perfectly. When they came out for an estimate, I asked them to look at the masonry and point out anything that may need repair. I also asked about chimney caps. I had a few estimates and recommendations from other companies so I could compare apples to apples, and Star came out on top. They were quite professional: provided detailed estimates, came out when they said they would, cleaned up all debris –even dust – afterwards, and did a fine job. Even the door company who came out to readjust my door commented on the nice concrete job. I would highly recommend them.

It turned out okay. They wound up doing a bigger job for me. I didn't care for the big deal because it sometimes is a switch and bait. I signed a contract with them last fall, but it didn't get done until this spring, and that is why it cost me more money because of water damage. That could have been avoided. They communicated well, they got the job done, and they did it in less time then they said, they had said it would take two days, but they did it in one day, and that is why I questioned the cost. They didn't take as long as they said it would get done, but they had two men working on it, so that may have made a difference as opposed to one person. I would suggest getting the number of work hours to get it done, so that way people are not estimating the price on the product but on the time to get it done. It should not have taken 6 months from schedule to getting the work done. They should have said that they could not do it this year. They said they would come and they came as scheduled. I would use them again but I know a lot more so I would be more armed than unarmed.

Three sides of my home are cinder block. Every ten years or so, I waterproof the surface. In addition I chose to fix a number of cracks in the mortar throughout the exterior walls. I solicited bids from three contractors. Star was not the low bid, but I believed they were the most knowledgeable and thorough in their assessment of the project. We discussed a tentative start date, they were able to start on time and end on time. Their crew was extremely professional. They arrived as committed and worked hard through out the project. They were thorough and cleaned up after the project was complete. A few weeks later I discovered a small 2x2 area that they missed. I called and they were back out in a few days to finish the task at hand. Overall, they were extremely professional and committed to the success of the project.

We have a very old house (140 years) and the foundation is brick o the inside. Several of the bricks are crumbling and we were concerned it would effect the integrity of the foundation. We has 3 brick masons provide estimates to repair the area. 2 provided us estimates (and very different approaches. When Star Tuckpointing looked at the area they said it would be fine for many years and their was no need to do a repair. They could see that the wall was 2 layers thick with brick going both across and into the walls and let us know that this provides sound support so we need not do anything. Really appreciate that they were honest and did not just quote us for the work. I know that Star will be my first choice for brick repair when needed in the future.

This is the second one they did for me. A little expensive but very well run, no hassles, and very clean for masonry work.

The owners, Peter and Voytek, were professional, and communication was great from start to finish. They explained the project to me down to the last detail, took care of the permitting process, and delivered on everything they promised. When the job was almost completed, I had a concern about some minor staining on the sides of the building that I probably should have talked to them about prior. To be clear, this staining was there before the project started, and was not addressed in the proposal. However, Voytek had his crew remove the stains at no extra charge. I recommend this company highly.

We have an old stone house and had all of the stone (including chimney) tuck pointed and are very pleased with the results. Star showed up on-time and worked diligently and thoroughly each day (with the whole job taking about 4 days). The guys were very professional and hard-working. Tuck pointing can be messy and dusty job but they managed it very well and it was not nearly at "difficult to endure" as I thought it would be. They made sure to have us approve the color and type of mortar and were responsive to any questions we had. The house looks great.

I couldn't be more pleased with the great job Star did on our house. The great reviews and recommendations they have are well deserved. The work was performed over a period of five days and the workers cleaned up and removed all materials and tools from the jobsite every night. After the job was complete I put my address on Google Earth to see the before and after comparison and was amazed, it looks like a brand new different house because of the mortar color change and chemical cleaning. It is worth the time to try to seek out the best qualified to perform the work on your house because a poor quality tuckpointing job can actually devalue your house because of appearance. Great company to deal with. Voitek was very professional, a good listener and very knowledgeable. We needed old brick size to blend well and he found them! The crew is very skilled and experienced. On time, work done quickly and thorough clean up. It was so pleasant and easy to work with all involved. We will certainly call them for any future jobs!

The work was done very efficiently, in good time, little disruption from the scaffolding at the front entrance, they honored our request to keep a gate closed to protect dogs from getting out, good clean-up. In short we were very pleased with the job in all aspects.

I own a bricks house ( my first home ) and I was concerned about the condition of the mortar . I scheduled an appointment with Star Tuckpointing . Peter arrived in time the day. We walked around the property while I was explaining my concerns. He taught me things about my house that I was not aware. I am not due for a tuck pointing for at least 3/5 years and he explained what to look for and monitor. I still asked for an estimate in order to have an idea of the cost to be ready one day. I would give my business to Peter blindfolded. Reviews are amazing , price is very good and THIS GUY IS HONEST. Not being expert I cold have been an easy target . Not in this case. I was very happy to deal with Peter. If you need to do manteincance to your masonry home give a chance to this company by interviewing them first.

The project was completed as was estimated. After a number of failed attempts by other masonry company's to solve water leaking into our 3rd floor living room we chose Star based on recommendations and excellent ratings by other Angie's List customers. We could not be happier with our decision to hire Star. The capstones were removed. New flashing was installed to ensure rain water would adequately run off. Then the capstones were re-installed and sealed. There was also some other re-pointing that was done. After several heavy rains Voytec paid a special followup visit to inspect the job and explain to me again what they did and how the mortar is now showing signs that the work was effective and working as designed. I give Star extra points for this kind of customer care.

What a great outfit. Everything was done in a timely and professional manner from the initial appointment for the estimate to the completion of work. Every detail of the job was explained and all questions answered prior to job start. Very clean work practices. Reasonably priced. Would reccommend to freinds and family.

I had used Star Tuckpointing before to rebuild one chimney. My neighbors home is very close to mine so I needed permission to put scaffolding in their yard. They were concerned because of previous damage they had received from other masonry contractors. I had to wait months to get scheduled but they were so clean thatI would use them again in a minute. THey were polite, prompt and cleaned up everything. I have used other masonry in the past and it was a nightmare because of the dust. Thank you Peter and Voytek!

Excellent. Looks good, and clean up was thorough. Delay in the middle of job due to weather, and they completed the job as soon as they were able. We never had a problem with responsiveness or answers to our questions. They were very straightforward in their dealings with us. Very pleased.
