had full tuckpointing of facade and 10 lintels replaced, staff was prompt and professional, price was on the mark, no suprises, and was reasonable based on many quotes, they showed up when they said there were going to and finished the work on-time, their work was pretty good, there were a few spots that could have been done better, but i suppose that might be normal, overall i was more than satisfied w/ the experience

Original appointment kept. Estimate was timely. Work was completed before originally planned. Follow-up inspection completed.

I highly recommend Startuckpointing. I had 3 estimates and Star was the middle but appeared to be very competent. Peter was punctual and professional in providing the estimate and scheduling the work. They were busy so the work was scheduled for 8 weeks out but it was not an emergency so that was no problem. On the project start date Voytek the project manager came out and did a detailed walk-through to discuss the scope of the work and to answer questions. They came out daily after that for about a week and the work was well done. The bricks looked nice, including a semi-curved wall, and given the size of the project I thought the price was very fair. Overall they appeared to be a well-organized and professional operation.

I got three bids, and Star Tuckpointing had the highest BUT they were also the only ones to identify a problem with my kneewall and explained the consequences (for the stairs) of not solving that problem. Although there were a few instances of communication problems, the company MORE than made up for the frustrations caused by the lack of communication. They say they are committed to providing great customer service, and their response to my frustrations tells me that they truly are. I will definitely go back to them if I need additional work on other parts of my house.

Star Tuckpointing started when they said they would, arrived punctually every day, handled items on contarct with experience and efficiency. An unexpected condition was exposed in an area, and Star handled themselves very fairly and upfront in handling the unexpected condition. Star did minor roof repair that was necessary to handle unexpected condition, and did it well. Job completed in scheduled time.

They are excellent. They are on time and clean up after themselves every day. I am very pleased with them.

Peter promptly gave written quotes last fall. We scheduled work for this spring. Voytek, Peter's brother, was my main contact on the job and was very good to work with. We changed the scope of the work from the quotes and all was performed promptly. Installing 2 deadbolt locks was overlooked on two doors, but was recently completed. I will use them again and would recommend Star.

We needed our house tuckpointed, so we decided to use the great resource of Angie's List. We wanted to get a variety of companies, so we chose two with many great reviews, and a two with about ten great reviews. This way we figured, maybe we would be catching a company on the rise with on of the two smaller companies. After meeting with the four companies and doing extensive follow ups with all of them we decided to select Star Tuckpointing. Peter came out for the estimate and was very informative. We didn’t feel that he was trying to up-sell us on things that we did not need. The quote was comprehensive, and they always got back to us promptly with answers to our questions. He informed us that in addition to the tuckpointing, we needed our chimney and parapets to be rebuilt on the building. This would prevent us from having to make additional repairs in 5 years, which would be likely if we only tuckpointed. Five years ago we had the chimney tuckpointed and the joints are falling out, I wish the previous contractor we used would have told us this. We were put on the list to schedule the work. At the time we signed the contract they said they were scheduling about 6-8 weeks out which we were ok with. At the 6 week range we received a call telling us that they are looking at scheduling our project for next week and were asked if that week would work for us. We pointed to a couple of days during that week that would work better for us than others, and they said that they would try to accommodate our request. They were able to accommodate our request for one of the days during that week. We met Voytek on the first day. He went over the project with us, and made sure that we understood all that was going to be done. He told us that he will leave samples of mortar color for us to choose from. They began on the rebuilt. We have a neighbor on one side that is a bit difficult to deal with, and I spoke to him when we knew that this work was going to occur. I asked Voytek speak to him on the first day to put him at ease with what was going to be happening. He did it with a smile on his face. The crew cleaned up after themselves each day and work looked great. The color we picked out matched was done neat. Star was very available to answer any questions we had during the project. At the project completion, I was asked to walk through and make sure that everything was done as expected. EVERYTHING WAS GREAT! We feel that we made the right decision in selecting Star Tuckpointing. What a pleasure.

Our 3-flat building has leaks coming in the front windows on two floors. The description on the work to be done on the day he came out was to tuckpoint the complete front of the building & he would send an estimate for parts of the job & for the complete job. Three weeks later we received an estimate to rebuild the chimney and to do spot-tuckpointing on the opposite side of the building. When I called to question the discrepancies I was told he couldn't remember what the work to be done was because it was three weeks ago.

Overall, they did a great job. We communicated some in email and some by phone. Star was willing to refine the work proposal in areas where it wasn't clear and we chose materials one grade higher for a longer guarantee. Our only disappointment was that the workers did not lay down tarps where they mixed the sealer on our side walk so there are stains that show up when it rains. Our wooden porch also was not covered. Those stains have worn away after a winter of snow and rain. They apologized. This company is run by two brothers who are very committed to customer satisfaction and are patient in describing the work needed and processes. It is helpful to know that we had quotes from 3 companies that were all over the place on price. One was as much as 4x this final bid. Star did the work by repelling down the side of our building. One of the companies argued that building a scaffold allows for the workers to do a better job. We decided this was not an important issue for us and opted for the lower price (that did not include the labor of building a scaffold) and will see how well the work hold up to it's 4-year warranty. I highly recommend Star Tuckpointing with confidence.

Star (Voytek) was easy to work with. We had some scheduling issues (other work being done), which Voytek was able to work around. The crew was conscientious, and worked long days (2+). They came a day early to apply a sample of three different mortar color options to help us select the right one. They cleaned up after themselves spending at least one hour in the process each day. Voytek was very responsive to our questions, and always answered his cell phone. We are very pleased and would certainly recommend them.

Worked out great. They were one of three companies that I researched via Angies List. They weren't the cheapest bid but I appreciated the professionalism and punctuality that Peter showed. After agreeing on the contract he gave me a start date that was about 4 weeks out from the date of the down-payment. He started right on time. Voytek was the project manager assigned to the site. He met me the day before the start, we went over the job and I showed him two other small projects that I wanted him to work on. He gave me ballpark quotes for the extra projects which I agreed to and then came back with lower actual amounts once they got into the work, that was great. They had a three-man crew working the job and they did great as well. The lintel work took about a week and cost $500 per window. The extra work was done mostly during this time. Overall a great experience.

We had water coming into the building from masonry cracks in the brick and capstones of our apartment building. Star came out, looked at the building and advised us that we only really needed to completely grind and tuckpoint only the northface of the building and only the top 4 feet. They did a great job, and spot tuckpointed the rest of the whole building. Peter came out to do the assessment and his brother Voytek did the site management. I was really impressed with their attention to detail, customer satisfaction (Voytek spent a lot of time with us before the work began, during the process and afterwards as well), and overall quality of work. The site crew were friendly. Ask for Greg to be on your job - the guy is 100% smiles and 100% about doing the job right. It was a pleasure having them work on the building. They went beyond the call of duty patching trouble areas they found on my roof and doing some masonry areas that were not covered in the original work description for no extra charge. When the job was finished, they were extremely accommodating in fixing various spots. Once they left, I found another spot on the deck that we had overlooked on the walk through. Voytek said, no problem that he would be out to fix it as soon as possible. That is service. With work quality this high, you almost wish you had more work for them to do. 110% satisfied!

The workers at Star were very knowledgeable. They were very accommodating and flexible with their scheduling. Their pricing was very fair to me. I really trust them.

I arranged for work last fall but the weather closed in. They came once the weather cleared. They matched the grout very closely. They left the area neat and clean. Work was finished in a day and a half and they made sure I was satisfied with what they had done.

Got their bid, paid a deposit. They said 4 to 6 weeks, came in about 5. I asked about taking care of the landscaping and they said they would and tied up the bushes and did minimal damage to the plants. You could barely tell they were here. Came on a Friday - rained at noon - came back on Saturday and finished chimney, cap on Monday. Voytek the crew leader was very personable and explained everything they would do when we met the first morning. They followed through on everything. An overall pleasant experience.

They have done numerous things for me. They are very thorough and competent. They are timely. They are a great mason. They are very competitive.

GREAT!! The company came out, gave us an estimate and then gave us a start date. The only negative was that we had to wait about 4 weeks for the job to begin but it was worth the wait. They came out on a Thursday, did all the work and returned 2 days later to remove the concrete forms and finish caulking. (They would have returned the next day but it was pouring.) They totally cleaned up after themselves and did a beautiful job. They were also very easy to work with and were patient with repeated phone calls from me asking more details about the job. We also saved money because of the Angie's List coupon.

I will always use this company even though their schedules are full and there is a wait once the agreement is signed. They are a famiy owned business, very professional, and their work is exceptional.

This company was great. Though weather delayed the work a few days from its originally scheduled start date, they were on site bright and early the first non-rainy morning and began work immediately, working straight through the day and ultimately completing it in a single day, rather than the two days originally anticipated. They cleaned the site thoroughly before leaving and were very professional and polite throughout the days' work.

The tuckpointing is for a brick wall. They came over to the house, looked around, and pointed out certain things to me. I don't know what kind of a job they are going to do.
