Great! Quality removal of wallpaper and paint was perfect

Our plaster ceiling was cracked, and starting to sag. Since we were going to have to remove all the furniture from the room to repair the ceiling, we decided to remove the wallpaper at the same time and have the walls prepared so we could paint them. Paul gave us a very reasonable estimate and we decided to have him do the work. His workers were prompt, polite, and fastidious. They arrived on time each day, and cleaned up each day as well. When the work was completed, they thoroughly cleaned the area. Paul gave us an accurate estimate for how long the work would take. The room now looks great, and we are very satisfied with the work Paul and his people did. We would recommend them, and we would hire them again.

The estimate for large master bedroom with high cathedral ceiling was similar to other painting contractors' estimates. The crew arrived on time, covered carpeted surfaces & removed furniture from room. They removed outlet and switch covers, repaired nicks, taped edges, covered ceiling fan blades and applied 2 coats of requested paint type and color. Beautiful job done quickly and professionally.

Paul Schmidt, the owner, came out at the time we decided to see what needed to be done. Within the next few days, I received an itemized estimate in the mail. I then contracted his company to do the work. On the morning the work was to begin, his worker was parked in front of my home 15 minutes before the time we had agreed upon. When I went out to tell him that he could start earlier, he impressed me when he told me that he always arrives a little early rather than late. He worked deligently until his portion of the work was finished. The following day, Paul arrived to hang the wallpaper himself. I was totally happy with the completed project, as well as, the fact that they did not leave one speck of dust, dirt or debris behind them. I am planning to have this family owned company do additional work for me and would highly recommend them.

Schmidt and Co. Painting and Decorating went above and beyond our expectations. We hired them initially to paint 3 full bedrooms which were in dire need of major plastering due to water damage. They originally quoted 3 days to complete, however, they finished in two days. The work was exceptional. We then decided to hire them to paint a wood joisted basement ceiling and entryway which was a daunting task. They finished in two days and the job was amazing. Now we have a bright basement which was once dark and dank. We found Schmidt and Co exceptional painters and will recommend them to friends and relatives who are looking for top-notch results.

The service was excellent. My walls were a mess after taking down 2 layers of wallpaper. They smoothed the walls very well. They were very careful to keep the area clean and to clean up afterwards. The paint job was wonderful.

I had removed wallpaper from the walls going to my basement. I then remembered how bad it looked, someone had finished this area, who did not know what they were doing and the 54 year old house had some seadling. They were a half hour early of 9 a.m., when to work pronto. The worker that was left, plastered, sanded and filled cracks and holes. The second day, more sanding and the primer applied. Odor was not too bad. The third day the first coat of paint was applied and on Saturday, Mr Schmidt came and applied the final coat. I now have beautiful even walls. Wish I'd done this long ago.

Returned call very promptly, very professional. They were very honest, indicating they wouldn't be able to start the job for at least 6 weeks. I was in a hurry, so I went with some else. But I appreciated the rapid response and honesty, so would consider them for the future.

We just bought a house with a horrible color scheme and old wallpaper in two stairwells. My mother recommended Paul Schmidt to me whom she had worked with a couple times. He came to my house and took lots of notes on the work I needed done and I received a quote in the mail 3 days later. The price seemed extremely fair for all the work we were having done. So we signed the quote and sent it back with our down payment which was a third of the price of the job. We were scheduled within a few weeks of the quote. Five men, including Paul, showed up promptly at 8 AM the first day, painting two large bedrooms both with accent walls and stripping the wallpaper in our two stairwells. The second day two men were here, one being Paul, and they added plaster to the walls in the stairwell and painted a large kitchen plus ceiling with patching and paneling (which they primed and painted). The third day, two men were here sanding the stairwell and painting the bathroom walls and ceiling. On the fourth and last day, three were here, one being Paul, and they painted the stairwells and living room and touched up the bathroom. They finished up early in the afternoon. Every morning they showed up promptly at 8AM and spent the first half hour prepping with drop cloths. Then they painted until about 3:30 and cleaned until about 4PM. They finished the job today and other than the walls looking amazing, you can't tell I had tradesman in my home. They were SUPER CLEAN, THOROUGH AND FAST! The owner, Paul, was hands-on and very involved. He made sure everything was done well and his right-hand man, John (whom was present every day), was equally as attentive to detail. The price was exactly what we agreed on even though removing the wallpaper was probably a bigger job than everyone expected. The entire crew was friendly and respectful to my home. I work from home and they didn't hinder my ability to work in the least. This is a great company to work with and I'll be recommending them to my friends and family.
