The owners of Samamco, Dan and Tommie, were very helpful in all phases of the demo and installation. I found them to be trustworthy owners who did what they said they would do. I was a bit overwhelmed at the process, and they gave me guidance in making decisions. They had excellent ideas on redoing the shower, vanity, mirrors, and tub tile. Richard, Henry, and later Robert are hardworking, skilled professionals who worked long days and finished the work withing the two-week estimate. I very happy with my new bathroom and highly recommend this company.

Dan was a complete pleasure to work with. He was always available to address any concerns and very helpful in selection of materials and fixtures. He made what could have been a difficult and complex process very simple. All work was done expeditiously and the quality of the work is excellent. He really transformed my master bath and made the entire first floor much more functional and attractive. I am so pleased with the result that I am already planning my next project with Samanco.

Results are amazing! Photo below does not show the wonderful vanity top and light, but hopefully you can see quality of the work. (Cats photo bomb everything!) I have never arranged for this type of work, so was not sure what to expect. Would a large crew come in and demolish everything with sledge hammers, and then rebuild from scratch, since the bathroom needed to be completely gutted? No, and thank goodness, no! In an older home it was important to analyze what was being uncovered, so two people carefully removed everything down to the studs - walls, ceiling, and floor - over a couple of days. This way any additional wood that needed replacement was recognized. Rebuilding was just as careful, with care taken to install each new layer with careful precision. One person, Robert, came daily, and only occasionally brought an assistant. I was not present throughout the work, but I was there often enough to recognize that Robert is a master craftsman for this type of work, with an old school work ethic to take pride in doing quality work. The entire project included rebuilding floor, walls, and ceiling; installing new ceiling fan, vanity, sink, toilet, tub, lights, and fixtures; installing new closet and bathroom doors, and installing a new window. It took three weeks to complete, which was no problem, because I would not have wanted quality to be compromised. I love the result! Btw, approximate cost here is only for labor and building materials. Samanco offers customers the option to purchase their own bathroom features, such as vanity, sink, tub, toilet, tile, ceiling fan, and fixtures, in order to control costs to some extent in this area. While they would have purchased these materials for me, I readily agreed to the offer and really enjoyed selecting my own color scheme and design. I shopped for bargains in local stores, without sacrificing quality, and my additional cost in this area was about $2500. Also I had some other work done, including a repair to the kitchen ceiling, which turned out very well, but I did not include in cost, in order to focus on bathroom work in this review. My conclusion is I am glad I chose Samanco, and will likely hire them again for future projects. Dan Gbur is the main contact person who is probably pulled in all directions daily, but he was often on site, and always seemed fair and honest. It's a good company with good people!

Unbelievably better than I could have imagined! I had no clue what I was doing but Dan gently guided me along the way. Robert and Patryk made it all happen plus They were so respectful of us and our home. Biggest project we've done in 26 years here and I will never search for another interior contractor as long as we live here.

Dan Gbur was very helpful and responsive. He went the extra mile both in casting vision, and acquiring materials in over-the-top ways to stay within our budget requirements. He was flexible in being willing to leave some of the finishing work to me (a kind-of DIY guy). The crew's (Richard and Henry) work was great. Everything done very well. I have recommended Samanco already and will continue to.

I had a terrible experience with a previous contractor who left me with shoddy work so idiotic that it caused me emotional and financial stress. I wish I could post before and after pictures on here because words cannot describe the terrible situation I was in. I was in tears when I met with Dan for the initial estimate. From the beginning, Dan was prompt, responsive and addressed my concerns. He was the project manager and scheduled the crews in a timely fashion. They refinished my floors in two days which looks absolutely beautiful now. There were other issues I noticed and pointed them out to Dan. It was not in the initial estimate and he did not nickel and dime me for it. The experience with Samanco was so great, I would not hesitate to call them again when I’m ready to fix my bathroom and kitchen. My only regret is not going with them in the first place because there are some things the old contractor did that could not be fixed. Thank you Dan and your team! I will be sure to recommend you to friends and family in the future.

The Samanco Construction Team is five stars! The quality of the work is outstanding and their attention to detail is amazing. They were always on time and also keep things very clean throughout the process. We HIGHLY recommend them!

These guys were great. I first hired them to fix a leak in the shower. Dan suggested a cost efficient solution, and his crew fixed it exactly as they said they would. A few weeks later when we were abroad, a couple of frozen pipes burst in the house. Dan managed to get a crew to the house (on New Year's Eve!) to shut off the water and thus limit the damage. A few days later his crew came to replace the pipes and restore everything to new. The bottom line is that these guys are amazing. I will use them again for all future work.

Dan and Max are very professional and attentive to their work. . The first job I hired them to do was my kitchen floor, water heater replacement and living room ceiling. When I was getting my kitchen/laundry room floor tiled, I was very concerned as to how the floor trap door to the crawlspace would look once it was tiled. I shouldn't have worried. They used metal edging and then tiled it and it looks beautiful. I hired them a second time to do my bathroom floor and they did another great job. I will definitely hire them again if I need any work done in the future.

Excellent. Very easy to deal with from the contract stage through the final walk through. We rejected other contractors we interviewed because they were pushy. The team was led by Will, who great. He was able to adapt to some minor changes we asked for during the job. All the workers were hardworking and professional throughout. They finished on time and provided good advice on certain decisions we were struggling with like where to place the grab bars or the tub surround accent tile. Would recommend without hesitation.

The work went very well. Done in 3.5 days. No extra costs or expenses. Very polite and professional.

Awesome experience from our first meeting with Dan to the completion of the job. His workers were punctual and meticulously clean. They cleaned up everyday, always made sure where we wanted placement of bars, bench and racks. This remodeling job was painless, I would recommend Dan and Samanco Limited to everyone. Dave and Robert from Samanco were fantastic on our bathroom remodel. We have a 100-year old graystone, and the bathroom had last been updated in the 80s so there was much work to be done. We did a full gut rehab, took about 3 weeks total with just one worker completing the task. We ran into a few more issues once opening the walls - needed to redo the toilet stack as it crumbling apart in some spots. That added a bit of extra time, but glad we found it it fix it. Fantastic work and would definitely hire them for other projects.

Dave, the representative was very friendly, engaging, and helpful in making recommendations for the upgrade of our kitchen. He gave us full assurance that the job would be done promptly and professionally. He assured us that the job would not be a problem and it wasn't. The workers were very friendly and engaging. They were highly skilled and very professional. They did an excellent job in cleaning as they went and upon completion of the project. The experience was unusually satisfying. They did a remarkable timely job and we are very pleased.

I've lived in Chicago 25 years (and been a single family home owner for 16) and wouldn't trust my contracting needs to anyone else than Dan and his team (and I tried many before them over the years). Responsive, professional, friendly, quality craftsmanship, and feasible are just some of the adjectives I would use to describe Samanco. So happy to have a contractor in my "back pocket" As they say in Chicago, "I gotta Guy" (finally)

Samanco has been my go-to source for projects large and small since 2011, when they gutted and remodeled my bathroom. They've replaced my roof and done numerous odd repairs around the house (shoring up old termite damage in the garage, replacing a giant picture window in my dining room, to name a few). I've recommended them several times to friends in the area that ultimately decided to look elsewhere because estimates can be on the high side...but in my opinion, you get what you pay for, and these guys are worth every penny. Another reviewer used the word meticulous, and I wholeheartedly second that assessment. The project this time was a remodel of my kitchen. Goodbye yellow plastic tile, ugly linoleum, fluorescent lighting, and tiny prep sink. Dan came and we talked through my options...it was important to me to keep the upper cabinets because they were in really good shape and I have a problem replacing things that don't need replacing (they just looked a little dated, along with the rest of the kitchen)...but I needed new lower cabinets because I was getting rid of old custom appliances that weren't fully functional, and that meant the lower cabinet configuration would have to change to accommodate new standard-sized appliances. The solution (and Dan's recommendation) was to put in a lower cabinet in a contrasting color...an idea I loved. I was able to find a backsplash that tied the upper and lower cabinets together, and it worked...(but unsurprisingly, when you surround old cabinets with new everything else, the uppers started to look really dingy in comparison, so I've already started to refinish them...but that is a project I'm tackling myself because I want to get my own hands on a part of the transformation of my kitchen) Another big feature of this project was the opening up of the wall between the kitchen and dining room. In place of the wall is a peninsula with lots of storage...My house is now much more open from front to back, and I love it! Finally, the last big hurdle of this project was the discovery of some pretty urgent electrical wiring issues. (Not a complete surprise to me, by the way...I just didn't know how bad it really was) They updated the panel and completed a re-wiring of the house...and Dan's estimate for the cost of that additional work was in line with what my research told me I should expect for a task of that scope, so now, not only do I have a beautiful kitchen, but I can sleep more soundly knowing that my electrical systems are running safely and effectively. The whole project took about 4 weeks start to finish. I came home from work every day excited to see what was new in the progression of my kitchen transformation. If there were questions that came up during the day, they would go over them with me before they left (or Dan would communicate via email.) As a single homeowner who works and therefore couldn't be at home as much of the work was happening, I felt fully informed at each stage of the project. Moreover, I never felt like I HAD to be home to oversee anything...I trust Dan (and by extension, his workers) that much. I always expect Dan and Samanco to produce top-notch results...and they always deliver.

They came when they were supposed, they looked around, you know, and gave me an estimate, and wrote it out and sent it to me. He was very professional. Very competitive.

Great! Two gentlemen came each day very punctual and worked full days. Along the way they would check with us to confirm various things and to point out any issues and describe how they would fix it. The project manager would check in regularly to make sure all was going well and was always readily available when needed. I was amazed with how quickly they completed the job. They also did a great job cleaning up all along the way.

Originally, we just wanted a basic entrance way closet transformed into a mud room. Instead, we decided to tear down a wall and make it a full entrance to our back sun room. The results are breathtaking. Brand new tile was laid, complete with new lighting, a bench and hooks. I can't describe how incredible this new project looks. We added a new room in our basement, and it will be the perfect space for our daughter. New fixtures and lighting was added and the difference is amazing. The project results exceeded our expectations. We are so happy with the outcome. But, I think the most important aspect when getting work done in your home is you trust who is doing the work. These projects in our home took roughly three weeks or so. Therefore, the guys spent a lot of time here. They were the most professional, reliable and TRUSTWORTHY workers we have had in our home to do work. Tom and Jerry showed up every single day on time, explained thoroughly what the daily tasks were, and I never felt out of the loop with anything that was taking place. Dan consistently stopped in to check up on things, answer questions, and was always on top of everything. During this renovation, my family and I had a vacation planned out of the country. I felt completely at ease having Tom and Jerry in our home working while we were gone. Again, they are completely reliable and trustworthy! I can't express it enough!! They made sure to clean up after work each day, and never left a mess behind. My husband and I plan on hiring this company again for future projects. I even spoke to Dan today about future plans and would like to have Tom and Jerry back again to complete the work. I have referred several friends because we are so happy! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Samanco Construction!!!!

It was a good experience. I think I felt comfortable with the estimator. They sent me a written estimate. I had to put the project on hold. They were very professional. The price they quoted me was reasonable. He was responsive, we set a time, we met. He got back with me with a written estimate. He was patient. He explained the work that needed to be done. The price was pretty competitive.

I truly cannot say enough good things about Samanco, Dan or his crews. From the moment I first contacted Dan he has been responsive, punctual and very respectful of my time and my schedule. The Samanco team has completed multiple projects in my home over the course of the past 6 months- big and small- and in each and every case the crew was respectful and the quality of work outstanding. There is no other word to describe their attention to detail other than meticulous. I have a busy schedule and Dan and his crews were very helpful in getting material when needed to keep a project moving when I wasn't able to get out of work to get it myself. They're also extremely consciousness so when something in the design I choose didn't look right to them they would call me/show me rather than just completing the work with a blind eye. This was very helpful in more than one situation and ended up saving me time and money on materials. I have renovated my kitchen, a 1/2 bath and a full guest bath with Samanco and will continue to work with them on my master bath in the near future.
