RUFINO PAINTING

Raul and his crew began work on Friday promptly at 7:30 AM and began the extensive prep work before the painting could even start. My house has plaster in the older part and there were cracks and wear that they addressed beautifully, returning the surface to its original look. In the other room, there were some dry wall patches that needed to be fixed after a plumbing incident left some damage. They repaired the cut-outs expertly leaving no sign of the previous damage. Once all the plaster and dry wall repair were dry and ready to be painted, the team got down to painting. Ceilings, crown and picture moldings, doors, and walls were painted with two coats over two days. The expertise of the guys was amazing. Everything was taped and protected including floors and stairs that were not being painted but were in the traffic pattern between rooms. Furniture placed in the rooms centers was covered and all fixtures were removed and later replaced perfectly. The job went as smooth as silk and was finished in one and one-half days with a crew of four the first day and two the second. The guys are super clean and careful with their work. Raul and his crew are true professionals and are always courteous and polite and conscious with our two dogs. Their work is top-shelf and I would and will use them again. I highly recommend Rufino Painting to anyone looking for a wonderful painting team.

Raul stopped by shortly after I called him. We talked through everything that needed to get done -- he's very thorough in planning -- and agreed on a price. They spent a day preparing the basement...there was quite a bit of peeling paint and lots of cleaning to do prior to painting. Their work was excellent. When we made a mistake on one of the colors we'd given them, they quickly made the correction and repainted. And they did a particularly good job dealing with all the weird crevices in the tile walls, and wires in the ceiling -- which had to have a been a real pain to paint nicely. Very happy with their work. And the team is polite and hard working.

Raul is very punctual. He came to my house, took a look at what I wanted to have done and then he gave me an estimate. Later he brought over a contract that we both signed. Then we set up a date for he and his crew to paint. The paint job only took one day per room. Rufino painters did an impeccable job.

Raul came, listened, was not afraid to tell us his opinion, but most importantly, he listened to understand what we wanted to do. Raul and his crew had to remove years of cracked paint from exterior of windows to basement, as well as build up some portions of wood with wood putty where squirrels had been nibbling on the window frames. They showed up on time, were honest, did a quality job, and even with her very high standards, my wife had no complaints. The job looks like a pro did it.

From the start - Raul came to give me an estimate - I got 3 - he was "dead center" pricewise but what impressed me was his knowledge and his obvious passion for what he does. The other 2 contractors made NO suggestions, just looked at the job and quoted a price. Raul had many suggestions as to how to deal with the various issues in the rooms. He kept me posted via e-mail and phone as to when he could start, and estimated 8 working days. From start to finish it was actually 6 working days (long days) and the finished product is all we hoped for. He and his brothers do BEAUTIFUL work and are respectful of property and our time. I will DEFINITELY use them again - no question. They do the finest work; I've had several painters in the past and NO one who could compare.

This was the second time we used Raul and is company. We used them a year ago for a small job and we decided to ONLY call them when it was time to repaint most of the interior of our house (this job). We knew the quality would be good and the price was reasonable, so we chose to not bid-out this large job. His staff is wonderful - conscientious, friendly and great attitudes. Their prep work is meticulous and thorough resulting in our woodwork and cabinetry looking like it has a smooth laquer finish. Their clean-up was great. They arrived on time every day and completed the job in the amount of time they estimated. I will use them again. These guys are worth every penny, and we recommend them without reservations.

Raul and his crew did a superb job. They were incredibly responsive, did some additional patching work beyond the contract (and on their dime), and left the unit spotless. I think Rufino may be a shade more expensive than some other companies, but the quality of the job, the quality of the paint, and the responsiveness justified every penny. I would happily use them again and recommend them highly to others who are looking for a top-notch paint job.

The garage was in drastic need of painting. His staff hand scraped loose peeling paint, primed all bare wood areas, caulked appropriate areas, and applied exterior acrylic paint. When finished the garage looked very professional. Not a trace of old paint chips anywhere on the ground. The front shutters, fascia around the house, and front iron railings badly needed repair. Again, they were done in a professional manner. The house also needed hardwood flooring restoration. This restoration covered living, room, dining room, stairs going to bedrooms on second floor, and bedrooms on second floor. He new of a contactor that does professional hardwood restoration. His sub-contactor cleaned the floors for sanding, removed damaged hardwood, installed new hardwood, sanded the floors, and applied a light stain on the hardwood floors. Once the hardwood floors were completed. the final paint coating was applied on all the walls. All the prep and final paint work , needed plastering, was well done. Site was left clean every day. When the job was completed, the light stain on the hardwood floors complemented the new painted walls very well. The house looks terrific. Recognition must be given for the job well done by Rufino Painting.

We contacted Rufino Painting with a rush request to paint our large dining room a few days prior to a party we planned to throw. Raul Rufino promptly came out to give us an estimate. He was happy to discuss the job in detail and at my request even offered suggestions for paint color. Raul described they are a family business and he himself and his family would be doing the job. Though we had to make a quick decision, we were comfortable based on Raul's estimate visit to choose Rufino Painting. We chose and communicated a paint color to Raul who said they would pick up the paint and bring it with them on their scheduled work day. As the day quickly approached we realized there was additional pre-paint work needing done in terms of removing 2 ceiling can lights and their controlling switch. Raul took this change in stride and even suggested an electrician we could contact on short notice. This tightened up the schedule even more as now Raul had to patch the drywall where the lighting was removed before they could paint. He modified his estimate fairly and we moved on. On their scheduled work day, they arrived on time. They took care covering the entire floor, furniture and ceiling light fixture. As soon as the electrician was done they patched the drywall and proceeded to pre-sand the walls and ceiling for a better final finish. When the repairs were dry, they painted the entire room and give special attention to the quirks and unevenness of our 120 year old home. They hand cut-in around all the trim and made the existing corners and trim lines much straighter than before - all without the use of tape. I am a particular person and Raul wasn't annoyed with my few observations and special requests for specific areas in the room. In at least one case they simply hadn't yet gotten to the point of doing what I was requesting. Our room was completed in record time from estimate to finish (even with the curve ball electric bit thrown in) and turned out beautiful. Now we're saving our money in contemplation of phoning Rufino again to paint our kitchen.

Great. They came in when they said. Were done under the estimated time and they were really cleaned everything up.

The job went well. I have used Rufino Painting on several other jobs so I knew what to expect. I had some issues but Raul was willing to fix those issues to my safisfaction. The finished product looked excellent.

On our recommendation, my inlaws called Rufino. Rufino got paint samples that my my inlaws selected to show them how the color would look before purchasing. Then, at my inlaws request, Raul selected other colors that they LOVED. The room was transformed and updated by better selection of color. They were very very careful-no paint dripped on the white cabinets or newly refinished floor. They showed up early, left left, communicated well, did exactly what they said they would and MORE. They made my inlaws happy!!! Rufino never ceases to amaze me. They are the best.

It went wonderfully. We recently had new hardwood floors put in on the first floor and new carpet upstairs which did not suffer any consequences. We scheduled it so that we would be out of town when the painting occurred and I felt completely confident in giving my keys to Raul. Raul called me on a couple of occasions to clarify what color went where which I really appreciated. They were finished a bit early as I assume not being in the house gave them more flexibility to work longer in the evening. The original quote was less than what we paid, but we had additional painting that needed to be done after the quote was given (construction!). I was able to pre-purchase my paint from a local retailer where they shop so I could use their discount which was great. We have had numerous compliments on the job done as it looks super. Their quote was a full $1000 less than a competitor. Yay!

There was a flood in a condo I was renting, and after the association had finished the main work, I needed a painter to paint the walls quickly to get my renter back to normal after this ordeal that had taken weeks to ocmplete. Rufino met me the day after I called (helped me match the paint color) and completed the work the day after that. It was very well done, and really helped me out. Great work.

They do a lot of painting in our neighborhood. They are not the cheapest or the most expensive. They are reasonably priced. They perform quality work and are very good. They are very clear about what they are going to do. They don?t change their bids like other people do. If we are not happy with something they would work with us to fix it till we are happy.

Very well. They did a great job in a short amount of time. They helped move everything, and we had a lot! I have lived here thirty years and the walls have never looked better. Later, we called them back to touch-up after we had new window blinds installed.

Raul didn't over-promise like a salesman - He honestly made good recommendations for the problem areas in my home. His team of 3 have obviously worked together for a long time. They don't just put on a fresh layer of paint, they take time to do the prep work that makes the job come out right. They worked hard and and were attentive to detail. They tackled the most complicated painting jobs in my house and the outcome was fantastic. I was thankful that they were willing to work on a Saturday since it's difficult for me to get off work. I would hire them again. There is one small thing to improve on - I wish the estimate was a more detailed breakdown of all the steps. That way I would easily understand up front the $ value of all the prep work and details involved in doing the project right.

I've lived in my Chicago 2-BR walk-up condo apt. in Hyde Park for 18 years and did almost nothing to maintain, much less improve it. The building is old, constructed in 1905. Since I want to retire soon, my plan was to paint and re-do the floors. Raoul Rufino came the afternoon I asked him to, and not only gave me the lowest of three A-rated Angie's List painting companies, but offered not only to repair and paint but also to shepherd floor refinishing done by his cousins. It worked great! Everything--paintings and floors-- was done in about six days, a wonderful outcome. Raoul (and his crew consisting of brother and nephew) plastered and did initial painting from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. or later (including weekend work). They also removed 3 layers of kitchen tile so the cousins' company could restore the maple flooring in the kitchen as well as refinish the oak flooring elsewhere). They also cheerfully helped move around and from the third floor down to the ground much stuff I hadn' sent with the movers but needed to donate or discard or take. Everything looked great at the end, including the newly-painted radiators and closets that I added on to my original request. Rufino Painting was top-notch--affordable, professional and super-pleasant.

We received a recommendation for Rufino Painting from a neighbor. After reading all of their reviews on Angie's List, we decided to hire Rufino Painting and were extremely pleased with the results. Raul responded to our inquiry right away, came over to look at the job and give us an estimate, and scheduled the job with us right away. He and his crew were extremely punctual, professional, pleasant, and worked quickly and quietly. They left the house as they found it, except for now our ceilings and walls look much better! I would definitely recommend Rufino Painting to others.

Raul and his crew were excellent. Raul came over the day I called and gave me an estimate. He even shuffled some of his appointments around to get my painting done to fit my schedule. They did an excellent job. They were tidy, fast, friendly and professional. Their estimate was not the cheapest but I think it was a good price for the quality of work they did. They even repaired some small holes in my wall. I would use them again. Raul is the owner and he does some of the painting as well, so he holds his workers to a high standard. They even came in under budget. Good job. The only reason I gave "quality" a B was because after living in the condo a few days we noticed some fingerprints on the drapes (this probably happened when they bunched the drapes together to protect them from paint splatter) and we noticed a few small areas here and there that needed some touch up. I still think they did a good job for what we needed, especially for the price, but in the future, when we move into a bigger house, we will likely give another Angie's List painter a shot. Finding a painter that deserves all A's is very difficult to do.

Raul called me back within 15 minutes of me first calling him and met me within a day at the work location to provide an estimate. He was very good about writing down and quoting a price based on exactly what I wanted done, but also made a common sense and no additional cost suggestion about using a glossier paint to try to combat moisture from collecting on window sills in the future (which caused the damage I was having repaired). I also wanted him to basically touch up most walls with minor and major nail holes, but took his suggestion to just paint the walls as it wouldn't take much more time and would minimize paint streaks. Totally was worth it! All work done was excellent, Raul and his guys were always on time (Raul usually a few minutes early) and the price and work agreed to was done absolutely to my satisfaction. I threw in an extra bathroom for him to paint which we hadn't originally talked about and Raul charged just a bit more for that, but told me the cost before and it was totally reasonable. Absolutely would use Rufino Painting again and again!

This is the third or fourth time I've used Rufino and I would not hesitate to call them again. They worked over the Christmas weekend because I had a tenant that had to move in the following week. They make good suggestions and are pleasant to deal with, as always. Very hard working and business-like. Good job on short notice.

Excellent. We got 3 estimates. We chose Rufino because of their professionalism and experience. Our building is new construction, so there were some inherent problems (like the crappy caulk job the original builder did). We wanted to hire someone with experience with these types of buildings, and Raul Rufino clearly knew what he was talking about. When he gave us the estimate, he also gave us tips on what to do and not do to prime the walls, just in case we didn't hire him. We did hire Rufino, and they were punctual, professional, and courteous. They did a great job. They made our home look brand-new. Raul also told me to call if I had any problems after they left, such as any old stains showing through, etc. We're very pleased with their work. Hire Rufino!

Raul is very friendly and professional. He responded very quickly and came by within a day to provide an estimate. He worked around our schedule so that all the work was performed while we were out-of-town. I have a very close friend who used him several times in the past, so I knew I could trust him with the key to our place. I took down several of the fixtures myself prior to our leaving to save a bit of time. When we returned the following week, you could not tell they had been there except for the stunning paint work we had on our walls. I have done a great deal of painting over the years, and even go so far as to tape the ceiling to get a good cut line with the wall color. They (as all pros do) did it free hand, and I could not tell the difference! There was not one speck of dust in our unit even though they had sanded drywall mud. I will not do any of my own painting again and have since sent Raul and his crew to other folks who have been as equally happy. They may price a bit high, but if you are particular like I am, it is well worth it.

We are pleased with the work that Raul, Cesar, and Jorge did in the painting of our condominium. Raul not only assisted us in choosing colors but also explained in advance the work they would be doing. They came each morning on time and worked long hours each day. They all were very acommodating and we are pleased with the work they did and would gladly recommend them to others.
