RPM GARAGE DOOR & GATE SERVICE

Run far far away!!!!!! They tried to sell us a new door opener motor and all it was was a fuse!!!!!! There bill is 261.49 for nothing!!! We got a second option who flipped the fuse. My husband spoke with them and settled things. We just got a letter, they sent us to collections. Avoid them!!!!!

The company sent a representative out to take a look at the project. He promised me he would send me a full estimate as a follow up. One week later, I called because I had not received the estimate. The man I spoke with apologized and said he would work on it. A week later I texted him with no response. It has now been two and a half weeks and I have not received an estimate, nor do I anticipate receiving one. They wasted my time with this whole process.

I called RPM and they gave me a Thursday appointment. I had to go to Bible Study on Wednesday so i canceled their services and called Angie's list to inform them to return my money to my account. I have no record of their service quality or their timeliness. I did not use them.

DO NOT HIRE THIS FIRM. We hired RPM for a huge job. Although Chris is a nice guy, the fence they installed has never worked for us (and it's been over a year now). We have called them over and over and over...The pedestrian gate had problems since the day it was installed. It's never worked. We told Chris it was a substandard product that needed to be replaced and he said he would do so if we invested even more money into the fence! We've called to complain, beg, reason and everything else to get them to come out an fix the thing yet again (and by the way, now both the back gate isn't working either) and he said we need to first pay him another $1000+ for an outstanding balance for them coming out to fix what never worked in the first place! Are you kidding me?!?! One of the worst experiences ever - and my Pastor husband and I are very reasonable and fair people. I wish someone had warned us about how terrible they are.

Absolutely Unresponsive/Unreliable. Not even 1 start! Called for an appointment. was told I get a call back but never did. A technician called saying he was in front of my house. Was never called ahead with a date/time. I called back to reschedule. Technician never showed up at the scheduled time. When I called to find out what happen, Chris said "don't understand why he's not there, your house was the first on the list. I'll call the technician and will call you back." That was over a month ago. Never got a call back. You my despair, I called another company I used years ago: PRO 4 DOORS, only to find out they were purchased by RPM Garage Door & Gates.

I thought I had not posted a review on Angie's List previously (I realize I was mistaken now), so I went in almost a year later and posted a positive review (dated 11/10/15). On 11/20/15 (10 days later), I received an email from Tim (the owner?) with an invoice to the work they did (and a notation saying it was 1 year old!). No call, just an email with an invoice a year later. I called them on 12/1/15 and spoke to a gentleman (I think Gary?) and asked that Tim called me back and confirm that no outstanding bill is on my account and that my account was paid in full a year ago when services were rendered. No call back. My positive experience turned negative very quickly. I can only imagine that my positive review was the catalyst for them sending me a bill (a year later and a mistake on their part!). If someone calls me back apologizing and confirming my bill was paid, I will change my review again but until then, it is ridiculous that I have to chase them (a year later!) to confirm I paid my bill a year ago. Completely unprofessional. I found the company on Angie's List and called to see if they could help with a problem I was having with my front gate post sinking over time into the ground. I think it was because the top of the gate post was missing when we moved in, and the rain/snow water that subsequently fell inside the post was making the ground soft and causing the fence post to sink down. Chris was very helpful and asked that I email pictures over to him for a quick review. After I did, he provided a quick response/quote and we scheduled the work to be done in the following days. It was a small job, but I'm appreciative of the fact that they were responsive, quick, and he helped me solve the small problem instead of trying to sell me a new fence. If at some point in the future we decide to replace our gate, we will definitely call them.

My remote control for access to my gated condominium parking lot worked intermittently and then not at all. I called RPM because they had previously serviced the gate. RPM promised to send a technician to give an estimate on replacing my remote (and purchasing additional remotes for others in building). I took time off from work and no technician showed up. This happened at least three more times -- for a total of at least four missed appointments. The technician who finally did come identified a problem with the gate operator (circuit board) which was an obsolete model. While the diagnosis was correct, he left the gate inoperable and in an open position. The employees I spoke with at RPM were not apologetic for the missed appointments nor did they proceed with any urgency or sense of responsibility for the security issue created by the open gate. I opted to hire a different provider for repair. UPDATE: OCTOBER 27, 2015 I did receive the email referenced in the October 26 response. However, after a number of missed appointments (as previously noted, technicians did not show up for scheduled appointments more than once), I could not skip work yet again on such short notice (based on past experience, I had no assurance that the appointment would be kept).

I am SO very disappointed. In my old house, in Oak Park, I had used RPM and LOVED the experience -- Neal was great, he worked with me closely and did a beautiful job installing and with follow-up issues he was A+... Apparently, he sold the business to two brothers and it ain't what it used to be. I figured I would FOR SURE buy from RPM because I was so happy with them last time, but it was hard to get them to come out. The owner came and was not so enthusiastic (which is neither here nor there because I was buying a gate not him!). But Neal was so passionate and taught me a lot about what to look for, why his product was great, etc. NONE OF THAT HERE> But ... I never got a quote. I sent a follow-up email asking for one, 6/6/15. A week later I called and let the admin know somehow we'd never received a quote. Now, 2 weeks past that, still nothing. Guess I'm not going to use them VERY DISAPPOINTED to see a great company go down the tubes.

Super, work was covered by warrantee. Repairman was professional and courteous.

I sent them pictures, and they sent me quote over the phone, then they came out to do the work. When they called to schedule an appointment, and I told them it was a small job, and everything went well. I haven't had any issues with it.

There were two guys that came out. It took one day to do. They were very courteous. Gave step by step process on what they were doing. They showed me how to work the gate when they were done. I have had to call them back for a few quick fixes and they are always responsive and come right out. I even called them on a Saturday and they came right out.

They came out on the date we agreed on and were punctual. They called me the day of when they would be arriving. I am waiting on them to get the estimate back to me at this time.

Tim was very responsive and friendly to deal with. His team showed up on time and work met all expectations for a fair price.

It was very good. Other than it taking a little while to get them to respond and follow up, the work was very good. Overall I was very satisfied.

Called company at 9:00 a.m. Dispatcher said someone would be out that morning between 10:00 and noon. Tony arrived at 10:30 was professional, had the part we needed in his truck. Gave me a price that I felt was reasonable and after work was done, was able to give me a break on the price since he finished faster that expected. Door works great!

The service was Professional and complete. I could not ask for more. Mike is an exceptional service rep for the company. He even assisted in programing a extra remote for one of the residence in the condo. Our equipment was in great need of service. Lacking a PM for a few years. Mike understood out needs and addressed them in a timely fashion.

Mike and Eric were very good and professional.

Everyone at RPM were courteous, returned calls, and were a pleasure to work with. Eric, the serviceman, was outstanding. He is competent at his work, you can just tell he does this for a living and enjoys it.

Neil at RPM answered all of my many and annoying questions about our many options for replacing or repairing the broken parking lot gate at our condo community parking lot. Because he took great care to educate us and provided a very reasonable extended service contract for the new equipment, we felt very confident with our choice of RPM. Would definitely recommend this provider, especially for larger gate/door installation projects. Incredible service throughout the entire process - punctual, responsive and phenomenal follow-up after the installation.

RPM came to measure and discuss options and were very up front with the price. They explained the process and different phases of installation. Everything happened on schedule and the team did a very nice job installing what is a very high quality rolling grille. Even through the sub-zero winter we've had so far the gate has functioned reliably and properly. Very happy with how everything turned out, even though the price was steep.

After a second horrendous experience with this company I was compelled to write this review. The first time I used them was in every way unprofessional - that is, they showed up hours late, didn't return calls, scheduled followup appts without my consent, and their service tech was indifferent toward it all. I decided to give them a second try and scheduled a 7am appointment since this was their first one of the day. NO CALL NO SHOW! So I called Neil and he told me that all appts were cancelled today - yet no one bothered to tell me?

i found RPM on Angie's List and called to get an estimate. They scheduled a technician to come out and do the estimate. The technician called and told me he was about 20 - 30 minutes away. He arrived and we discussed what needed to be done and he explained how RPM would do it and then went about taking measurements for the estimate. He said someone would contact me with a price for the estimate. This was a Monday. I called RPM on Thursday to find out how long it would take to get the estimate and the guy who answered the phone told me that he hadn't gotten to the Monday paperwork yet, but I should get the estimate soon. It is now 3 weeks later and I still haven't received an estimate.

I used this Provider approximately 6 months prior to joining Angie's List. At that time I searched for reputable services/companies using BBB. When searching for a company on Angie's List and saw RPM Garage Door & Gate Service Inc, I immediately knew the service was excellent because of my past experience with the Provider. I was very happy with the results. I contacted the Provider, made an appointment. The serviceman arrived on time. I explained the problem, he checked the situation, explained my options and the rest is history. After the serviceman left, I remembered I needed to program my car's universal remote. (I tried to do it myself, but couldn't). I contacted the Provider; the serviceman returned 1 week later and took care of that as well. Again, I am very satisfied with the services provided, would definitely use the Provider again and highly recommend the services of RPM Garage Door & Gate Services.

Thoroughly impressed with RPM. Neil Walker's estimate was prompt and complete. The installer, Mike Platta, was on-time, professional, courteous and helpful. It is clear the company and staff are committed to doing the job correctly and really understand customer service. Pricing was extremely competitive and work is excellent. I would recommend them to anyone looking for garage, gate or wrought iron work.
