Robert's Garage Door Professionals of Chicago

We had a new problem with our commercial garage doors. Two were not shutting properly and we needed someone to repair them as soon as possible. Since I've used them before, I called Robert's Garage Door Professionals and spoke with Robbie and explained the situation. It was Sunday and he scheduled us in for Monday morning. When he left, everything was working again and the doors could open and shut safely for our customers. We were back in business. This is the 2nd time we have used RGDP and will continue doing so and if we ever decide to replace our garage doors we'll call them. I love that they are a hard-working family-owned company, like ours, and Local. Without hesitation, we would recommend them to other commercial businesses, our family and friends. Called the number, left voice mail for Robbie and received a call back in just a couple minutes. He linked me up with George who showed up later that afternoon. George checked out the situation and didn't have the part needed in the truck. He scheduled for the next day and made some adjustments free of charge while he was there. Next day, George called when on the way, showed up with the parts, was in and out in less than 30 min. Door is smooth, closes fully, and, most importantly, looks like the bracket will not be ripping out again any time soon. Reasonable price, professional staff, solid work.

The main spring on our garage door broke with a loud bang on a Sunday. Searching Yelp we found Robert's but were a little concerned that the reviews were made up. There were many and they were all very positive. So we called and had prompt, professional service Sunday night. It's been over a year and the door still works perfectly. I wish more companies were like this one.

What lifesavers! I noticed the door would close on Thursday the 5th and realized the door had rollers off the tracks. We had out of town guests coming the next day and 22 people coming for a holiday dinner that night. I checked Angie's List, found Roberts, called them at 7:30AM on Friday and they had someone out by 10:30AM that day. Aaron was our repairman and was absolutely lovely, professional and did a top-notch job! The garage door hasn't sounded this quiet and good since we moved here 2 years ago. He told me about any future possible repairs, said the door should last for years. I will definitely use them for future work. PS - I didn't comment on cost because I didn't get estimates from different companies. We needed this fixed ASAP and I couldn't take the time to get quotes. Turned out they were quite reasonable for the work done and I'm very happy.

Leaving for work this morning, my garage door opened but wouldn't close. I called Allied but they couldn't spare a technician. Robert's came through! Erin the technician came in thirty minutes and fixed the problem. I'm very grateful and hence this review.

Same day service, the repair was handled in about an hour. The repair man, George, was very knowledgeable and had all the replacements parts in his truck. Will defnitely use them again!

I called them this morning and John came out within about 2 hours. He was professional and explained what needed to be done to repair my broken cables. He didn't try to sell me on anything more than was needed. Very satisfied with the work.

Traffic and other issues caused a late arrival the first evening. And the repair took longer than expected. After working on it for a few hours the first night, the repairman explained it was a bigger job than he first thought. He said he would be back the next night to finish the job. He was. And he did. And in the end I very much appreciated the integrity and craft of the work done. As I said before, it works better now than it ever did.

Overall I could not have been happier. They did what they said they would do. Business is all about service. It's not what you say or do it's how you make the customer feel.

We live out of state and own a house in Chicago. Repairs are a real challenge. Our renter reported that the door was sticking and would go partially up then get stuck. It had to be brought up and down several times before it would work. As Roberts Garage had installed the door, I called them. They came over very quickly and diagnosed the problem. They proposed a solution of reasonable cost and offered a prompt repair. They were willing to work with me on payment since I am out of state. They were friendly They arrived quickly and had the work completed very promptly.

He was very good to match the Angie's list deal price for repair and tune up. My garage door cable came off again and he was quick to repair it as it was under warranty. I like businesses who keep up the promises.

Called to explain the problem, and they called back to say they what they thought the problem was and told me they could do it the next day. The bracket that connects the door to the opener had ripped off, and they indicated they thought they could fix the issue by installing a much heavier duty bracket to keep this from happening again. Said they would be out the next morning, but had to push that back twice to later in the afternoon (not an issue for me since I work from home, but could have been otherwise). Upon arrival, he showed me the heavy duty bracket, told me it would be $140, and finished the job in about 15 minutes. He honored the Angie's List coupon which brought down the price a bit. After a month, the bracket is holding up well and the garage opener is working without incident. Overall, a very good experience.

As a last resort I found and called Robert's Garage Door Professional, before buying a new opener. They came out an hour or two later. It turned out to be a really, really simple issue that would have never occurred to me in a million years. They were prompt and great to work with. Also they came out on a Saturday which surprised me, because I thought I'd have to take time off from work.On top of it all they saved me a significant amount of money that I would have thrown out buying a replacement opener. I highly recommend them and will use them again.

The actual work took very little time.

Roberts Garage Door Professionals are prompt, honest and reasonably priced. John came out the same day and found that the problem was relatively minor. He fixed it quickly and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't really need. Great service, great price ... triple A+ rating from us!

Had hardly hung up the phone leaving a voice mail before Robbie called me back. He had someone out to my premise within hours to inspect and give an estimate. We got an excellent price (had an Angie's List coupon,too) and the crew was out the next day to install. The installation crew was prompt, called ahead, did their work effectively and efficiently and then educated me on my new product. There was not a scrap of any of the materials left anywhere.They also helped me understand other aspects of the garage door , e.g. the remote panel. Because of their above and beyond education on the operation of the remote panel, I think something got missed in the reconstruct and they had to come back out. They came back out and rebooted the door codes; problem resolved. I had asked them to show me how to reprogram the panel and so I blame myself for the revisit, which they executed promptly and cheerfully. This is the second time Robbie and his team have rescued me from garage door difficulty and I cannot say enough good things. Prompt, professional,and a GREAT value for extraordinary service.

Now I see why Robert's Garage Door has such great reviews! After seeing my poor review yesterday, Robert called me this morning and made things right. He apologized for the whole situation, saying he wanted to earn my business back. To make up for the snafu, Robert knocked a ton off the price he quoted me the day before. He's going to install a top-of-the-line door for less than I'd pay for a vastly inferior product at Home Depot. At this price point, I'm positive Robert isn't making any profit. He obviously isn't one of those businessmen who just pays lip service to customer satisfaction; It REALLY matters to him. I'll definitely recommend Robert's Garage Door to others!

I called the main number. I believe it was the owner. It felt like he was on a job call. He listened to my problem and then sent one of his workers (I do not recall his name). He came promptly, within 2 hours of my call. He took a look at my chain and quickly diagnosed the problem. But then I showed him our door. Because my Au Pair ran into the garage door because she did not see that it had not opened all the way, he put the door back on the rail, but also fixed the damaged door (which was incredibly money-saving because I would have had to replace the entire door which would have been over $1000). Anyway, at first he said it would be hard to fix the door, but I asked him to try, and I think he took it as a challenge and did an excellent job. He did not charge me extra for this, which I felt was extremely nice. Overall, an honest company. Very nice people. I would use again.

Superb service. My garage door wasn't working properly so I called, and Jon came out to give a free estimate within hours of calling. He was fast, professional, and polite. Plus, based on what I needed, I could tell I was getting a great deal. He didn't have what he needed on his truck because it was a specialty item, but he returned the next day to replace the broken part. I would definitely use them again!!

I called Robert's Garage Door Pros and Rob and Ben came out that afternoon. After checking out the door, they found some screws that had probably loosened from the door closing down too hard. They reattached the bottom strip and adjusted the tension coils above the door so that it closed more smoothly. They also lubricated the tracks so that the door would squeak less and explained that they couldn't get all the squeaks since some of the hinges were inaccessible. Overall, they were very fast and efficient and took care of the problem and the garage door runs more smoothly now.

Our garage door was stuck; a strut that holds the panels together was bent. I was able to get it up, get the cars out, then close it again. I called Robert and either reached him directly or he called me right back. He came by within an hour or two, looked at the door and told me what the options were: repair with a new strut or replace the door. The door is pretty old and beat, but I decided to keep it and repair it. Price for replacement was not bad though. As the strut needed was extra-long, they didn't have it on the truck but Robert said the repair could be done the next day. His guys came by the next day and did the work, no problem, no upcharge, no hassle. Would definitely give them my business overall.

I immediately realized I was dealing with a professional. Although the model opener I received was a deluxe model with many optional items, Ben with only a minor glance at the manual completed the installation of the opener, emergency stop beam, surge protector, keyless remote, laser parking control, and even programmed the unit to my auto's built in sytem. The job clearly took longer than originally anticipated due to the number of optional devices to install. Although clearly not his fault, he was was apologetic that the installation took a little longer than anticipated. The pride he took in his profession was evident throughout the process. The conversation we had about a range of topics through the process was also refreshing, and made the time go quickly. It has now been a few weeks and the system is working perfectly. Oh, did I mention Ben even lubricated all the track wheels and tightened one loose bracket that was making a noise. Clean up was also excellent. I highly receommend this company for any garage door needs. Read all the reviews...there is a reason for the overwhelming approval of their work!

After missing our first appointment Robbie offered to come over in 20-25 minutes, but I chose to reschedule. He was 5 minutes early for the second appointment and gave me an additional discount. He did the work quickly, explained everything he was doing and tested it out. It's great being able to open and close the garage door from my car again!

Robert's garage pros are excellent. My garage door broke at 4pm on a Saturday on my way out. I called them before I left and they said call us on your way home. Robert came to my house at 8:30 at night and didn't leave until 10pm. He was super friendly very professional (he even took off his shoes when he came into my house to give me the bill). He replaced the springs the rollers basically everything but the actual garage door unit. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to people. I can't believe they came out on a Saturday night that late and how quickly they responded to my call. My garage door is the quietest it has been since we moved into this house!
