Fantastic company and great experience! Called company in morning and George (who serviced this door in January) was at home within two hours. In January, the settings were adjusted to stop the door from popping back up periodically. It left a large gap at the bottom on one side of the door when closed but he originally thought it was because the concrete settled. After the roller popped out, George determined that the door was actually pressing against one side of the frame causing stress and ultimately the bottom roller popped out. George adjusted the rail and replaced the roller and now the door closes with virtually no gap. Great work George! A+++++ Highly recommend!

When the door failed in August 2012 we immediately researched our options, and called several of the highest-rated businesses. Most were located in the suburbs and were not responsive. Robert's Garage Door Professionals, we noted, was in the city nearby, and, indeed, Robert Faught, the proprietor, was immediately responsive and arrived shortly. Once the door was inspected, he explained to us what our options were: mainly to disassemble the whole unit back in a shop and try to weld the slates back onto the drum at a some considerable time and expense with the likelihood that it would not last - these and the other components having stood in the weather and in use for 27 years. A regular garage door was not an option as it raises into a horizontal position - useful only with inside structure. We did not want a sliding gate with an open view of our yard. So we took the expensive but sensible option of purchasing an entire new door assembly. It had to be ordered as some components would be custom made. Inside of three weeks the assembly arrived from the factory and very shortly afterwards it was installed and largely functioning. There were a few particulars that needed tuning and these were attended within a few days. We had only paid a small fee for the initial inspection and assessment. Mr. Faught insisted on not billing us until we were entirely satisfied. We asked that a small, non-functional detail be attended to and it took a couple of months for that to happen, but we did not receive an invoice until February 2013 which we were happy to pay. The door has worked very well. It is quieter and smoother in operation and it looks good too. We are satisfied. This was not a regular job for this business; it required adaptation to a rather unusual circumstance, yet they tackled it promptly and with care. Mr. Faught is distant on the phone, but face to face, he is most considerate and engaging, thoughfully anticipating the problems at hand. His people are also good. I called and one came quickly to fix a problem with my daughter-in-law's regular garage door elsewhere. It turned out to be very simple - took a few minutes and a few dollars and it was done - no fooling around.

Showed up an hour late. Told us we needed more than what was discussed --- a torsion spring, brand new installation on the door opener. Told us that despite the sticker on our door saying the door might be under warranty that his company had nothing to do with our door, just the opener. Felt swindled, and under pressure to agree to his terms. The unit is great. Functions properly. But I didn't appreciate the service, which included up charges, arguing and late arrival.

My garage door opener was not working properly. It would open/close but not all the way. Called Robert and had George come over to diagnose it on Monday. I was really concerned about the opener being misdiagnosed and spending money for something that wasn't necessary, but George was a pro all the way. He tried many ways to fix the door. He looked at the door sensors, adjusted the tension screw, and tested the door, without the motor assisting it, to see if there was any resistance. George was sure that the motor was beyond repair but he wanted to try one more thing to be sure. He had me close the door using the motor while he slightly pushed the door to give it some extra muscle. The door closed without a problem. Now, I was convinced, along with George, that it was the motor. Luckily, I had a Craftsman opener laying around that was still new in the box. But I was still tempted to buy a newer one because the Craftsman was about ten years old. George assured me that the Craftsman was the way to go. Since I had a screw drive and the Craftsman was a chain drive, the install would require a new rail. So, we decided to do the install on Tuesday. It wound up being Wednesday because George's first Tuesday appointment took all day. Not his fault and he did keep me in the loop. Sometimes the simplest jobs turn into the hardest. George made me his first job of the day for Wednesday. My dad stayed home to be there when George arrived to install the motor and rail while I was at work. When I got home and looked at the work, I was impressed. New motor and rail, to quote George "worked like a champ." Even threw in a remote because the ones that came in the box needed new batteries. Robert has a great business and George is definitely an asset of that company. I have no problem recommending Robert and George.

I called Robert's late in the afternoon to come out an look at my broken garage door. A person (as opposed to an automated operator or voice mail) answered the phone. Love that!! He collected information pertinent to my repair. Aaron came out the next morning. He was very courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. He replaced the broken extension spring (actually both of them as they must be balanced) and checked out the garage door and the entire system, including cleaning the motion sensors. He completed his work in under 45 minutes. I am very pleased with the work and the price and would definitely call them again if need be.

Fantastic experience! The motor on garage door opener was running but the chain (and door) was not moving. I contacted the manufacturer's customer service and after removing the cover on the opener, it was determined that the drive gear needed replacing. I called several Angie's List companies and got estimates between $120 and $200 which made me seriously consider doing this on my own or just buying a new opener for $350 installed. Robert's Garage Door Professionals was the only one who didn't want to quote a price over the phone but offered to come out for a free estimate. I had nothing to lose. I told them it wasn't an emergency since we could open the door manually, but they said they could come out that afternoon. The service person, George, was great! He was very professional ... arrived when promised, listened to my concerns including understanding the underlying cause for the malfunction, and after testing the door balance and looking at the other gears determined that I really only needed to replace the drive gear. He gave me a one year warranty for the work and an Angie's list discount! It couldn't have worked out better...these guys are absolutely GREAT! They only charge for what needs to be repaired after their physical assessment. George even lubricated the door so now it doesn't squeak when it opens. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! A+++

No a hitch or glitch...perfect service and excellent work

They were out within 2 hours of our call, on the coldest day yet this winter! They quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem, and replaced a couple of other parts that were worn (we had not serviced the garage door in over 10 years). The tech also showed me where to lube the door annually for best performance. Excellent experience.

Could not be more satisfied.

Just as other customers have said Robert answered the phone himself and on the first call. He had someone come out after I got home from work and George was on time and professional. He fixed the problem in a reasonable time frame and had all the supplies he needed in the truck. George ordered a weather strip for garage door however I never heard back from him on the work. Then a month or so later Robert called me to ask for payment on the services which I informed him I paid via check and provided the check number and details. He promptly thanked me and apologized for the confusion. I will likely call them again if needed.

The rolling gate where my parking spot is wouldn't open and another gate was very hard to open (there are three gates at this building). I called Robbie and he called me back within the an hour or so. He was very flexible on a time and I made an appointment for the next day. He's on call 24 hours but I chose to wait until the next day because it wasn't an emergency. He called me on the day of the appointment to let me know exactly when he'd be there. When he arrived for the appointment he quickly assessed the problem (one of the guiding tracks came loose, the gates hadn't been oiled in years) and gave me an estimate to fix it. I agreed to the price (it was VERY fair) and he got to work immediately. He was able to straighten the guide on one of the gates so it wouldn't get caught and oiled/ WD-40ed all three gates so they would open easier. One of the gates has some rollers that are going bad and he gave me an estimate on how much it cost if/when they gave out. I appreciated the info and took it back to my condo board. The whole appointment took about an hour and the price was exactly what he quoted. Robbie and his apprentice were very friendly and accommodating. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

Robert answers his own phone, returns calls within 5 minutes, and dispatched a crew within 90 minutes of my call regarding an emergency with my garage door. His crew diagnosed the problem quickly, called me to inform me of the cost to repair (very reasonable), fixed it within 60 minutes and took a credit card over the phone. A true example of exceptional customer service.

Fabulous. Answered the phone personally. Sent a repairman out within 2 hours of call. I thought the holiday would delay a response. Repaired the system -- was professional, courteous. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

One of the big springs had fallen off of our garage door, trapping my car inside, on 12/21. Contacted another provider, which had done great work for us in the past, and set up an appointment for between 10 and noon on 12/24, the first appointment they had available. After being effectively blown off by them on 12/24, I checked Angie's List and called Robert at about 9 that morning. He sent George out a couple of hours later--he had the part and fixed the door within half an hour. Same price or slightly lower than the other group had quoted. Very professional, and I really appreciated their help, especially at the last minute on a holiday! Will defnitely use them again!

On Saturday afternoon, three days before Christmas, my garage door stopped working. Robert's had Teo out that afternoon. He diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and did a full tune-up. He also pointed out where I should be doing regular maintenance to avoid problems in the future. Teo was a pleasure to work with, and the door is working great, and all for a reasonable price!

We called a few places over the holiday and were told no because it was a holiday. Robert came out on the holiday. He only charged the regular rate - no extra fees because of the holiday.

We had a problem one night, couldn't open or close the door & had to release it from the electric metal slide to close it manually. Then we needed to get the one side back on the track. We looked on Angie's list & found them. We called, they showed up on time & the fix for the door was a lot less than we expected. They were very professional, no problems.

I highly recommend Roberts' Garage Pros. We have an old wood garage door that jammed due to a broken spring. The first company I called was nice on the phone but didn't show up (or even call) as promised. The next company said that the mechanism was probably stripped and repairs would likely come to over $700. They recommended replacing our door with a newer model, saying that parts would soon be difficult to find. They could do it for $725. I was about to take their advice but I liked our 1950's vintage solid wood and steel door that had just been painted to match the trim. I noticed that almost everyone on the block had the same garage door as in the brochure that I was given. I decided to try one more company - Robert's Garage Pros. They were great on the phone and advised me not to try to open the door - since it was making a loud noise. They came out right away. George, the tech, took the time to explain to me about the new type of springs that would effectively replace our broken old heavy obsolete springs. He recommended quality springs and harware that would last 10-15 years with a full warranty for five years. He wrote up a professional estimate. Nothing was mentioned about stripped mechanisms and obsolescence. The cost was $425 but with an Angies List and senior discount came out to $375. He showed up as promised the next day and quickly did the work with enthusiasm and professionalism. He had me try out the door manually, showing me how to disengage it if needed. It had never been that easy and smooth to lift - even back in the manual days! He had replaced an old beat up roller and lubed the mechanism and replaced a missing light bulb - all at no additional charge. It sounded much quieter to me but he commented on the noise and we found the metal cover, someone had taken it off, on one of the shelves. He got that put back on and it was even quieter. From start to finish, George, and Robert's Garage Pros, were a pleasure to work with.

Robby quickly came out on a Saturday to assess the issue and fix. Very friendly and professional.

He was here within a couple of hours and had the problem fixed within another 30 minutes. I really appreciated the promptness and professionalism. Thanks so much for the quick turnaround!!

Robert's was incredibly responsive. Came quickly, upgraded the door to a newer, safer and more reliable design. The door went off track for an unrelated reason over Memorial Day. Robert came out within an hour, on the Holiday, to fix the problem (even though it was due to a part he had not installed!). Wow. Fantastic service from a very knowledgeable, reliable company that stands behind everything they do. Couldn't be happier. These guys are are awesome..

What a great company. John was extremely professional and one of the most reasonable companies I have ever hired. Did a complete adjustment of the garage door and replaced the pulley wheels because the bearings were shot. When I used the $40 coupon for the tune-up, there was no "Oh, I didn't know you had a coupon". to repair my garage door. Sears was $109 just to come out and adjust the door, anything else would be a labor rate plus parts. Total cost $60. Will use and recommend Robert's Garage Door to my friends.

They were very prompt. They came the next day after I called. I got a call in the morning with an estimated time of arrival, and he arrived when he said he would. George came and was professional, friendly and did a great job. He installed a new garage door opener with safety features. We expected just an estimate, but he was ready to install the garage door opener and we were glad to have him go ahead and do it. He clearly explained the features of the opener and how to problem solve any problems that may arise. We found the price to be very reasonable. We were glad for the prompt, professional service and will call Roberts again with any other garage door needs.
