PYRAMID TUCKPOINTING & BUILDING MAINTENANCE

We were given Richard's name by a neighbor, who's chimney he rebuilt. One of our chimneys was ready to fall over and he quoted us in the fall but couldn't do the work until the spring. He worked over several weeks, rebuilding the chimney and replacing the flash plates inside. It turns out that there was even more extensive damage going all the way down to our boiler--the bricks and everything inside was crumbling and all the gases were getting trapped, it was a very dangerous situation. Richard repaired everything and showed us what was normally covered and what he had to buy extra of (showed us receipts and everything) and didn't charge us extra labor or anything, it was really appreciated. Richard and his crew cleaned up every day and also made sure to keep us updated on everything that was going on. They were very courteous and helpful. Very happy to have used Pyramid!

Richard did an incredible job rebuilding our chimney. It's absolutely beautiful and I never thought a chimney could be beautiful. He is very meticulous and a skilled worker.

He was really good. He had some suggestions. His price was reasonable and did not add any cost or unnecessary work. His workers has a strong work ethic.

Overall, a fantastic job. Rich Konieczo, owner of the company responded quickly to my call and he came out and gave an estimate in about 10 minutes. It is a family owned business and he employees his sons/relative. They started at about 7:30am and worked until about 8:00pm in very hot conditions. Richard takes great pride in his workmanship and it shows. The chimney looks like a piece of art. They were on time, courteous and cleaned up the work site. About 20 years earlier, I had Richard do some work on my house. I would highly recommend this company for these services. Again, you are directly dealing with the owner and not some salesman.

I was very pleased. They were capable, skilled at what they did, and conscientious and thorough in their work. They cleaned up after they were finished.

He was wonderful and did help us a great deal and did not charge us anything. He explained what the problem was with our brick work and even took some pictures for us because he thought we might need them for a court case that we were involved with, with the builders. He was just great and since he was busy and could not do the work, he recommended another company.

He evokes the skill of a true artisan. Rick has innate artistic ability that you don't see very often these days with a passion for his trade. I found him to be punctual, hardworking, fair priced and polite. He also did some extra work that was an over site on my part and did not charge me for it. I recommend him without reservation.

Rick and his crew were conscientious and did a top-notch job. Rick is hard working and takes pride in his work. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Rich gave us the estimate within two days of our request. He started the job within 4 weeks (it was the end of the season and he was very busy). He did all the work himself with the help of 3-4 men in his crew. It was a huge job; the chimney is 20 feet from the roofline to the cap and three flues wide (about 6 feet). They arrived every morning around 8:00 and worked all day until 6:30-7:30. They took very few breaks and worked on Saturday also. All of the crew was professional, respectful and friendly. They cleaned up the job site when they were finished. The whole job took 13 days and they worked straight through until it was finished. We had an issue with our damper and Rich followed up the next day to make sure everything was working properly. They had to use the neighbor's driveway; they made every effort to keep the encroachment to a minimum. Rich took a lot of pride in his work and it was evident that customer service and satisfaction were very important to him. He was easy to talk to and answered all questions patiently. We highly recommend this company.

Richard gave me a "guided tour" of the crack and a few others that were starting. I agreed to have the two major ones repaired and will keep an eye on the ones that are just beginning. He explained everything that he would do, which included mixing the grindings from the existing mortar with the new in order to get a better color match. He did a careful and neat job, and he offered to return to "age" the tuck pointing if I wanted a better match. The repair looks fine to me. Richard obviously loves his work and takes a great deal of pride in doing it. It was delightful working with him.

Rick provided me with an estimate and squeezed me in to beat the cold weather even though his schedule was full. He worked steadily and did a top notch job. He also stated that he prefers to service only the far NW side of Chicago (north of Addison and west of Cicero).

Company did not return call for two days. They don't service area.

I called him and he called me right back and ended up coming that same day to do the work. He did do quality work. The price that he gave me very reasonable for being there for about three hours. He was a very nice man and he did a tremendous job.

They were very prompt and efficient. They analyzed it and stayed within their quote. They put some tarps down on the grass so the pieces wouldn't put holes in the yard. They knew their stuff. They did a great job matching the chimney to the roof line. They didn't want any money until the work was done.

Richard was very responsive to my original request. The work was completed about 2 weeks after the proposal was signed. The work required a scaffold that was partially erected in my neighbor's yard. Richard and his crew did a good job of protecting my neighbor's landscaping. The debris from the existing chimney was completely removed. The cleanup was well done.

They were exceptionally honest and patient explaining the process well. He came out on a Sunday in bad weather to get it done so we could have our roof work done on time. He worked hard, came in well under what others would have charged. He was very nice, helpful and I would recommend him to anybody. He didn't just do the job, he really went above and beyond to help us out of a problem.

Richard and his son did great work. I was having my roof done and when the roofers removed the old flashing at all the roof-wall junctions, we found that the mortar behind the flashing was severely worn away. I needed that repaired before the roofers installed the new flashing. I called several tuckpointing companies, and only Pyramid Tuckpointing was able to come on short notice. We originally set up to meet the next day, but Richard called me back and came out from the city the same evening (after 6pm) to survey the work and provide an estimate. He and his son arrived the following morning to begin the repairs. I decided at the same time to have my chimney repaired. The chimney had mortar all over the surface of the bricks from a previous repair. It looked terrible. Richard and his son ground away the mortar on the bricks, tuckpointed the chimney, and sealed the cap. They finished all the work the same day. I will call Richard when I'm ready to tuckpoint the rest of the house!

He is delightful to work with, dependable, helpful and good to his customers. He moved away about 80 miles, but still came to do the repairs; very loyal to customers. The price was reasonable and the work was excellent. I am very happy to find a service provider that is dependable.

He is the first person I have had to tuckpoint properly. He is very thorough and performs the correct amount of grinding. He does a very meticulous job before he starts applying the mortar. I will call him again for future work. He is very polite, punctual, and if there is a delay he will call, he does not leave you hanging. To do the chimney liner he had to remove ducts in the house and there was a dead squirrel and two dead birds that he disposed of for me.

Called Pyramid last year. Richard came out and gave us an estimate on sealing the masonry around some windows. Since we are a condo building we had to raise money for the work. I called him back almost a year later and he still honored the estimate. He came out despite a busy pre-winter schedule and weather permitting finished the project within a couple of weeks right before it got too cold. He called and kept in touch with me about the schedule and weather. Richard was very pleasant to work with and took the time to explain exactly what he was doing as well as educating me about other masonry issues to look out for. I will definitely use them again.

DID A VERY NICE JOB. HE HAD TO DIG OUT BRICKS AND REPLACE THEM. HE IS A TRUE CRAFTSMAN. I WILL CONTINUE TO USE HIM.

HE IS ALWAYS RESPONSIVE WHEN ASKED FOR A PROPOSAL, AND RELIABLE WHEN SCHEDULING THE JOB AND COMPLETING IT AS PROMISED. HIS WORK IS VERY HIGH QUALITY, AND REALLY HOLDS UP OVER TIME.
