PRO - Technology Professionals

Professional from start to finish. They technician patiently let me describe the symptoms, put forth some theories on what the problem might be and even did some initial testing while I was there. I opted for e-mail updates, which were prompt, as was notification of repair completion. In accordance with my request, they did their best to let me keep all of the working components (old but top-end when they were new and in great condition now), replacing only what was necessary. I won't go anywhere else for computer repair or customization.

I brought in a ultrabook that was unbootable following an aborted attempt to upgrade a SSD drive. During the attempt, a clip connecting the keyboard to the motherboard was broken. I brought the ultrabook in and explained what had happened, and left the computer with them. They replaced and realigned the clip and tested the laptop. I was available to me the NEXT DAY. That was the best service I have ever had from a computer repair service.

PRO Computers Chicago found out what the problem was and I think they actually went ahead and put a part in to see if they can make it work again but they were not able to do it. As they said if they couldn't recover anything, they wouldn't charge me anything and they did not. They did what they said they would and they were very communicative in terms of what was going on in the process.

They were so organized prompt business like but also kind and curteous. I dropped off the computer and they completed the retrieval within a day or so which was fine for me

The experience was excellant. The tec was friendly and proficient. He diagnosed that our Windows XP was bad and took the computer to the shop to install Windowas 7. He also checked why the printer wasn't working. It was dead! He came back 2 days later with a refurbished computer and installed a new printer. All is well! We were able to do our taxes on time!

My Dell desktop PC was freezing up and crashing. I brought it it to Pro Computer and they tested it for a few days. They found the problem, a defective RAM card which they special ordered and installed for me. Computer works beautifully again. They were an absolute pleasure to work with.

They were very responsive with my e-mail communications and provided the service efficiently and effectively.

I was so surprised they did not charge me anything even though it took their and another specialist's time to open up and try to recover data from my external drive. They even gave us some suggestion how to back up data safely going forward.

I dropped off laptop and they gave me an estimate. I gave them the go ahead and they ordered part and fixed it as soon as the part came in. I thought they were very knowledgeable and efficient. The day I was picking it up I was stuck in traffic and they stayed about 5-10 minutes after closing till I got there to pick it up. Good guys would highly recommend

Florian arrived on time as expected and not only solved reported computer problem but made suggestions for use of cloud storage that was very helpful. I never worry about my computers any more because I know that no matter what happens, Pro Computers will get me up and running again with a minimum of time lost and without making me feel like an idiot -- even if I have actually done something stupid. Pro Computers is perfect for non-geeks who need someone to really have their back as a come-when-needed techie. I am so grateful to them!

It went better than expected; less than a wekk from dropping off my laptop to completion.

Chris Bailey is our "go to" guy from PRO Computers. He has been to our residence several times due to printer/network issues and he is great to work with. The latest instance was to install a new wireless router and make sure it was configured properly for our multi-platform household. First off, it was no problem at all to buy the router on our own, he even provided his opinion on the model we had selected online. While we were waiting for the new router to arrive, PRO allowed us to use a loaner to make sure that a new router would address the connectivity issues we were experiencing. When our router arrived, Chris came by to swap them out and made sure all was up to snuff with the various connected computers and devices. PRO has always been very responsive to our scheduling requests and never "oversells". It's great to have a reliable and trustworthy "tech guy" right in our neighborhood.

Great experience from start to end.

Brought in a 1TB external hard drive in for repair. Pro Computers determined that nothing was wrong with it. Their turnaround was quick, and when I asked them to check some additional things for me they emailed me back right away and using professional language. Will recommend Pro Computers to anyone as I am confident that they will be in good hands.

Excellent job took two and half hours hours.

My five-year-old computer was running slowly, particularly on visuals. I was close to giving up and just buying a new one. As a last-ditch effort, I took it to Pro Computers. I got great attention. Two days later I had the laptop fixed and back in my office at a very fair price. After this, I wouldn't dream of getting my computer repaired anywhere else.

Our wireless network connection was no longer working properly; the internet connection was dropping repeatedly. Our backup drives were also on their last legs. Florian spent time on the phone with me to choose the best new gateway/modem for our AT&T ISP and also suggested a network storage solution. I purchased the new modem from an AT&T store and Florian provided the new backup system. When Florian came to install the new hardware, he was unable to establish a connection with our ISP. He spent well over an hour with AT&T tech support and found that I had purchased a defective modem. (I was able to get AT&T to reimburse me for Florian's time.) I ordered a new gateway/modem and we set up a new appointment. Success! Florian is an absolute wizard! The installation of the gateway/modem and the backup system was professional, fast and, most importantly, solved our connection problems! There was a slight glitch with a file pathway on the backup system, but Florian was able to correct it remotely the same day he received my email. I would highly recommend ProComputer and Florian and will definitely call him when I run into computer problems in the future.

As usual they did a great job. I had a dell studio laptop that my kids dropped--the button shattered and we were unable to turn it on. They replaced the button and cover and it works perfectly now.

My computer got a really bad virus the morning after I returned from vacation. I didn't know where to take it and used my phone to do some research. I found Pro computers, but didn't know, until I spoke to Austin on the phone, that they were Angie's List award winners. Truthfully, Austin's confidence and sincerity made me decide to take it there, but the information about Angie's List made my mind up completely. My computer was gone a long time ..over a week. Nick did most of the work, I think. He was terrific and during a couple of phone conversations he took notes about the way I was accustomed to running my computer. When I got it back, the virus was gone. Nick had reinstalled as much as he was able so I had files, documents and pictures, and email accounts. I took my discs over there for Office and he reinstalled that well. I also took the external back up over but he didn't need it. After I brought it home, I still had to have my IT guy come and do 6 more hours of work. Email boxes were there but wouldn't send. There was a lot of detail work that needed to be done; settings adjusted, some folders restored and the discs were here..plus he is the computer whisperer. However, with the exception of one man who works there who was a little abrupt(maybe a bad day), the guys at Computer Pro did a wonderful job. I would recommend them and ( God, please don't let me get a virus like that again) I would use them again.

Honestly evaluated what needed to be done, threw in some extras, PC works fine. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Florian is fantastic -- quiet, focused, expert -- gets the job done with no muss or fuss and calms you down in the process, even when computer disaster has struck. He is knowledgeable but is able to explain things to a non-techy, and if something doesn't quite work the way he thought it would -- which is so often the case with the mysteries of computer networks -- he comes up with another solution immediately. I have had other consultants, and it has taken them far longer to do the work and they have charged more. I LOVE Pro Computers, and I consider them one of the best new resources I've found in a long time.

This is my review of this company, but the third time I have used them. Each time I have brought one of my three computers in with a problem (hard drive crash, fake virus, etc.). They diagnosed the problem with one day for a reasonable fee, clearly explained my options in repair, and what the time and cost would be, fixed the computer within the timeframe give, or before, and for at or less than the quoted cost. No hassles, no add-ons, no-upsells, no hidden costs. And the people are awesome. Unlike Dell customer service, they are knowledgeable, talk to you to explain what is going on and why. And if, after getting the computer home, you have questions about the settings or how to get something to work, they walk you through the process over the phone -- at no additional cost. I have never tried the rapid service or the other services they offer. But I most most highly recommend them as THE place to go if you have computer problems.

I took the laptop in on a Wednesday evening after work, and it was ready to be picked up on Friday. Great turn-around, good service.

I had it in 3X for recurring viruses coming to me under different guises. In each case the work took 2 days, they let you know status of your order by e-mail, when ready to pick up by e-mail also a phone call. Their basic charge is $49 for diagnosis.

I bought my lap top to the store on January 16, described my concerns, and was informed that my lap top would be ready in 1-3 business days. I did not ask for rush service because I did not want to see the lap top for a few days. I was treated in a professional, yet concerned, manner as I want through my list of issues. Three days later I received a call that lap top was ready. Upon arriving, PRO staff started pc and went over issues point by point, showing me where data was restored, where software was located, and how to access it. I definitely recommend to others the services offered atPRO Computers.
