Everything went very smoothly and quickly. Power jack replacement is common in laptops, and they give an upfront price and very fast service. Have used them before on another laptop as well. For the keyboard replacement, the price for a matching color was quite high for the part, and they recommended buying a different color for 1/4 the price, although they would order whichever we wanted. I was happy they offered us the choice rather than just offer the more expensive one, and we went with the cheaper white keyboard. Pricing is very fair, and the work was done quickly. Would definitely recommend.

I brought the computer in on a Saturday morning. In order to get the repairs done quickly, I had to pay $39.95 extra. Although this bothered me, I needed the computer. Pro Computer fixed it within a couple of hours, then I went and picked it up. The computer works now.

They offer an examination and repair estimate for about $39.00 as of May, 2014 (previously $49) and will apply that charge toward any repairs you decide to have done. I found them to be very thorough and trustworthy, and have referred them to friends whose computer had hardware problems or were so loaded with bugs they wouldn't boot up. We found their service to be very reasonable and dependable, with good communication.

Smooth as could be. I brought it in on a Tuesday afternoon and they had it ready by mid-day on Wednesday, which was a day or two sooner than I had expected. They also told me that in the future, these kinds of software problems could likely be handled remotely, so I wouldn't even have to go to their location. These guys are the best. They've been helping me deal with computer problems for many years, and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

David was great. He is located on Belmont Ave. Came to the house at the planned time. Went straight to work. My desktop was running extremely slow and was at 100% CPU usage...my laptop was also running slow even though I had just signed up for Comcast service 3 weeks ago. I also needed files transferred from one computer to the other. David was able to clean up the desktop, get my comcast working much quicker by actually calling comcast and getting me a higher speed for the same price! He also went to my local best buy to buy some needed peripherals. He worked almost 4 hours. I would recommend David to anyone having issues with their home office.

Pro Computers has been providing me with ongoing remote monitoring of my computers s well regular hardware maintenance. They are fast, professional, and effective -- and most of all, they don't talk to me as if I were a tech head or treat me like I'm an idiot. I am so grateful to know they are in my corner and that I never have to worry about computer problems any more.

I was locked out of my computer which required an administrator password . I have a Dell Inspiron laptop which was only 2 years old. I contacted Dell and we tried a temporary password which did not work. To fix the computer would cost $328.00 which included replacing the hardware. I also went to Best Buy to the Geek Squad and they said that it could not be fixed. So I went on Angie's List which I have used several times before. I found Pro Computers. They are located on north Clark Ave and also on 2045 W North Ave which is closer to me. It is hard to find because the sign out side does not say Pro Computers but Crescent Technology. The. Parking is not the best but that is Chicago for you. You have to walk up the stairs to find the office which is in a transitional phase since they recently moved into the bldg. If you can look past the clutter you will be dealing with a very knowledgable staff with reasonable repair prices. I dealt with Triston who gave me a cost of $199.00 which included diagnostic and reprogramming the ROM chipin my computer. I was told that the computer would be ready in 3 days bu it took 1 day longer which was not a problem. I would highly recommend them if you need a computer to be fixed.

Did the job well, but took way longer than estimated. They ordered the wrong part which took even longer - however, they did do the job right in the end and the cost was reasonable. I would go there again

They ordered the parts for me. It was very fast. They kept me up-to-date on what was going on. They were awesome. They were very professional and friendly.

Excellent! They were fast, fair, efficient and reasonably priced. The best part, for a "non-techie" like me, was that they explained what went wrong, how it happened, how they fixed it and gave me tips to help prevent the problem from happening again. I REALLY appreciate their customer service ... with a smile!

Great! The new hard drive and operating system are working great. The PC was a good one and not that old, so spending less than $200 to extended its life was a great investment .

I started to receive error messages after downloading the latest version of software. After an unsuccessful attempt to uninstall and re-install we decided to take it to a professional. We took it in on Saturday before one of the winter storms but they completed the work and had it up and running by Tuesday. We have used them before and were happy with the results.

The tech who came to our home was very thorough and provided advice in addition to repairing the computer. After the second virus developed, Nick, at PRO computer suggested I bring the CPU into the shop to perform diagnostics and remove the second bug. Although I paid for the first in home visit, there wasn't a charge for the shop repair. Everyone in this business was extremely helpful and professional. My computer is now running faster and better than ever before. I was very glad that removing the virus did not necessitate removing all the data from the computer and having to reinstall as was suggested by AT&T. I couldn't be more pleased with their service.

I have used the North Avenue branch, also known as Crescent Computers, a number of times in the past few years for repair of my laptop and laptops belonging to other family members. All repairs have been done well, at good prices and in a timely manner. Explanations of what happened have been helpful. I depend on them. The only time there has been a glitch where they did not get a message I left to proceed with a repair, I was offered a discount to make up for the inconvenience. Tristan who manages this location has always been professional, expert, and helpful. As long as he is there, I will continue to use them for computer repair.

I brought my system to them immediately after getting a message "imminent hard disk failure" on rebooting. They couldn't clone the disk to a new one, so they sent the disk out to Level 2 data recovery. At this point, 5 days had passed, and it took another week for the data to come back - that's what they advised when it was sent out. They loaded the recovered data onto a new system I had bought and brought to them, and was DELIGHTED to find that 98% of the data had been recovered. The process was lengthy, but at all times, they communicated what was happening, kept me informed, and were always willing to discuss my options. This was my first experience using them, but they will now be my first contact in the future when I experience problems.

After an initial misdiagnosis or a malfunctioning operating system, the hard drive was diagnosed as failing. Replaced the hard drive, cpu is running smoothly.

I had been taken advantage of in the past but they came out and did exactly what I needed and didnt try to charge me for anything else. They were polite, professional and on time. They knew exactly what they were doing.

Pro Computers has provided top-notch service for us for the past four years. Florian, owner of Pro Computers, has always been fair, always patient, prompt (in-home service) and trustworthy. He has been "right-on" with his diagnosis of problems and corrections to get our computers up and running. We got Pro-Computers through Angie's List and it has been one of our best decisions. We are appreciative that Florian and his team help remotely, in-house and also have worked on our computers at his store location. We might add that his pricing is fair. Florian and his staff deserve an A++!

1. Called on the phone and was told that if I brought in my computer on a Saturday morning I would have it by the following Friday. Monday was a holiday. I did get the computer in on Saturday morning, but a few minutes before noon. Was told that they could not promise me that I would have my computer by Friday. This was very upsetting to me since I asked in advance. Otherwise would have given an all A rating. 2. The computer was done by Friday morning and the repair man was very helpful and pleasant. 3. He helped me with a couple of things on the phone after got home. 4. All my tool bars were removed and never replaced. Called in asked for help on that and once again the man I spoke to was very helpful. 5. Would return to them again.

I called and was told I could bring in my computer (laptop) the same day. I was helped promptly. I was told that the work would probably be done the next day but to guarantee that timing I would have to pay a premium. I felt it was worth it and I paid to move my job to the front of the line to ensure completion the next day.

You would be foolish not to hire Pro Computer, they are simply the best. I needed work on expanding my C drive on my server, adding new drives and cleaning up and consolidating my drives. I has used Pro Computer a year before to install water cooling fans and to switch out processors in my 6 core computers (he did a great job and was reasonably priced). Before Florian from Pro Computer came to the office we accidentally deleted a folder wrongly named, that folder contained our accounting program with 4 years of data (all our data) for two corporations that included all payroll, tax work for the IRS, accounts payable s, receivables, inventory, everything, absolutely everything. When we went to restore from our back ups we discovered that all our back ups were no good (the people in the accounting dept never checked the back-ups even though they said they had), even our hard media cd's were not good, it was a business's worst nightmare. Pro Computer arrived and immediately went to work, with-in an hour he and another gentleman were looking through my server on site and remotely and instructed us what to do and what not to do. He worked remotely for 2 days to help restore the deleted files. His communication skills are excellent. Florian went through 7tb's of deleted info (from one of our drives) and found one the deleted company files (the 2nd company files were corrupted) which he restored the good files back onto the server. He then corrected the server issues and transferred data from one computer to another and consolidated my server drives and then remapped all the companies computers to the new server drives. No fuss, no drama, he was efficient and thorough, and he did not cost an arm and a leg. I have used other IT people in the past and was never satisfied, they took to much time and their billing was very costly for the work that they had done. From my experience of 33 years of working with computers (and we are knowledgeable) I am absolutely delighted to have found Pro Computer. A desktop computer used for business failed to power up, trapping time-sensitive business data on the hard drive. After explaining the circumstances to a technician at Pro Computers Chicago by phone, we decided to take the machine to their shop for diagnosis and repair or data recovery from the hard drives. My wife took the computer in and it was quickly diagnosed to have a failed power supply. The diagnosis cost only $29, which was then applied to the repair costs. While my wife visited friends near the Pro Computer shop for an hour or so, the power supply was replaced with one that was larger and higher quality than the original. The machine started flawlessly and all data was confirmed to be unharmed on the hard drives. The total cost was about $120. The machine was back in the office and in service the same afternoon. I can't imagine a better service experience or going anywhere else the next time something like this happens.

We have a PC and a laptop. We have had minor and major problems which were thoroughly and promptly resolved by Pro Computers. We have been given help many times on a short turn-around...which we have appreciated. Every issue we have had (you name it) was quickly and easily resolved. Florian has either come to our home (or you can drop off your computer to Pro Computers). Lately, small issues have been quickly and easily resolved when Florian has done a remote in to our computer ... this has worked out quite well. Pro Computers rates a double A+.

Florian, owner of ProComputers, is amazing. I found them from Angie's List and will never go to anyone else for computer assistance. Florian is incredibly responsive, patient, customer-oriented, trustworthy, knowledgeable and nice. Although I usually work with Florian, I have also had good experiences with his employees as well. I have used them repeatedly for upgrading new computers, installing secure home office wireless networks, advice on dealing with computer gaming needs of my teenage sons and misc. troubleshooting. When I had returned from vacation, the Comcast rep has totally messed up our Internet connection. I am field-based for work and work from home-needing access to internet in dealing with the multitude of email and files that I need to review. When I sent out an SOS email to Florian, letting him know what had happened, he had reached out to me before 9AM that day and came over to fix-rearranging his schedule to accommodate. One can access ProComputer's help either in the store (they are located in the Andersonville area of Chicago), remotely or in-house help. I find their pricing very fair for the value and give them a 10 from a recommendation standpoint. Do not go elsewhere, particularly if you live on the north side of Chicago!
