PRO - Technology Professionals

This company did a fine job for me. They got the computer done quickly and I thought I got a very good deal for the quality of the work that they did. They had the computer done when they said that they would and when I called them they would return all of my phone calls.

Went great. Guys were very professional and I was able to follow progress of the job via email.

They took the computer and they took a lot longer with my laptop then they said they would, I had to call them to get it back and when I went in to get it they still had not even started working on it yet. He said that he called me but he never did. I did get my laptop back but now it doesn't work as well as it used to. They also replaced my hard drive and they replaced it with a smaller hard drive.

I had to spend time reinstalling programs.

They could not repair the hard drive but did give me the name of someone that might be able to. They did the check in a timely manner and kept me informed on what was going on. Good service.

I considered having him run the data backup. But I didn't really want to spend the money, so he offered to let me trade in my computer in exchange. Alternatively, he offered to buy my old computer for $150 (as best I can recall) if I decided not to backup the data. So then I got skeptical. Why would he want to buy my computer so cheap, if it was completely dead to the world? I reasoned that maybe there really was nothing seriously wrong with my laptop, and that I shouldn't give it up so cheaply. So then I got a second opinion, and they said the mother board and hard drive were both ruined. o Florian was right after all.

He was very polite, felt very comfortable with him.

Great! The problem was diagnosed by the end of day one, and we were able to pick up our computer by the end of day two. They both called and sent email notifications of their step-by-step progress.

I was very pleased with the work. They were very friendly and helpful, called me back within 2 hours to tell me what was wrong and had a new drive installed by the end of the day. When I went to pick up the computer, they helped me sort through which programs needed to be reinstalled, which they did while I waited. Although I lost all the data on my old drive, they had my computer up and running again quickly.

Just great. The representative showed up as promised, did the work quickly, and charged a fair fee. He also followed up with me to see if all was going well with the new unit.

They were not able to recover data from the external hard drive. That was confirmed by a second vendor. I was not happy with the communication from the vendor. I dropped off the hard drive the evening of Thursday December 6 and they said they would call on Friday with the status. They did not call and when I called on Saturday they said the still not have a status but they would call within the hour. They did not. I finally got a report on Tuesday saying it could not be repaired but they would send it to a second vendor for a closer look for $20. I did and they did confirm no data could be recovered. The second vendor was LWG in Northbrook and they could not have been any nicer. They called right away when they received the hard drive and did the analysis very quickly. I would use them again even though they charge $100 for the initial review as compared to PRO which is free.

After he left I couldn't get on so he had to come back. It may have been my fault but a protocol for a visit should include the user go through the procedure. I was completely satisfied as the company immediately responded to this glitch in excellent manner.

I appreciated Florian's punctuality and accountability. When I called Chicago Computer Repair/Pro Computers during business hours, either my call was answered by Florian or by an associate, or I received a voice mail directing me to the service number where it was answered in person. I found it reassuring that whether I had a major issue or a only a small question, my concerns were important and would be addressed. Florian arrived on time, detailed his pricing which was consistent with his website, and followed through by completing the work when promised. I found him to be thorough, conscientious, focused, forthcoming, and a very nice guy. When I visited the shop I met two other Pro Computer specialists who were pleasant, knowledgeable, and helpful. I was surprised that after they had reinstalled the printer software they asked for no additional compensation. I had a good experience and recommended them to a friend. I wish I could take my car to them.

I was happy that they were able to retrieve my data and restore it to my new computer. They even put the photo's I had on my old computer onto a disc so I would have more room on my new computer. They are just great.

Florian is wonderful and rescued me from a devastating computer crash without losing any important data. He responded immediately to my phone call for help on a Saturday morning, started work as soon as I got the laptop to his office that day, reassured me by phone shortly thereafter that he could retrieve my data and set up everything on a new computer as soon as I could purchase and get it to him. All done by the following Tuesday early morning, with lots of needed reassurance, advice, and help, with new MS Vista system. This is the third time in the past 2 years that Florian has helped me with computer issues. I would take any computer question or problem to Florian with complete confidence. He is efficient, knowledgeable, and kind, a complete professional who is a pleasure to deal with.

I contacted them on-line via email and immediately got a response. I got options for dropping the computer off at their store or having someone come to my house. I dropped the computer off on a Thursday and received a call with an estimate on Saturday. They must have worked over the Labor Day weekend because my computer was ready by Tuesday. Amazingly fast!

5. Called Florian back and explained that I had just received email from Procomputer w/a quote of $129 instead of the $149 that I was quoted by him. 6. Told by Florian that the tech was wrong w/the quote of $129 and since I was displeased w/the poor communication of quotes and policy that I should pick up the desktop and he will refund my $50 for the diagnostic.

They did a great job, but I forgot how attached I am to my computer and how necessary an evil it really is to me. I didn't ask for the expedited service so it took 3 business days (5 days total) to get it back, but everything works very well and I would definitely use them again.

Excellent. I went to the store and he explained what I needed to make the wireless work and said he could do it at my home. He arrived as scheduled, spent an hour - even though he fixed the wireless in less time. He cleaned it up and checked for virus-and he was the first person in years of "IT Departments" to actually explain the problem to me so I could understand.

Diagnosed problem & repaired in timely fashion. Some of the files during the file transfer didn't come out exactly as on hard drive, but I'm happy to at least have them backed up.

When I called to set up an appointment, he answered the phone promptly, set up a time for the next day, and arrived within ten minutes of when he said he would. Although the problem became more complex than he had originally anticipated, he seemed to work efficiently, and he eventually came up with a solution. Even when he grew somewhat frustrated, he expressed a positive, "can do" attitude that I found very refreshing. While the repair took longer, and was therefore more costly than I had anticipated, I am very happy with his work.

Still evaluating work as computer crashed the day after receiving it back. Waiting for recovery DVDs and then will access whether new keyboard is faulty.

Accommodating in setting appointment, fairly punctual, excellent service for decent price.

All they did was the diagnostic. I wanted a second opinion. He wanted $150 to back up the data. *** I would like to update my review, because I gave the original one over the phone and it wasn't captured properly, it seems. Anyway, after finding recommendations on Angie's List for Pro Computers, I took my computer in to Florian to look at. It had completely died, and could not be revived. He did a diagnostic, and said that the mother board and hard drive were no longer workable, and the computer could not be saved. He did say that he could back up my data, and that would cost $150. So his response below is correct. I do feel they did fine job, and have had them do several repairs for me since and have been very pleased. ***

Very responsive, good price, good quality, will go again.
