Description of Work: Work was timely. Workers were friendly and courteous. Workmanship appears to be okay. I would have scored an "A," except: Added work (attic insulation removal) was grossly overpriced. And roof shingle removal debris was a mess. Roofing material (including nails) were left around entire house and both adjacent neighbors yards. No follow up after project was done and trace snow had melted.

Description of Work: Decent, but overpriced windows and doors. Dishonest / high-pressure sales process. Disappointing installation and service. | |We had all our windows replaced along with a front entry door and sliding patio door. Initial price of the project was around $27k but was later discounted to around $21k (15 physical window units, 27 windows based on Power's definitions which double-counts horizontal slider windows). | |Their selling process is pretty annoying. For one, our "60-90 minute" free estimate took over 5 hours on a Saturday afternoon. The sales presentation used misleading facts (e.g. they claim the average price of an installed window is around $1,000, Angie's list says it is between $450-$600; they compare their "premium category" windows to the baseline models of their competitors; the NFRC labels in the presentation didn't match the NFRC labels on the actual windows we purchased even though "they only make one window, and they make it awesome"; etc.) | |They also use high-pressure sales tactics like telling you the price of the project will go up $4,000 if you don't decide to sign the contract the same day. They also have a SUPER annoying policy of requiring both my wife and I to be present during their sales pitch (not very practical when it takes 5+ hours and you have young children). | |We decided to go with Power even after the marathon sales process because we liked the idea of getting everything done at once. They also really sold themselves h****** the quality and professionalism of their installation crews. | |The good points about the actual installation was they were on time and completed all the work in one day. The windows and doors also look very nice and are an improvement from what we had before. | |The bad points about the installation were 1) we found a handful of loose screws laying around the house (not good for bare feet or young children...) 2) one window had a ripped screen 3) the workers trampled/broke two of our exterior pathway lights 4) clear silicone caulk was spilled on the kitchen counter 5) some window trim was broken/splintered when the old windows were pulled out 6) mud and saw dust on the carpets 7) fast food garbage in flower beds. | |During the sales process we were also promised a project manager that would go through each room of the house with us to verify the quality of the installation and have us sign off on our approval. We were told on two different occasions by two different people that "we won't collect any money unless you are 100% satisfied". | |The reality was our project manager never came to the house. Instead I was asked to pay the full balance after the installation was completed and was instructed by the project manager over the phone to take a few days and call him back if I found anything wrong. | |I called the project manager back two days later and left a voicemail sharing the list of my concerns. When he didn't get back to me after 1 day I called him a second time and was able to speak with him and share my list of concerns again. He was very disappointed and promised to take care of it. When I didn't hear from him again after 1 week, I called Power's corporate line, was routed through 3 different people, and was eventually routed back to my original project manager. He did not remember speaking to me a week earlier and claimed the issue had been resolved (it had not...). Third time was the charm though and I was able to get my broken screen replaced, the caulk cleaned up, and the scrap metal in the flowerbed swept up. The pathway lights and trim are still broken. | |Bottom line is our experience with Power Home Remodeling was the typical over-promise and under-deliver. They are way overpriced for the quality of products and service they deliver. We likely would have been better off going with a lower-cost provider.

Description of Work: replaced windows, installed windows without proper (village required) egress, 2nd set of windows were made incorrectly (measurements), final and third set installed fine. in the beginning, were responsive - but then promised call backs were never made; issues with paying village fees were a hassle. we only did the front of the house, but will find someone else to do the back.

Description of Work: Gutters, thought it went okay until roofing estimators took pictures and gutters were not hung properly. Pitch was wrong, dented on the house side. In retrospect I think they are a hard sell, overpriced company.

Description of Work: Previously installed a new roof, complete tear-off. Price was a bit above what I was expecting, but after negotiation, came down to a reasonable price. Great roofing system with ice-dam protection, ventilation, etc., and new faux chimney. Crew was great, painted all exposed vents to match existing trim, cleaned the yard. Recent work included gutter guards and new door.

Description of Work: The company installed 7 windows. The windows came with double pane glass and the frame on the windows matched the siding of our home. The workers were very meticulous and allowed us to take pictures as they were working and also answered any questions that we had. They finished installing the windows in a timely manner. My husband and I are very pleased with the installing of our windows and we will have them to install more windows in the near future. |I would recommend them to anyone who would like to have windows installed. |

Description of Work: Power replaced my fascia and soffits. The cost was a little higher than I cared for, but we decided to replace the gutters as well. Since the house had been neglected before we bought it, most of the fascia board behind the existing cladding needed replacing, which added to the time and expense. I was aware of the issue before we hired Power, so it came as no surprise. | |The workmanship is very good. The workers seemed professional and considerate. However, two days after they left we discovered they and bent the top of our air conditioner. If I was not familiar with electrical and metal work, we would have needed to call a repairman since the damage prevented the fan from operating. I dismantled it and repaired it in a couple hours and we did not notify Power. | |On a more positive note, when I decided I did not like the direction the soffit board was running, they were quick to correct it. | |I was happy with the results and the experience was not painful (which can't be said for a lot of contractors). I feel that they should communicate with the home owner more *during* the work. And I was upset that they did not mention the damaged air conditioner. Overall, though, I would recommend them to a friend.
