The window installation went well. The two installers were quite meticulous to make sure the windows were insulated, caulked, and the flashing installed correctly. My biggest complaint would be the high pressure sales technique they use. If my wife and I didn't need to replace a couple of the windows quickly I would have balked. Their price was also a bit high for the quality of the windows. I'm glad I got them replaced but I went to a different company to get the rest of the windows replaced.

First the salesman inspected the roof and attic to determine what was needed. Then the salesman gave a detailed explanation with samples of the type of roof that his company installs. They installed a new roof and blew installation in our attic. They also installed a NEST thermostat as part of the deal. The roof has a 50 year guarantee. Our electric and gas bill had decreased as a result of the new roof and installation in our attic.

The workers who arrived at my home were very professional, courteous and skilled. The team arrived when they promised, all parts arrived with the workers and the work was done to all the specifications committed to. The workers were friendly and worked until the job was done. If they had any questions they asked for my input. When they were done they cleaned up before leaving. There was no debris left behind when they left. They came to the house several times to take measurements and very my order before the work was performed. Once the work was done they returned to meet with me to ensure I was satisfied. This was probably the best experience I have ever had with a remodeler. I would highly recommend (without hesitation) Power Home Remodeling to anyone needing windows, doors, siding, or a roof.

I would highly recommend power home remodeling group to anyone seeking to have a home project completed. We have used a number of contractors over the years, but this organization rates extremely high in comparison to anyone else we have ever used. In fact, there is no comparison. From sales, to preinstall inspection, to the quality inspection, to the install the process, everything was easy and hassle-free. Special thanks to gear Gersi Hoxha for his sales professionalism and thoroughness as well as Mike Santanelli for his quality inspection and follow through. Great work all around by the install team! This was the first company I had at my house to quote for window replacement. Their sales pitch is very aggressive, but I haven't signed anything up until I was able to thoroughly compare it with the other 3. They did not have the lowest price, but the demonstration of the products and the quality of the windows was excellent, and they'd be able to leave a way better finish on the outside than the competitors, no weird bezels around the new windows. After I decided, I had the salesman com back to another demo and to sign up the papers. I showed him around talked about how the temperature was uneven and how the upstairs was not comfortable on summer time because it was too hot. The guy ended up inspecting my air conditioner and the attic, did some measurements and after some discussion I also hired them to do the "Solar Eclipse" under the roof insulation and blown-in insulation, elevating the current ~R5 I had to R39. A few days after I signed up someone called to schedule the attic job and the windows' inspections. After a a week the inspection was done, another week for the insulation work to be completed and after another month, all windows were installed. The day of the installation of the windows, they gave me a 1 hour arrival window and actually arrived very early and on time. They started by making sure they had space to work in and outside of the house. The project manager was very courteous and coordinated the work really well, he also made sure no new window started before that last was properly finished and the job site was clean. They had 3 teams doing the job in parallel and finished 20 windows and a sliding door in approximately 5 hours. All of them were very competent and I couldn't find one single defect in the work they performed. After the fist window of each type was finished, the project manager demo'ed how to properly operate them. They arrived at 8 and left before 3 with 1 hour lunch break and haven't left any trash behind. Spotless, AAA job. After a month, I called them to replace my front door as well and had the same experience. I'll use them for my future remodeling needs for sure, and recommend them to everyone that needs windows done also.

the initial estimate went on for over 5 hours. My mother and I both felt this was very high pressure sale tactics. The first salesman even brought in some back up about 3 hours into the estimate. I was basically told that there was structural damage on the newest structure of the home. They would sister the joist in this part of the attic. The shed estimate was very straight forward....replace the rotten boards on the soffit & fascia, replace the trim work on the door opening and wrap all with aluminum for maintenance free living. The roof was also getting total replacement on the shed. I signed same night due to being scared out of my mind that the roof was going to fall in on me. I pushed along the installation date due to this unstable structure. I went ahead with installation before my house refinancing was totally thru to keep my house as safe as possible. On the pre-install material list visit, I voiced my concern about the joist and how many he felt he would be fixing in the attic. This person did not even go all the way into the attic to look, just told me not to worry - once they take on this job it was guaranteed for 50 years. When the crew showed up, I asked them when they wanted to get into the attic to start the repairs, pretty much got the same response. The forman then explained to me that they were able to see the joist from the outside of the roof (how that is possible I am still baffled by) and that everything was just fine. Again - the roof is guaranteed for 50 years now. Upon investigation of the shed.....I noticed that the wood on the entrance to the shed was NOT replaced, and the soffit & fascia boards were not totally replaced as well. I went so far as to voice my concerns to the company after completion of the job and there has been response, but just not what I was expecting. I am very pleased with the roof, just not the high pressure sales tactices AND not doing as they said they were going to do.

Slam the door in their face. This company has highly questionable business practices. We wanted to pay cash and they shut us down. What scam do they have going? Sales person wouldn't meet unless both spouses were present. OK. But he took THREE hours. Two hours too long. It took him a good half hour to finally spit out the actual bottom line. We told him we weren't going to sign that night but that, when we did, we would pay cash. He shut down. Wasn't interested in a customer who would pay now. Clearly was only interested in financing a deal. Would not even acknowledge that we said we would pay in full for the job. Totally ignored it. Salesman talked about only doing a few windows, talked about being one of their marketing homes, ignored us saying we don't need to finance. Didn't leave a business card. Didn't leave a real quote - just a number at the bottom of one of their forms. Was not interested in following up. Never followed up on the issues we asked for follow up. The company did send us information about being approved for financing. Clearly they weren't listening when we said we would pay cash. No financing needed. What scam do they have with their finance company????!!!!! Wells Fargo, are you really on the shady side?? Run from these folks. DON'T LET THEM IN YOUR HOME. If this is the way they do business I don't want them touching my house. Don't care how good their windows may be. Their business practices are highly questionable. They compare their closing a sale in one visit to sending an overnight package and how a return visit costs too much. Sorry, the difference in price is about $19,986. What a joke to even use that comparison. Why would they walk away from $20,000 paid in full?? Hmmmm......

We never intend to have customers walk away from an experience with Power feeling like this. However, based on your description, there were some basic elements of our process that were either miscommunicated or lost in translation, specifically as it relates to financing. I'd like the opportunity to discuss this with you directly in order to clarify some of the misgivings you have. I reached out earlier this week to discuss and left a voicemail - please feel free to get in touch with me using the information below at your convenience. We decided to give Power HRG a try after a couple of college students came knocking on the door passing out information here in Orland Hills, IL. Since I was thinking about replacing our very old windows I thought I would give them a shot at our business. All in all we are happy with most everything except for a few things which I'll mention below. Here is a summary of our experience. The first guy that came for the initial estimate was very nice, personable, knowledgeable and we had a nice time even though it lasted over 5 hours despite us trying to push him through because we had other places to be. a couple of weeks later the team came out on a chilly November day and installed 6 double hung windows, recapped all new and old windows including a bay window a garage door and a back door. The cost of $9000 is higher then most places but the windows and capping were very nice and overall we are OK with it. The crew was very nice, efficient, cleaned up and got everything done between 9am and 5pm. After the guys were all done another guy came out to give the final inspection that all work was done correctly and up to expectations. This was fine except that he was really a salesman there to try and put us into even deeper debt by giving us a good discount with the whole Green House thing that other reviewers here described perfectly. He did manage to spend another 3 hours and talked us into insulating most (not all) of the attic in our small 1400 square foot home for the discounted price of $7000. This included their special roof lined eShield insulation (which does keep the attic warmer), some additional blown in insulation (added to the old blown in stuff we had) and also a promotion of the new Nest thermostat (which is very nice and I highly recommend). You can obviously purchase this stuff on your own and either do it yourself or pay someone and save a ton of money but since it's not an easy attic to crawl around on the joists it was easier to have them do it. Being $16000 in debt has not made us happy but the the difference in the house throughout this cold Chicago winter we just experienced was really worth it. Our furnace kicked on much less frequently and most of the house stayed toasty all winter long. The Nest also gets some of that credit as you can control the house temperature from your smart phone and it learns your temperature preferences on it's own and keeps the house the way you like it. The biggest unfortunate experience we had was this little technique that the first salesman used. When we finalized and agreed on everything he went around a put a special Power sticker on every window and area that was going to be worked on. The intention was to make it easier for the crew to identify the places they would work on when they came out later. Not a bad idea especially with most of the stickers going on the windows that they would be hauling away. The problem is that some of the stickers went on our nice sunroom picture windows (because they were to be re-capped). At the end of the project everyone had forgotten to remove these stickers so after a few days I decided to try and peal them off myself only to find they were stuck very strongly and they would not come off. In my determining efforts to succeed, the tinting has been scraped badly and one of the windows cracked on me. It was just a one inch crack at the time but has now grown to over a foot long and creeping further and further. Once this happened I stopped and called Power and explained what happened. They sent a guy out and he removed all the labels. The guy was very nice and knowledgeable and told me to call around and probably expect to pay around $400 to have the piece of glass replaced by someone ($200 glass, $200 labor). I have called a couple of places and can't get a price of less than $800-$1000 just to replace a 51x63 inch piece of glass. I obviously cannot afford this after the amount of money I've already spent, so I am just leaving it for as long as possible and praying that it doesn't come crashing down and injuring one of my grandkids. I was hoping that through Power's insurance and/or their forgetting to remove the stickers in the first place that they would be able to assist us in rectifying this but they did not want any more involvement. I realize that I should not have attempted to remove the stickers and should have called them right way so I do have to take the blame for that but I thought I would save them the trip and just remove the stickers myself. Seemed easy enough. Lesson learned I guess. So overall if it weren't for this unfortunate experience I would be able to give an A rating and recommend to others but because we paid over $16k and still have a bad window to deal with I have to lean more towards a B- to C+ rating.
Description of Work: 1. Replaced 6 windows (double hung so counted as 12) 2. Recapped the new windows, all other windows, garage door and back door. 3. insulation in most of the attic (both roof lined and blown in)

The salesmen were personable, conversational, and knowledgeable. However, getting past these characteristics, its clear the eye is on the sale no matter what. They get a "D" from me because of the following, which admittedly doesn't include a service. 1) They don't tell you up front that your visit can last hours and hours - so the reviews mentioning 7+ hours are no exaggeration and should be treated as an assumption. I have a 1yr old and the idea that despite all the attention and fussing a baby can do they let it gloss over and continue the sales pitch. If you don't state it up front, they won't respect your need for time to do other things for the entire day. 2) My 1yr old developed a fever and became ill during the afternoon. Despite my kid throwing up right next to the salesman from it, there was no professional courtesy made to wrap up the sales pitch or reschedule, so that mom and dad could take care of their infant. We could have made that request but actually were interested in the product. Still, it would've been the stand-up thing for them to do proactively; instead, he went on for hours and hours after. 3) In getting us to commit to the initial discount offer, our salesman informed us that Illinois has a law giving residents 3 days to back out with no penalty. He said it was very awkward to address, but did all he could to say Power is not above the law but he would gladly accept our agreement and handshake that we would not cancel with Power - that we'd be satisfied with their work. This sent up every alarm in the book from our end. 4) At the conclusion of the sales pitch, our person repeatedly asked to have an alcoholic beverage with us. The first and second time we said no or didn't answer. The third time we obliged so he would quit asking, but said he couldn't drink it in our house. It was late and snowing hard - I'm not going to watch some one drink a beer then hop in the car! There were enough things to be cautious about from our interaction with Power that we will keep them in our file for home remodeling, but probably won't follow through with them. I'm sure the product is fine, but the sales/estimate was a real turn-off.

* ESTIMATE WENT ON FOR 7 HOURS-NO JOKE!! * * APPOINTMENT WENT FROM 6PM - 1 AM !! * * 4k HIGHER THAN ANOTHER CO. USING SAME - MATERIALS/INSTALL. TECHNIQUES * We have now owned our home for 2 years and love it, but as homes do, it will be needing a new roof, and soon, so when a man rang our doorbell from a roofing company we figured it couldn't hurt to see what this company had to say. We set up an appointment for the next week on a Monday evening at 6:30 , but contrary to what has been said previously by this company about their "all homeowners must be present at time of estimate" no such thing was required. In fact, the woman who called, (one of 4 calls to confirm this appt. might I add---one really would have sufficed), she asked if I was married and when I told her I was and that we own the home together never once did she say we both needed to be there. I'm sure she was caught off guard when I gave another woman's name as the person that I'm married to as I am also a woman, but our marriage is a legal and real one, and would assume they would want to be sure their"education and no confusion" policy would apply to us as well, assuming that is the true reason behind their requests of above couples. That never did happened, to us anyway, which makes me wonder why the woman above was required to have her husband with her. My wife was asked if she was married while confirming the appt. which we thought an odd question given we were simply confirming an appt. for an estimate. We had not ever been asked that question while getting an estimate from any company for any reason, but believe we've put that together and now know all too well what "confusion" can take place and the "confusion" they may have been wanting to avoid. Our estimate was set for 6:30 on a Monday evening. The salesman, a younger and somewhat attractive man around 25 years old shows up at 6 unannounced. A half hour early left us without having our dinner and in a bit of a rush, but aside from that didn't do any real harm. We invited him into our kitchen to sit with us there which he did. He explained their product, which we have no complaints about aside from their estimate being 4k higher than another company that uses the exact same materials and also a company that Power themselves recommended to us. The process of just the estimate took a little over 5 1/2 hours, about 3 1/2 hours longer than we were told it would take. It ended with our telling him we would have to consider and discuss going with them, but that in no uncertain terms would we be signing anything tonight to which he claimed to understand. That's when things got WEIRD !!! By this time it was nearing 11 p.m. and it was clear, or really should have been clear that we were hungry and tired and no longer wanting to discuss roofs. The salesman kept saying he was packing up and leaving but didn't seem to be doing anything of the sort. In fact at around MIDNIGHT he went and sat on our couch in the family room for a long while looking as though he expected us to join him!!!!!! He had winked at us both throughout the night but we didn't think anything of it, until then anyway! It hit us like a ton of bricks, THIS was the "CONFUSION" they were looking to avoid!! We obviously did not join him on our couch and finally got him out of our home a little after 1 a.m.!!!! A 7 hour estimate and one that went until 1 am on a Monday evening/ Tuesday morning as it were. We still cannot believe this all really happened, but it did and hope this serves as a heads up to anyone considering even a simple estimate from this company. I'm not sure how else we should take his hour long, middle of the night, uninvited, load-off on our couch aside from the impression we were both given by him and the conclusion we drew from that. Believe it or not a 7 HOUR ESTIMATE would have been more than enough fun, but with the added twist it was an experience worth sharing in hopes of sparing others the same. We debated putting a review up at all given the bizarre and bold nature of that visit but we once again arm our house alarm and leave our trust in ADT. If you want a high end roof, power has those, but be warned it also comes with a whole lot more!!
Description of Work: estimate for roof...that took 7hrs! We're still wondering if this really happened

We purchased from Power because the sales guy was really professional, and really convinced us of the quality of their product and their installation. There was no pressure, and gave us several options. Everything was covered with a lifetime warranty. The windows were super energy efficient, sound proof, and virtually unbreakable (the guy pounded a nail into a block of wood with a sheet of their glass, amazing). And he said they could do it all in one day. So we decided to just do the whole project at once. I haven't been dissapointed. I got a call 4 days before confirming the crew would arrive between 8 and 10. The morning of install I got a call at 7 am that they were on their way and they basically arrived right at 8. They moved surprisingly swiftly. It was about 15 degrees outside, so they removed one window at a time and quickly put a new one in place. The biggest surprise was how tidy they were about it. As soon as they put a window in place, they vacuumed the area. Even though they were coming in and out, they put on booties every time and I never saw a footprint on my laminate from the window guys. Eventually they finished the inside with a super classy vinyl trim that made it look like the window had always been there. The door guys did a great job too. The project manager arrived about half way through the project and spent some time with me running through how to work the windows, reminded me of the warranty and assurred me anything was covered. He gave me his card and offered to be the contact for any issues, which was great. Overall I'm really thrilled with the doors and windows. The products are beautiful, and they really are pretty sound proof. I have a busy 4 lane road behind my house that I've always just heard constant road noise from. Now it's silent! I definitely noticed the cold in the house is gone too. I'd definitely use these guys again. If I had one annoyance, it would be with the Quality Assurance guy they sent out about 2/3rd of the way through the day. I thought he was there to make sure they were doing it right, but he was really just a sales guy. He asked me how I'd rate the work, and how I'd rate the impression given by everyone I've dealt with, both of which I rated perfect. Then asked if I was a member of Angie's List. I said I was, and then he pulled the site up on his iPad and tried to get me to log in and give a review right then and there. I refused, and said I'd do it on my own time *after* the work was actually done and I'd lived with it for a few days. He backed off, and said it was for the review discount they offer and then gave me an email to send my review to in the future if I wanted. So that was annoying. Then he asked if there was ever anything else I'd want to do in the future, that he'd be happy to measure and quote a price that would be good for 5 years for when I'm ready. Okay, that sounded nice so I told him the gutters, fascia, and soffits were next. So he went ahead and went outside to measure. He comes back in later, and gives me the sales pitch on the quality of the gutters and the gutters and the gutter protections (which sounded amazing) and gives me the price. I wasn't prepared to do any more work since it was a serious stretch for this huge project already and I'm still in the middle of other projects, so I thanked him. Then the sales pitch came. So Power does this neat thing where they can pull a map up on their iPad of all the work done in your area. He explains that they have a program called "the Green House." On the map were mostly blue houses where people had done work, but a few of them were Green. The Green Houses, he explains are folks who had had work done and were so impressed with Power they had additional work done. The original sales guy had mentioned this too, but I took that to mean they followed up with additional projects weeks or months later. Which to me was still impressive. But apparently it means they signed on for more work that very same day (apparently before the work they were currently doing was even done!). He explains they cut out all the marketing costs and overhead to get a "Green House" because it'll help them get additional work in the future because it proves people were so impressed they added work after seeing the quality of the work they did. So if I signed on that day, they could basically cut the price in half. I admit, the discounted price was very tempting and I'd love to save thousands, but it was still several thousand he was asking me to commit to before the current project was even done and after I had just spent over 20k with them. The other "green houses" he showed me on the map were folks who did 4 windows first, and then did 2 more windows. Smaller projects. No one had the laundry list of work I was having done, followed same day by another laundry list. That's insane. I declined. He then reworked the numbers now offering a 0% financing option and gave me a monthly number. Again, very very tempting. But I explained I had stretched myself already to do this massive project (the biggest by far on all the little houses they showed of other work done in the area). He then starts to compile a third option, I think gutters only, and I just had to tell him to stop. There was just no way I was committing to more money that very day. And unfortunately that option was only offered that very day. He thanked me and packed up. It wasn't until he left that I realized he hadn't left any of the numbers. He hadn't even left me anything with the original price that was supposedly good for 5 years. So that experience left a bitter taste from an overall outstanding experience. The thing that annoys me too is about two days later I probably would have agreed to the discounted price after having time to evaluate my finances. But he made it sound like a one-time offer so I'm not even bothering to call them. Again though, the unfortunate selling pressure before the first project was even done aside, the overall work was outstanding. I'm extremely picky and can't find anything to nit pick about in their work. The windows and doors are beautiful and do all the amazing things they said they would. The install was amazingly clean. And I'm happy with the work. In the future I hope to have them do my gutters, fascia, and soffits. Just not the same day, geez.

They were very efficient and cleaned up everything. The results look great. The supervisor stopped by to see how things were going every day. At no time did I feel inconvenienced having them doing the work. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Power to others. Neighbors have commented on how nice it looks.

It went well. Unfortunately, they had to replace the almost all the wood on our roof. It was an original roof and it was old and weak. It's much better now. It's amazing. The house stays much cooler now. It has a good temperature. We're not losing heat. Their price wasn't as competitive as the other quotes we have gotten but we felt that the quality of their materials and workmanship would be better, so it's worth paying a little more.
Description of Work: We have used Power Home Remodeling Group for our roof. They tore down and replaced our roof. It was for the boards, shingles and everything. The next day, they also came out and did the faucet, the fascia and the gutters.
