Completely professional job from start to finish. We were approached by a representative because Power was doing a job down the street. He was very friendly and informative, but no pressure. We called and had a salesman come to the house. It did take a few hours for him to inspect the property and see what needed to be done. He was very knowledgable and helpful. He showed us all of the materials and took us step by step through the process. The job was done in two days. It was a great job. The men worked very hard and spent extra time making sure the cleanup was complete. We received a few calls from the project manager while the job was being done, just to make sure everything was going smoothly. Immediately following completion of the project, we had a visit from quality control. The job was inspected by him, and he sat down with us to get our feedback. He also made sure that we received our warranties and knew how to reach the company should there be a problem. We were extremely satisfied with their business and professionalism. Their price was slightly high end, however, the materials were quality and the warranties are excellent.
Description of Work: Removed three layers of roofing shingles. Replaced rotted wood beneath. Laid new shingles on main roof and room addition pitched roofs. Installed new ventilation system. Installed new gutters and downspouts around entire house.

Power was very professional in sales and installation. The windows appear to be high quality and were installed quickly and professionally. The job was completed on time and with minimal disruption to the home. We were so pleased with the service and quality that we are having the final 2 windows in our home replaced as well as having a new front door installed and replacing outmoded gutters. Having Power Remodeling listed with an excellent rating on Angie's List was a significant factor in our decision to move ahead with the project.

It didn't. We had one appointment about a month ago that I was not able to keep due to a family emergency. On 8/26, I received a call on my cell phone to reschedule. As a prior review mentioned, they insisted that both my husband and I were home for the estimate. Well, we work different shifts and are not home together during the week so it was incredibly difficult to find time. Finally, because the sales person was so pushy, we set a time for 10:00 a.m. on 8/28. I was working from home and rearranged a prior appointment so I was available. This requirement for both of us to be home is entirely unnecessary. My husband is a fully capable adult and can relay information to me from an estimate - he is also fully capable of making decisions without me. On 8/28, this company called my home phone at approximately 8:00 a.m. to confirm the appointment. They spoke with my husband and he confirmed everything. I then received FIVE CALLS on my cell phone within the next 90 minutes (8:15, 8:52, 8:56, 9:17 and 9:41) - not one message - from the company. I didn't answer as I was on a work call at the time and wasn't available to talk. No one ever showed up for the appointment. The appointment for 10:00 was confirmed over the phone by my husband less than 2 hours earlier, and no one showed up. No message, no attempted call on the home phone, nothing. I also was originally approached door to door because they were "doing work in my area." It wasn't until later I realized that this door to door tactic is actually against city ordinances unless they have a permit to do so. Rest assured, I won't make that mistake again. I read the company response to another review and it says, "when we leave a sticker price and aren?t able to deliver the estimate to both homeowners, the individual that was absent isn?t aware of what is built into the quote..." but as I mentioned, my husband is fully capable of relaying that information to me. My opinion is that they want both of us there so that they can push for a signature on the spot for the work. Every other home improvement estimate we have ever received included a statement of work. I wouldn't know if this company offers one since they never showed up for our CONFIRMED appointment, but if not then I wouldn't do business with them anyway. Overall, I am extremely frustrated with this company and their business practices. Pushy from the start and relentless to the end, not following through on confirmed appointments, and some very questionable requirements for an estimate all reinforce the decision to not agree to a reschedule (if they even offered it) and eliminate this company from any future projects we may have.

I’d like to apologize for any undue frustration or inconvenience. We certainly do not intend to impart these emotions on our customers - it isn’t good business, nor does it result in the experience we’re attempting to create. After reading your review, I looked into your customer profile to try and understand what went wrong on our end. Unfortunately, this is a case of human error and an honest - and unusual - mistake was made by one of our better Confirmation Agents. After speaking to your husband earlier that morning, our representative mistakenly pressed the wrong button within our system - instead of dispatching a remodeling consult to speak with you and your husband at the scheduled time (which is what should’ve occurred), our representative incorrectly clicked the button for “wrong number” (your husband’s cell) - which automatically triggered attempted phone calls to your cell phone, which was the other number on file, to again confirm the appointment. I know all of this won’t make you feel any better about the time and opportunity wasted, but I wanted to provide you with this information so that you didn’t walk away thinking this was a case of gross negligence or a failure to respect your time. Here at Power, we truly do try and do right by our customers and, while you may not be interested in doing business with us anymore, I wanted to reach out and apologize regardless. Please know that we’ll be using this unfortunate error as a chance to re-train the department and message the importance of attention to detail. Fantastic service from the pitch all the way to the finish product and quality control visit. This is a company that is proud about their product and it reflects right away, so much that they inspired trust. The work on my gutters was terrible (from when I purchased the house) and I was interested in fixing it, but didn't know where to look, or I didn't wanted to be taken advantage of (We all have seen #Catch a Contractor with Adam and Chip) but the Power guys put all that to rest once they started the presentation about their products and work they do. WHEN have you heard that a company guarantees their work for life??? (we're talking about roofing, gutters, windows and doors) or that the people that do the work are not sub-contractors (like Home Depot, Menards or Loews), so that gave me the boost I needed to trust this guys even more. I loved the work they did so much that I already schedule them to come do my doors (which are also guaranteed for life) so it was a no-brainer. They do Roofs, Windows, Doors and gutters as I mentioned before, so if you're looking for this type of services, look them up in Angie's List or Google, and find out why is smart to go with a company that cares for their clients from the beginning to the end. The sales pitch might take long but if you ask politely to move forward with the estimate, I'm sure that the guys will understand.

This review is focused on an attempt to setup an estimate. I was approached at my front door by a representative of the company to provide me with a free estimate (said they were in the area doing work on other work). I will say he was a personable, good guy...not pushy and very respectful. To schedule the estimate, he had me talk on his cell phone to someone in the main headquarters (alittle odd I thought). She was insistent on setting up the estimate the next day for my wife and I. I told her 4 separate times my wife is unavailable but she kept pushing for me. She finally confirmed an appt for me with the estimator the next day. At the end of the day, the original guy and his boss came by and said the person in the HQ actually did not setup the appointment and they wouldn't set it up unless my wife was present. I said my wife at this time is very busy with schedules as am I and that the estimator and I can meet alone. They wouldn't setup. I told them thanks, but I will not proceed forward. The next 2 days, I get calls from the company asking to setup a meeting (they'd call and not leave a vm). When I was available when they called, the sales person was pushy and sales-like...using sales tactics on the call. You don't have to sell me! I wanted to setup an appt. but you won't because my wife is unavailable for the meeting. I told this guy several times, and in all honesty, between the calls and no vm's, and his pushy attitude, I felt it was on the boarder of being a nuisance and told him...then he hung up on me. They preached the importance of being together for the meeting. With all due respect, I was willing to meet and provide them with an opportunity for business, and they kept to their guns on this policy. On top of that, they were pushy (outside of the 2 gentlemen at my door who I said prior, were very cool). I wouldn't trust them as a company because of these tactics.

Thank you for taking the time to write and leave a review. While we regret that you did not have a positive experience with Power, I wanted to address some of your concerns so that you better understand why we've structured our process the way we have. It is true that we request all homeowners be home at the time of the estimate. As you know, a home improvement project can be a very intimate experience - you're opening up your home to a company and are trusting them to do the right thing with, arguably, your most precious possession. We want all people involved in the decision to be completely comfortable and aware of what to expect in the process, that way we can ensure the best experience possible. Furthermore, when we leave a sticker price and aren’t able to deliver the estimate to both homeowners, the individual that was absent isn’t aware of what is built into the quote – they just see a number with no context, which makes it difficulty to get a true understanding of the value you’re getting for your money. Again, we regret the fact that you did not enjoy your experience, but hopefully you can understand why we prefer that all homeowners be present at the time of the estimate. If you'd like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact me directly using the information below. The work was completed over a three day period. Each item had a separate crew. The workmanship was great. I think the clean up could have been a bit better as I have found lots of nails they didn't pick up. The product is great. I love the lifetime warranty. All the workmen were very nice. I liked the contact by phone the project mnanagers provided each day. I would highly recommend this company. I hope to have them do my siding in the future.

Definitely prompt..said they'd start at 8 am and they did.....took longer than expected due to unexpected downpour at 1pm..finished job around 9 pm in the rain...could have cleaned up a little better, but it was dark and raining. We couldn't inspect the job until daylight the next day, and only wish the edge vent system would have continued all the way across the front of the house, instead of stopping at the porch. Visually, it looks wrong...The roof is vented over the garage, but tapers to nothing over the porch, when its all one roof line. ...even if you cant vent an area without an attic, there should have been a continued lift on the remaining roof line. Husband did find one bath vent not connected to roof vent..and debris in gutters, but overall, there a was a trailer full to the brim with debris, and they hauled it away. One major problem was it was 90+ degrees outside...ac was on inside the house...Husband asked if we needed to shut off ac since they were covering the compressor with plywood and tarp..foreman said it wouldn't hurt the unit, and to leave ac on... Ended up overheating the unit and needed to contact ac company to reset the compressor. Foreman needs to be more knowledgeable about ac compressors, ventilation required, and consequences created by misinformation. We have a future appointment to have the solar eclipse and blown in insulation done, so the job is not technically finished.
Description of Work: Removed 2 layers of roof including decking , replaced with new vent system , all new decking, and shingles. Solar Eclipse and blown in insulation to follow.

I can't comment on the products, which in this case were 18 double hung windows and a sliding patio door and front door. I CAN comment on the sales tactics, which were focused and aggressive. I was approached the day before the estimate by an employee scheduling the estimate. I figured "why hot?", because my windows, which are about 12 years old, are contractor grade, are not very efficient, and some are having seal issues, as evidenced by haziness inside the panes. It was clear that both my wife and I must be home for the estimate. The sales representative arrived on time at 6:30pm and was very personable. He warmed us up, but hadn't even started measuring our windows until about an hour into it. He had an Ipad with a presentation on it that he went through slide by slide. It was so long, I feel I should get some sort of certification for enduring it. A lot of the presentation focused on the company's awards and reputation. Okay, I get it; you don't have to spend an hour blowing trumpets about your company. I can check this stuff out for myself, and do before I sign anything. He had several live demonstrations that were fun enough to do if you enjoyed High School Physics class (I did). Then he goes on about hidden costs, and what it really costs to get windows put in. He showed some estimates from other sources that looked really high to me, but didn't mention the price of their windows. This was getting looooong. So I cooked him a burger since we were all in a low blood sugar state. He brought two cases of cutaway samples, and a case with a built-up window demonstator. He also brought in a laptop with an internet card that couldn't get a signal. We're in a suburb built in a rural area. I let him connect to our wifi because I'm a nice guy and I wanted to speed things up. Fat chance. Finally at about 11:00pm, he finally has a price for us. (drumroll please.....) 30,000 dollars. For 18 windows, sliding window and front door. Gulp. Oh, but (wait for it) if you sign tonight we can get them for 27,000. Sorry, fella. If I had that kind of money, I would be commuting in a BMW. I don't. His last offer, if we let them take pictures of the installed windows and let them use them for marketing purposes, was a little over 24,000. Think there's a little wiggle room on price here? I finally got him out of the house at 11:45. I wake up for work at 4:00am, so I'm a little fatigued as I type this. If you read this entire review, then you MAY have the endurance to make it through their "free estimate" process. If your time and sleep are valuable, as mine are, then you should proceed with caution and set a time limit, and state up front that nothing will be signed that day.

It went very well. When the old gutters were taken down, I could see that had removed some of the "flashing" in some areas and not in others. I questioned them on it and had concerns that perhaps they were going to reuse some of the old worn and misshapen flashing. So the contractor informed me kindly that he would replace all the flashing. I then had asked for the gutters downspouts extend out toward the sidewalk so that the water coming down from the gutter would not be near the base of the home and they again were very accommodating. They did a complete cleanup. (Although I did find one old gutter bracket) Not a big deal. They went all around the home with me to see that I was satisfied. And I agree with a lot of the other reviews-the sales pitch is way too long. That could be a big turnoff. But I am very happy with the results from Power Home Remodeling.

We are thrilled with our new roof and siding. The new siding totally changes the back of the house! We also think that the roof vent is already saving us air conditioning bills (although we had to replace our furnace in March, so it could also be the new coil). However, our master bedroom and office are in the attic/dormer and are usually blistering hot in the summer without a window A/C unit. So far, we haven't had to install the window unit this summer. The project manager, supply/operational manager, and the men working the job were on-time, professional, and courteous. They also seemed dedicated to safety. Hard hats were used most of the time, and all workers on the roof used safety ropes. The siding was put on over a two-day process. The only glitch with the siding was that the supplies did not show up before the two-man crew--nor had I been informed to expect an early shipment. However, the crew was able to quickly track down our siding, which was a special order supply, and it was delivered about 90 min. later. In the meantime, they started removing our siding. I was impressed by their craftsmanship. The siding is just beautiful. For both projects, the crews were thorough cleaning up. We've done lots of yard work and landscaping so far this summer and haven't found one roofing nail, old or new, on our property.
Description of Work: Power completed two projects for us: a tear-off roof and replacement siding. The roofing job involved: ripping off our 16-year-old roof; replacing some rotted wood near the chimney; adding an active roof vent system; and, of course, re-shingling the house. We have a brick-and-stone house, for the most part, so the siding was for the two gable ends and the back dormer. We chose a cedar-shake style vinyl siding. Power wrapped the windows that are in sided area to with vinyl to match the new siding. The roof and siding come with a 50-year warranty that is transferable to new owners.

When setting up an estimate, I was surprised that the company wanted both my husband and me to be present. That is because the estimate is a lengthy sales pitch that I can only compare to a time share sell. The gentleman was in our house for three hours on a Friday evening, and despite my stating early on that we would not agree to purchase a roof on the first visit, he continued to pressure us. The ridiculous $36,000 price quote - we've had five other estimates, all in the $10,000 range - dropped lower and lower every time I said "no." Every time I tried to encourage him to leave, he started to pack up but then stopped to delve into another pitch. I do not trust a company that uses such high-pressure tactics.

I had all my windows, sliding door, and entry door done by PHRG. The interactions I had with the crew, the project managers, and VP of installations was appalling, disrespectful, and dishonest. On the day of Installation the crew just came inside without introducing themselves. They started setting up everywhere in different areas of the house at the same time. There were power tools everywhere and my family and I felt like we were guests in our own home. There was nowhere safe we coulld go especially with a toddler in the house. We were in the kitchen when they installed the entry door. We all saw them DROP the door. As a result the glass on the sidelight shattered. When this happened no one bothered to come talk to us. They kept on installing the door as if nothing happened. I had to go up to one of them to demand some answers. I asked if I was getting a new door and the crew leader just simply said no, the sidelite will be fixed with new glass and shrugged it off like it was no big deal. He did not go into more details. Then the quality manager came. His role was to inspect the work being done. He looked at a few windows and addressed the damaged door, he initially claimed the damage could of happened during shipping. I pointed out to him that the damage occurred when the crew DROPPED the door. He said another appointment will be made to fix the sidelite once the glass comes in and they boarded up that section. Then the Vice President of installation showed up and apologized that the damage occurred during shipping. I had to remind yet another person that the damage occurred when the crew DROPPED the door. He stayed for less than 5 minutes and left. The quality manager then started selling me a roof. He was very pushy and pressured me on the sale. When I didn't accept the offer he was in a hurry to leave. He didn't inspect any more windows (what he was there to do to begin with). I thought it was extremely inappropriate for him to pressure me to do another project when the original project was not even completed yet. When the crew finished they were quick to leave too. They didn't ask me if I had any questions. I was promised during the preinstall appointment that someone from Power was going to do a room by room check with me to make sure I was satisfied with the finish product and to answer any of my questions. That did NOT happen. One of the many lies that they told me. The senior project manager called later to see how the install went. I raised above complaints and he came out the next day to address my concerns. In the interim I noticed various holes in the wall near the window and trim. Some of the trim was not aligned anymore and some even had cracks. When the senior project manager came he was extremely rude and disrespectful. He basically minimized my concerns and literally asked me "what's the big deal?" He told me it was normal to have holes here and there during install and that it happens all the time. He said I signed a document saying that I agreed to this. I signed NO such agreement. I would rember signing a document that says it's ok to damage my house! In regards to the door, He said it was an accident and that I should be more understanding. He got the VP of install on the phone and he was just as elusive. When I asked for a discount for the inconvenience he belittled me and accused me of haggling for a discount. He was so rude I had to ask him to leave my house. I had to wait 6 weeks for the glass on the sidelight. In the interim I immediately noticed cracks in the glass of the actual door no doubt from the DROP and a draft. When I contacted PHRG the VP of installation came to the house to look. He did not acknowledge the cracks, and said was just the design on the glass, he also said there was no draft. He was either blind, dishonest, or incompetent. By this time I had asked for a new door numerous times but no one was taking me seriously. I had a huge problem with paying close to $8000 for a damaged door! When they came 6 weeks later to fix sidelight my brother in law was also present and he raised the concern of the door being warped. The the door was measured and it was concluded that it was warped and that I needed a new door. I was asking for a new door from the beginning. Now I had to waste more of my time. The new door was ready in 4 weeks. So 2 months later the project is finally complete. After all the stress and missed work. Again, I asked for a discount and the warranty specialist offered me $250 gift card. What a joke! He said PHRG has done everything they could to resolve the problem and they had already spent a lot of money on this project. What does that even mean? They have done nothing in addition to what was already included in their warranty. I did not take that gift card. $250 definately not enough for what they put me through and the income I lost for the 2 extra days of work I had to take off for the damage they initially caused. UPDATE: After further discussion I was offered a fair compensation for my inconvenience which I accepted. I have been asked by PHRG to update my review to reflect this which I agreed to do. However, I still stand by my above review 100%. This was an honest and ACCURATE account of what happened. I couldn't make this up if I tried. PHRG did NOT acknowledge the mistakes and they did not make "extensive efforts to reach a mutually satisfactory conclusion" until I posted this review.

It was a lot of windows and bay windows. They were very efficient, very clean. They gave us a appointment. Price wise the only thing I will say is that first time initial they gave us a higher price. They called us after that, we didn't go with them because it was a higher price as well. They called us after that and saying that there was a promotion and it lowered it a lot. My husband was like, why didn't they just give us this price from the beginning. They did a great job. They were here 1 day, from morning till about 4 o'clock. They did all the windows and sealed all of them. They knew exactly what they were doing. They clean after and everything.

A door to door marketing guy, Luke, from Power Home Remodeling Group came to my door yesterday (4/30/15) and offered a "free no obligation Estimate". He gave me his cell phone and I confirmed an appointment for today (5/1/15) at 12:00 with a lady on the phone. While on the phone she asked if I had any obligations and when a good time would be for a free estimate. I let her know that I work from home and that the afternoon would be fine but it would need to be before 3 since I had a business call at that time. The conversation went something like this: Me: Sometime in the afternoon would work, but before 3. PHRG Phone Rep 1: How about 10? Me: No I said in the afternoon. PHRG Phone Rep 1: Would 11:00 be better? Me: Um, no. I mean after noon PHRG Phone Rep 1: So 11:30? Me: As in after 12:00...after?noon. PHRG Phone Rep 1: Ok so 12:00 works Me: Yes that will be fine. To me it seemed like they were trying to book as much time before 3 (my cut off) as possible. I said good by and passed the phone back to Luke. He then told me I should expect a phone call to confirm the appointment. In between then and the confirmation call another meeting, from my boss, was added to my calendar at 1:15. I figured no big deal, I have gone through the replacement windows estimate process on my last residence with 7 other contractors and they all took under an hour. 8:30AM I received a call to confirm my appointment. I confirmed the time and all other information. The PHRG Rep is about to conclude the call when he asks: PHRG Phone Rep 2: "We don't want to be an inconvenience or step on your toes so I want to ask if there is any obligations you have in the afternoon?" Me: "I have a business meeting at 1:15, but I work from home so I need to be done by 1:00" PHRG Phone Rep 2: **Laughs** (D rating for professionalism). Um Sir, we need more than an hour. Will another time work? Me: I am not really willing to commit to much more than an hour for an estimate. How much time do you need? PHRG Phone Rep 2: We don't have a set time since you may have questions and we need to go over the company, explain the products, take measurements, and give an estimate. Me: Ok what if we just do windows? (no roofing) PHRG Phone Rep 2: We will still need more than an hour. The window is from 12-1, which means the rep can show up any time during that time since they may be coming from previous appointments. (that is not what an appointment at noon means. Neither Luke or the other PHRG phone rep 1 said anything about a "window" of time) Me: Really, just for Windows? PHRG Phone Rep 2: Yes Me: Look I have had 7 replacement contractors come to my previous residence so I am pretty familiar with vinyl windows and every one of those vendors was able to measure and give an estimate in under an hour. So unless you can commit to a max time that I can schedule around, I can't do it. PHRG Phone Rep 2: Ok I will cancel everything out for you. Me: Thank you PHRG Phone Rep 2: Please give us a call if you time becomes more flexible in the future. Me: Goodbye. Its not about my time being more flexible, it is about not taking up more time than needed for a estimate. How is not giving a typical appointment window being respectful of my time?? It really sounds like PHRG wants to just do a full out sales pitch and heavy hard sell. I am sorry but "Free ESTIMATE" does NOT equal "hours of hard selling". Don't get me wrong I know the free estimate is a way for contractors to get in the door and represent their company, it just doesn't need to be that long. I can figure out what a company is all about on their website. That is how the modern world shops and gets their information these days. I just need the rep to give me a honest quote and quality demo to compare with the other 7 contractors who got all that done in under 1 hour. Here is the breakdown I was hoping for in my PHRG 1 hour appointment: 10 min - Company overview (like I said this is on the website) 15 min - Product and quality demo 15 min - Measurement (I did all my windows and doors in under 15 so I am sure a professional can do it faster) 10 min - Estimate given 10 min - Extra time for questions (I don't need that much since I have had many other contractors educate me and I know what I am looking for) F rating for responsiveness sine PHRG were unwilling to adjust their sales presentation (free estimate) to the needs of the customer. Most other contractors have always asked if they were the first. When I told them no, they all skipped over the education portion and just gave me something they felt differentiates their company in both quality and other whole company metrics. I am willing to get an estimate from PHRG and consider them if they will work with me to setup a meeting that makes sense for everyone.

Although the original sales pitch is long, the quality of the roofing is outstanding. The workmanship was excellent. All the workers and their supervisors were professional and courteous. Our large, very complex roof was completed in two days. Quality control personnel stopped by frequently to ensure the job was being done correctly. Clean up was immaculate, with my yard looking better after they were there than before. Their cost is higher than others, but you get what you pay for. We had other companies do patching in the last several years, but they left poor joints that leaked and used inferior shingles. This roof supplied by Power Home Remodeling Group looks excellent, and it survived this latest large snowfall and melt without a single issues. We feel very confident that any issues that may come up will be handled well by them, In fact, we have hired them to replace some exterior doors in the near future.
Description of Work: Complete reroofing of a 6,000 square foot roof. Included high quality GAF architectural shingles, new venting systems, better leak control around corners, chimney, gutters, and other joints. Their system creates a much higher quality roof structure for us.

If you do not have interest in learning a little about what you are buying, I'd recommend you NOT use Power. If you DO want to know a little about what you're buying, it is worth your time to listen up and understand why every member of their team is so professional, psyched about their company and what's in it for you...I've bought windows before and found 3 ex-cons fighting in the yard (the installers) who took 3 days to put in one patio door when they sobered up. So...I was a little leery. I purchased 4 replacement windows, and had no intention of doing so, so I guess I'm susceptible to good information. The installation was part of a process that involved the marketing guy who intro's you to the company, the product and the pricing. Followed by a pre-installation rep that comes to your house, remeasures, confirms an installation date, and provides answers to questions about the installation. Followed by a phone call from the project manager, to make sure I have his number if a problem arises. Followed by 3 guys who installed 4 windows in 40 minutes, trimmed out the casings for exterior, caulked everything that didn't move, picked up every scrap of debris, vacuumed my house wherever a footstep may have fallen. They were polite, professional, ad careful my pets didn't escape (kitten with wings). Followed by quality control manager who does final inspection of the job, sits down and does an exit interview to rate their performance and files your warranties for you (did I mention even the screen is warrantied and the warranties pass on to the new owner should you sell your house). SO, it's 23 below in Chicago, and right now the interior of the window I purchased is warm, not ice cold. There are no drafts. And did I mention they provided financing at a rate below market rate at any major credit card (I did find out it was part of a promotion, so that may not be available. $4000 in windows, $67 a month. This whole sales process is pretty commonplace in business environments for 5 and 6-$figure investors but most residential homeowner don't receive it. It's a little time consuming but again, I refer you to the 3 guys taking 3 days to install my patio door incorrectly.

At 7:00 when we told the salesman we are out of time he left without quoting us because he thought we didn't give him enough time to go over everything and he thought a number wouldn't help us. Im pretty sure it was because he had an extremely high quote. He spent a lot of time making small talk and telling us what a great company they were. Well of course he thinks they are, but I could do my own research. He was professional and nice, but seriously we just wasted an entire evening. The sales tactics of this company are a huge turn off. There are many other companies on here that give great service and don't need all this time from you.
Description of Work: We were looking to get quotes for new windows and met with a salesman for over an hour. We were looking for a starting point and were very surprised after an hour and half the salesman needed more time to go over everything with us. OMG who has this kind of time.

Sales - High pressure sales - Sales rep was nice and professional Scheduling - Very prompt, professional, flexible Pre-install - Project manager was friendly, professional, very respectful of our home, worked with us to find a time that worked to do the walk through Install - Crew showed up on time, had to work in extremely cold weather (single digits), didn't rush their work, were very diligent to ensure their work was of high quality, high quality prep of the work areas / traffic areas, installations went extremely well and they took care to ensure everything was cleaned up to the point where it looked like no one was there working. The work they did and effort they put in was tremendous. Project manager stopped by to check on the crew and make sure everything was going well and we were happy with the progress. Couldn't be happier with the work they did and the quality of their windows.

I was cleaning out a portion of my garage with my sister when someone came by to inquire about there services as they were working in the area, they had someone go around and put info in people's mailbox, etc. Since we were busy, I just said sure and a date was set for someone to come out and give me a quote. The first person who showed up was on a day it rained. I used an umbrella to show him the hole in the detached garage. He started to give me the company information, which I didn't want to hear as I was working from home that day and wanted to get back to work. I was trying to hurry him up. Eventually, he went to his car for something and was on the phone for over 20 minutes. I was put out as I was now going to have to work later to make up time that I spent waiting for him to get back. Eventually he came back in and it was decided this was not a good day for an inspection. Another appointment was made. Two different people came out the next time--after working hours. They inspected the garage and found I had some rotted wood (which I knew about), and then asked to see the house roof. I had some small work done on the roof about 6 and 10 years ago (I had a leak which my friends husband put tar on to fix), so I said sure. He went up the attic and took a couple of pictures on his cell phone, apparently I had some mold. Water was coming in but going down and out via the soffit so I wasn't seeing it on my ceiling. He then went outside and up on the roof, where he then found a wasp nest between the roof and the gutters. He was kind enough to pull up the shingles at the edge and use my wasp spray on the nest. After that, he took about an another chunk of time to explain how they put in a roof vent, and other aspects of their roof and company work, the shingles (GAF), the guarantee (50 years that is backed by them, then GAF and finally Better Homes and Gardens), the pricing from roofing on this type of house, and the company itself, etc. I had to sit for a video they had on their laptop. Since it was August and I wanted the roof done for the winter, I liked what I heard and decided to go with them instead of getting other quotes. (I know not smart but they do use the we'll take so much off if you agree now--an obvious ploy but it works for a reason.) and since I didn't have the time to get more quotes and listen to more rhetic from other companies, I just went with them. He got me a VISA home projects card, scanning in my paychecks right there. (Note, they say unsecured credit line, and don't ask me why, I thought of it as something else--like a home equity credit line, why they just didn't say we're getting you a credit card is beyond me as normal people do not use that terminology about a credit card on a daily basis. He did make reference to a card, but I was tired as this was the end of the day and my mind was thinking in a different direction as I was wondering if I can afford it. So I'll take the rap for this one as a misunderstanding on my part since that is what a credit card is.) The whole process from the time the men came until they left, took about 3 hours. The guy was good and put me at ease, etc, good salesman getting a good rapport with the customer. I was told from the salesman that they would put tarp around the house to catch any nails, debris that would occur during the work (which they didn't do--but I only found a couple of nails in the driveway and a few plastic wraps after they left). I was told they would take pictures during the work and show me what was being done. The workers didn't. (I don't blame them, as I would not want to stop every so often.) I was told that another estimator would come to doublecheck the initial estimate, which did happen so they would get the right amount of material. (The gentlemen only took about 10 or 15 minutes.) The project manager called with a date. The workers came on time and started work immediately, taking off the roof from the garage first and then the house. One set of workers then worked on the garage and another on the house. About half way through another man from the company came to see how the work was going and tried to sell me new gutters. This time I stayed firm on no. I will wait until I have the money, not put it on the credit card. The workers completed the house by the end of the day. We had to call the company as I did want to pay a bit of it by cash to keep the credit card lower, I told the salesman this when I signed up, but it was not told to the workers. It was a simple call to fix. The lead/head worker was very nice and helpful, although at that time I really didn't have many questions. My brother-in-law came over when they were about 3/4 of the way done and went up on the house roof to take a look at the work, he was satisfied. BTW, this company did say they do not work with insurance companies (which you may want to doublecheck with them first), as I asked if the home roof damage was due to weather so that I could use my homeowner's insurance. That's when they said they couldn't make that determination and didn't really work with insurance companies, but again, I would ask them. Since I was not on Angie's list when this work was done and I wanted to wait until after that winter to see if anything bad occurred, is the reason that this review is late in posting. They also had a company call to do a survey of my experience with the company over the phone, which again, I wanted to wait until after some time to see if there were any issues. So they also gave me a website to go to to put in comments. However, since I decided to use Angie's List after this, I'm putting it here. I only had one issue after the roof was done: My roof is a bit weird, on one side, the roof almost reaches the ground. After the roof was done, the water was not going to the small gutter at the end, but creating a big puddle/divot near the front side of the house. I was too busy to find and call the company about it as I wasn't sure it was something that could easily be fixed and was not anything dire. However, the company did call a year after they did my roof to make sure that everything was still okay. When I mentioned the small issue, the man on the phone gave me the help line number. I called and they had someone come out that day to look at the issue (since they were in the area). It would be fixed but not be "pretty". One of the workers came back that same day and fixed it. (It was the lead/head worker from when the roof was done the year before, he was very nice.) Again, it's not pretty but doable and for the most part works. Good service. Would I use them again, yes, but I will get at least 2 other estimates.

the crew arrived on time and got right to work. all workers and employees with his company have been extremely courteous and friendly all the way from the first contact at the door asking to give us a free estimate on their product to final installation of the windows and doors. I couldn't be more pleased with this experience if I tried. very knowledgeable and honest, would recommend them to anyone anytime. a couple of issues still remain that need to be taken care of but they are coming back out in January to fix them. this company actually do what they promise to do. there are good contractors out there and this is one of them. if you need new windows and doors give them a call. you may pay a little more but its so worth it.
