It all started great with a good estimate-- however over the course of the project we experience massive delays, which we were comfortable with given the supply chain issues with the pandemic but hit a boiling point where the would disappear for weeks on end with no update when they were coming back. The delays in the project took over six months to complete half of the project-- which is when we ended up canceling the remainder of the contract to get a backfill contractor. Additionally, his team blew two different fuses in the house-- with one burnt so bad the electrician we hired to fix it told us it could have burnt down the house. Because of the delays, the hot tub we had to move ended up freezing and a pipe burst. And on top of all of that, pieces of the deck started breaking within six months of the deck being finished. Additionally it should be known that Chris and team will not sand or finish the decks they build requiring an additional contractor.

Our patio deck project built by Chris Gacek turned out wonderful. This was not a simple project, and Chris had the knowledge and expertise to complete it with quality and accuracy. My husband is an architect, and Chris had the level of professionalism, cooperation and expertise to follow my husband's CAD drawings and work well with us. Chris is the guy you want to hire!

Chris did a beautiful job on our Azek deck and steps! His craftsmanship is excellent and we couldn't be happier with his work! Chris kept his word in terms of the timing of our project, coordinating with the Village as well as with our patio contractor. He was great to work with from start to finish, very personable as well as very detailed and a perfectionist. My husband and I would highly recommend Chris and his team for your deck projects. We started our project at a time when lumber, both natural wood and engineered were scarce and we had been told we wouldn't be able to get the Azek product for months by other contractors. Chris was resourceful and able to find the exact product we wanted in a timely manner. Again, we highly recommend Polmaster with no reservations.

The job was over the top wonderful from start to finish. Chris arrived on time for each appointment beginning with a Saturday visit to assess the job. He responds same day to calls and emails! He is a quiet, careful, expert who is very personable. He easily answered questions, understood requests, explained procedures including a demonstration if needed to clarify. Ie SHOWING how the pieces fit together/just telling because he saw that's the way I can get it. He and his crew of 2 are pleasant to have around. They worked together quickly, precisely, and skillfully finishing sooner than estimated, cleaning up each day thoroughly. The job looks and feels beautiful, and they are very fairly priced. I would love to have more work for them, and have already happily recommended them.

The deck is great. Once the plans and permits were all settled, the work was scheduled and construction was very fast. The quote given included all the costs for plans and permits, with the exception of a survey we needed to provide. When the building inspector came at the end of the project, I even overheard him telling the builder he always does a good job and complimenting him on the lumber he'd managed to get. We're very happy with our new deck.

I was impressed with Chris from day 1. He pointed out some things that I didn't notice when he came out to give me an estimate. His prices were fair, he communicated with me well when they were and weren't coming due to rain. Very Professional and I can tell he has pride in his work!

Chris and his crew built a new front porch for me and did a great job. The communication on the quote and schedule for the work was good, they showed up when they said they would, the worksite was kept clean and safe and the porch looks wonderful!

Chris worked on building our new front porch project directly and was the most reasonable price of the multiple quotes I received. Didn't have a lot of reviews but I took a chance in spite of that after meeting multiple builders. He was responsive throughout, and quality of the work is great. I'd recommend contacting him for any porch or deck build.
