Description of Work: Deck repair

Description of Work: I contacted PMG Carpentry to obtain a bid for replacement of ~110 feet of wooden fence and 13 feet of wrought iron for a small condo association.

Description of Work: removed old deck and front steps. replaced with landing/steps in back and new steps in front. also installed two prehung doors.

Description of Work: I wanted to renovate an area on the side of my house that was never utilized to it's full potential, with over grown weeds, and becoming an eyesore to myself and the neighbors. I searched Angie's List for Deck and Fence Contractors and found PMG Carpentry. I was very impressed with his website and e-mailed for an estimate. I was called back immediately and explained that I wanted a deck and vinyl privacy fence installed. Lukas was out that week to give me an estimate that was fair and more extensive than any of the other estimates I received. He started immediately with the deck as the vinyl fence would take two weeks to be delivered. Lukas and his men installed the cedar deck within two days and it looked better than I imagined it would. When the fence panels arrived, he was there to inspect them and made sure every part was there, within the next two days the old chain link fence was removed and the new fence was installed. He even leveled the ground with the remaining dirt and replaced the stone slabs in other areas. PMG Carpentry is a top-notch company, honest, punctual, and really does what they say they will do. I'm glad I found PMG and hope to use them again for other home remodeling needs in the future.

Description of Work: Built a pergola 13ft X14ft pergola out of western red cedar over our brick paved patio.

Description of Work: I contacted PMG Carpentry because I had a friend who had used them in the past. She had told me what an amazing job they did and what a great deal she got on her deck. I needed both a deck and my fence to be done. We have a typical house located outside of Chicago that has a medium yard with our neighbors who can see everything that goes on in our yard . I wanted more privacy so I wanted a nice fence that gave us privacy and looked beautiful. With the fence I also needed a deck so I can enjoy the privacy that I would gain from adding the fence. Lucas from PMG came by right away and gave us an estimate within a couple of days. I have worked with many contractors in the past and I have not had any luck...they usually take forever to come up with the contract...and I always hated the price they gave me. But with PMG they were so fast, and honest. They tell you exactly what you need and why you need it. The pricing was a lot lower than I thought it would be considering the material he used which was cedar wood. I had other contractors come and quote me and they were much higher compared to PMG...by 10% to 15%. (and those were the people that took forever to get back to me and never showed up when they said they would). That is why I choose to use PMG. They respect your time, and your thoughts. I was surprised at how fast they took to finish our deck. I have had contractors in the past not show up for weeks and then finally come back. PMG came and finished their work right away, and always showing up. I WAS SUPER IMPRESSED and SOOOO HAPPY! My fence and deck was finished in 10 days which is a record for any contractor that has worked at my house. What we had installed was a 14 ft by 16 ft cedar wood deck with a great railing and nice privacy walls. He also built me beautiful planter boxes to have on my deck to showcase my flowers since I love to garden. The stairs he built were amazing as they lead me into my wild flower garden . The fence wraps around our back yard and is about 8ft high and keeps the neighbors from peaking into our yard. They are a great team over there at PMG. I would hire them back for any other work I will have done in the future.

BREATHTAKING PERGOLA ON ONE END OF IT (THERE WAS NOT EVEN ONE GUEST WHO WOULDN'T COMMENT ON IT OF HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS WHILE VISITING OUR HOME) THEY DESIGNED AND BUILT GORGEOUS PLANTER BOXES ON OUR DECK (VERY ORIGINAL DESIGN BY MR. LUCAS) FOR THE LOVELY FLOWERS I WILL PLANT IN THE SPRING... ALSO THEY BUILT WOOD SEATS ALONG THE SIDES OF THE DECK AND CORNER BENCHES TO ACCOMMODATE OUR GUESTS IN THE SUMMER WHO, LIKE TO HAVE A SEAT AND RELAX WHILE ENJOYING A COCKTAIL AT OUR PARTIES:) THE SERVICE THAT THE PMG COMPANY PROVIDED WAS OUTSTANDING!!! THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED ON TIME AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DURING AND AFTER THE JOB WAS DONE, WAS AMAZING!!! VERY CLEAN AND RESPECTFUL CREW!!! THEIR PRICE FOR THE WHOLE PROJECT WAS EXCELLENT AND LOW COMPARE TO THE OTHER OUTRAGEOUSLY HIGH ESTIMATES I WAS GIVEN BY FEW OTHER COMPANIES DURING THE SAME TIME... I STRONGLY AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND PMG CARPENTRY FOR ALL THE CLIENTS WHO, LIKE MYSELF LOVE EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, JOB DONE ON TIME, AND QUALITY OVER QUANTITY FOR AN AFFORDABLE, LOW PRICE!!!

Description of Work: Estimate was presented next day after scheduled appointment.. They have removed our old deck. Prepared foundation for posts. And built a very nice deck, like we have imagined it would look like. Place was cleaned nicely from all debris of the work done.
