The Chicago weather impacted the scheduling but everything went very well. Excellent work by the entire crew. The entire job took 3 to 4 days as Jose said. He was easy to reach and was working with his guys when he was on sight. The weather had me stressed but not the work/workers. It was money well spent and the price was fair. I will definitely use again when I do front sidewalk. Neighbors on both sides of me requested contact info. I would recommend to all my family/friends.

Jose came out despite a cold and gave me a cost estimate on the spot for the work we asked him to do. He was in the middle of our three estimates, the most prompt to reply to emails, and the one who seemed most interested in working with us at the end of the season when the days were starting to get colder and there were fewer days available for this type of work. The estimate seemed fair, the work he suggested matched our suggestions. He told me it would be a 2-3 day project depending on weather. We booked a date when I accepted his estimate and sent him a small fee for holding the date. Due to weather the date changed by one day, which was more than understandable. When he arrived, I gave him a check for half of the balance due, and his team began working right away. They were all courteous, they answered a few questions I had, and it took most of the first day for them to tear up and remove the concrete. The second day they came and completed the framing, graded and poured gravel, then poured concrete and fixed my back yard concrete that had been done by another worker. They were done before 1pm but they took their time packing up their truck and cleaning all their tools, cleaning up any mess they left, and putting things away. This gave the concrete time to mostly set while there were several men present to keep any passers-by from marking the concrete while it was wet. They came and asked me to look at what they had done around 5pm and suggested I sit and watch it dry for a few more hours since it was still soft enough for someone to damage easily. On the third day, they arrived fairly early to remove all of their wooden retaining boards and temporary fencing and left before I could get to the front to thank them. On the second day, they also pointed out how a few bricks in the small retaining wall near my front door had come loose while they were removing concrete the previous day. The worker apologized and said to ask Jose to schedule someone to come out later with the correct items to fix the tuckpointing. Since there were no damaged bricks, just loose mortar, I was fine with this solution. And Jose sent someone to fix the mortar while I was at work and I didn't have to be present to approve the work, which I was grateful for. He also gave us tips on how clean the concrete after it dried, what type of salt to use over the winter, and more. The team matched the previous concrete work, replaced my gate, restrained bushes where possible to prevent damaging them very much, cleaned up after themselves spotlessly, and thanked me for hiring them to do the job. It was delightful to have a team of people who seemed to truly enjoy their jobs and each other and their boss do work for me. I would use them again without feeling the need to get a second estimate, just because the quality of the work was so high and the quality of the service was so great. I can't recommend his team and their work more highly.

Our lot is too short to legally put up a garage. It was always possible to find street parking but it has become more and more difficult to find a spot on the street. We decided to have the back yard cemented in so we could park behind the house. We got 4 estimates. Jose's was not the cheapest nor the most expensive but he seemed to understand exactly what I wanted and could give me a probable start date. I live on a hill and was confident that Jose would deal with that so I signed the contract. October 01, the men were there to remove the sidewalk that ran from the house to the alley and a stone block patio. Jose introduced the team to me. "Hello" was the first and last thing I said to them. I am handicapped so I had to go back into the house. They worked on their own with no interruptions from me. A Bobcat removed the grass and dirt. I was not able to watch them but they did an excellent job of leveling the 25' by 24' yard. They also dug out a 12' by 3' space for my garden. The next day they put down the gravel and compacted it On October 07, the team put down the wire mesh and soon after the cement truck arrived. I had to leave so I did not get to watch them work their magic. Two days later Jose came and removed the wood forms. For an additional charge he said he could get dirt for the garden. I agreed and he brought the dirt the next week. We are very pleased with the way everything turned out. The driveway is beautiful!! The boys did an excellent job with no supervision from me at all. I must start off with saying that the work Jose did was replacing a bad concrete job done by another contractor last November. Within a month, that concrete was cracking, peeling and chipping in numerous spots. By spring, I stopped counting the cracks and my husband & I decided to have the work redone. On his first visit for an estimate, Jose was able to point out various things that were wrong with the quality of the cement and the look of it. As we suspected, the previous contractor cheaped out on the quality of the cement and in some spots the thickness was only 3" instead of 4". He went into detail on where the joints of the cement should be put, which concrete companies he uses and how concrete is mixed at the factory. He described in detail what the work would look like when finished. We read all the reviews on Perez Concrete Service and also checked Chicago BBB. Jose's job went very well. He and his workers arrived on time. After Jose instructed his workers he went on to another job. Mario was the supervisor in charge of our work but Jose was available for any questions or concerns. All of the workers were very professional, polite and knew their jobs. Any questions or concerns were addressed immediately. The job took about 4 days including drying time. Clean-up was good too. Patricia from Jose's office is also in touch with you frequently throughout the process. Jose requested $200 initial payment to hold a date on his calendar once you decide to go with him (so you're in the line of jobs to be done). On the 1st day of work, we gave him a check for half the cost of the contracted work (used to purchase the concrete) and the remainder was collected on the final day of work. I'm including this just so you know the entire process. In addition, we had Jose seal our concrete about a week later for an additional $350. So the breakdown of the $3230 was $2880 for cement work and $350 for sealing. I consider the total price to be very reasonable for the amount of work done. We did have two other contractors out from Angie's List but went with Jose because of his knowledge and attention to detail. Patio and sidewalk look great and the sealer seems to be doing it's job. We can really see a big difference between last year's work and the work Jose did. Now I don't mind going out in the backyard and looking down at the concrete patios. The jury is still out on how it will hold out during the upcoming winter but Jose said it should be fine. We would definitely use Perez Concrete Service again.

The crew was able to start a day earlier than promised, which was good. The existing driveway and garage floor were removed and the space prepared and leveled in 2 days. The new garage floor was poured and leveled one day and the driveway on another day. The concrete was all 5 in deep and the work was done to perfection. After the concrete cured properly, everything was cleaned up and new top soil filled around the driveway. The workers were professional, polite, used the right equipment, and worked efficiently while they were on-site. I am totally satisfied with the completed work and highly recommend Perez Concrete for any similar work.

Excellent work all around starting with the removal of the old concrete, new pour, finishing, and ultimately clean-up. Had some challenges related to the township and timely inspections but Jose was able to work around those and get the cement truck on the day promised anyway. That was a big deal as future weather outlook was not good and he got it done! Jose and his team did a great job, we are very happy and I'd recommend any time!

Overall the service went very well. They showed up on time and performed the services promised. Scheduling and communication left a little to be desired, but once booked; everything went well. Both jobs were completed in two days, with a day delay due to weather. Their (the workers) presence at the site was spotty during the 2 days, but the job was completed in the time-frame they gave me. There is also a bit of a language barrier, which proved tricky, at times, over the phone and on site. I'm happy with the quality of work and would recommend.

Great work, done in 3 days. Looks and functions amazingly well. Can fit 3 sedans now. Some confusion with the initial measurement, so an additional $500 added to cost. Not the end of the world, but had to scramble because that wasn't budgeted for--

They began work on schedule and finished on schedule. They left the area clean and neat. The concrete work was very precise and professional. I would definitely hire Jose and his crew again.

Jose was very professional. After receiving our quote ( which we thought was a very fair price), he told us he'd call to schedule the job within a few weeks. We were pleasantly surprised when he called back a few days later and said his crew could start right away. Jose and his crew arrived when they said they would, worked hard, and left our yard neat and clean. We are very happy with the sidewalk and our neighbors have commented on what a good job Jose did. Finding a good contractor like Jose is what makes subscribing to Angie's list worth it.

Provider called 30 minutes before appointment to reschedule. This is very unprofessional as my wife and I had to move around our schedules to accommodate this appointment and will now have to do so again with another service provider. I understand things come up, but we waited over a week for this appointment and to have it rescheduled at the last minute is very frustrating. They seem like nice people, but our condo association will not use their service in the future.

We had Perez Concrete Service replace our old, crumbling, sinking concrete front steps. Jose had a very competitive price and gave us a good idea about what he intended to do. Aside from an unavoidable delay due to weather, the work was performed on time. The new steps look great and hopefully will for years to come. Jose was also able to refer us to an associate who painted and re-installed the wrought-iron railing. We recommend Perez Concrete Service if you have similar work.

Overall, I give Perez Concrete Service high marks for a job well done. Although, Perez Concrete Service was not the lowest cost proposal I received, I selected this company because I had the highest confidence in them that the job would be successfully completed to my specifications. Working with Jose Perez, the owner was a good experience from the start of the proposal process to the end of the final clean up. He was prompt, professional and took the time to fully understand the scope of the job and review the particulars with me. I especially liked the numerous suggestions that he offered for how he would resolve any issues that I brought up. In this regard, he was definitely ahead of the other companies that made proposals for the job. The crew that performed the work were courteous and respectful of my property. They completed the work in a timely manner, allowing for weather conditions and normal project scheduling. However, the proof of the pudding is the final output. I am very pleased with the overall appearance of the concrete job. The front stairs are perfect; the color is a good match to an existing concrete walkway and there are no flaws in the work. And, I already have received compliments on the new stairs from neighbors. As a plus Jose recommended a Fence Contractor that I used to re-manufacture my front railing and install it after the concrete had dried. This portion of the job turned out great also. Bottom line is that Perez did an excellent job on my project and I would recommend them to other Angie's List Members.

Jose Perez and his office assistant Patricia were extremely responsive. Clearly he works long hours, so the visit to do the estimate was rescheduled once and pushed back an hour, but when he arrived he was thorough and provided an oral estimate on the spot, followed by a written estimate with his insurance documentation and references by email. He included re-doing the sidewalk between the steps and the main city sidewalk, which was not included in any of the other estimates. The result is a unified look. He and Patricia work efficiently by texting. He was originally scheduled for Monday but he asked if he could start the preceding Saturday, which was to my advantage even though it's a noisy, dusty process. He arrived at 8:30 am on Saturday with several trucks and a generator and worked all day. Some demolition continued on Monday but the job was finished on Tuesday. Each day the crew worked till 5:30 or 6:00 and on a day in which they did "quiet" work, they arrived before 7 am. His crew was meticulous about surrounding the area with orange plastic fencing, and at the end of each workday, they piled the boards neatly. For a construction job, it had good curb appeal! Honestly, I was a tad skeptical because his price was 30% less than another bidder (who was my emotional 1st choice) and 19% less than another, both professional, clearly well-educated, and thorough in their explanations of the job to be done and in their written estimates. I took a gamble on Perez Concrete because of price and Jose Perez's credible manner. They did an excellent job. I am completely satisfied, and it even looks better than I expected because it has a border around the edge of the concrete. He also referred me to an ironworker who came for the wrought iron railings on Thursday for a Tuesday reinstall of refinished, reprimed, and repainted railings at a highly favorable price. I strongly recommend this vendor. Be prepared for a less sophisticated presentation and estimate process than you may get from some other companies, but the quality and price are both excellent.

I needed this work done quickly. Jose met me for our appointment on time and gave me a quote on the spot (written quote followed that day). He was also able to give me a start date for the very next week. He started work on the day that we agreed upon and was able to get the work done in two days. All work was done as outlined in our conversation and the written quote. He did an excellent job with the finishing details of the concrete and I am very satisfied with the work he and his crew did. Would definitely use him again.

Jose was very professional and showed up when he said he would. He took about 5 minutes to inspect the area and get measurements then gave me a quote right there on the spot. The price was (in my opinion) very good, unfortunately we ended up deciding that we did not want to proceed, but had we decided to go for it, we would have hired Perez to take care of the job.

He never showed up to give me a price. This was after i stayed home for two appointments where made....

We interviewed four contractors. Jose arrived on time for our meeting and was the only contractor who followed up with a written estimate and proof of insurance (which we didn't even ask for). He did not try to "up sell" us in to doing any other additional work as some of the other contractors did. His crew started the work earlier than what was relayed to us which we appreciated. Jose was on site every day monitoring his crew and the work being done. His crew were polite, and cleaned up after themselves, leaving the property as they had found it. We were so pleased with the final product which looked even better than we ever expected. Loved the boarder they put around each section of the sidewalk. We would hire Perez Concrete again and have already referred him to some of our neighbors.

My garage sat lower than the alley due to it's age resulting in the run-off water flooding it. This past winter not only caused flooding but multiple cracks and loose cement. I decided it was time to replace the 80 year old brick 2 1/2 car garage floor and contacted Jose Perez Concrete for an estimate. He was professional, knowledgeable, reliable and ALWAYS accessible! After agreeing on the job to be done, he and his crew seamlessly removed the floor day 1, then put 4 inches of a crushed rock base with a wire mesh, keeping the existing drain and 5 inches of a new cement higher and at an angle to prevent future flooding on day 2. On the 3rd day Jose arrived to make sure I was pleased with the whole project. It turned out BEAUTIFUL!!! This is a quality job and the crew made it my easiest project yet! Any future cement work I need done, I will be using them again.

Jose and his crew did a great job of adding a concrete patio in my back yard and adding new concrete in the front of my building. They had to remove a small part of my fence, which was in really bad condition, and even replaced it with a new one for me.

Mr. Perez was 15 minutes late for the appointment to give me an estimate on fixing our front steps. Upon arrival and inspection he recommended replacement because of the severe damage on the side. I believe this was the right thing to do too. I believe the price was right. The work was done within the time estimated. The sidewalk and steps look great. He also gave recommendations on people who could do the iron work to replace our rusted railing. That also yielded a good result. I did not give straight A's though because after the concrete was poured, I was told the wood forms used in pouring would be removed on a Wednesday. No one arrived. Not until I called a day or two later did I receive an explanation on why the work wasn't done. The explanation was satisfactory, but I wish the company had contacted me immediately.

The job went well, Mr Perez had a worker with him and they did a wonderful job.

I called for an estimate, Mr Perez showed up promptly within 2 days. Started work the next day. Finished two days later because of rain. All work was done professionally. Mr Perez asked me how I wanted the side walk finished and demonstrated several styles. I chose the "california finish" and it looks wonderful. Several neighbors have already stopped by and inquired about my brand new beautiful side walk. Kudos and accolades to Mr Perez and associates!!
