I am very satisfied with this company. They accommodated my schedule and came out on the day requested promptly at 830 am as promised. They were fully equipped with the necessary tools to perform the task. They obtained the additional supplies needed to complete the project. Their work was well done. They worked well with my elderly mother who is very exacting about how she wanted the job performed. There were no complaints from my mother. I have not seen the work personally but I am happy if my mother is pleased. I have asked them to perform addition projects at another house. I hope they will continue to work with me on the upkeep of my older homes.

Contacted for an interior painting quote, gave my information, and was told that he would call me on the day of to give me a specific time he'd be by. I had a bad feeling, because when I called it sounded like he was frantically writing down my information and I could barely hear him. And...no call, no show. (Response to the provider: Any claim that you did call me is completely false and makes no sense, since I was waiting for it for two days, and know how to operate my phone and voicemail.)

They were very professional, even though they weren't able to do the work, they told us why. They were getting ready to do a lot of exterior painting for one of their repeat customers. They still keep in touch, and we get their newsletter, so we would probably give them another opportunity. They were timely and they were reasonable. The timing isn't always going to work out, and they were honest about it. They give out a lot of quotes, and then they end up over quoting, and when people call them to do the work, they are busy. The price was reasonable for 1000sq foot apartment ceiling and walls. They also do sidings and other things, so we are looking to getting another quote from them.

Thank you for your review, I would like to clarify that we don't ''over quote''. After providing the estimate we did not hear back from the member until weeks later, he called asking if we could finish the project by a certain date, but I told them that we weren't able to meet their schedule, and I even mentioned that I wish the member would of called a few weeks before so we could meet their deadline. Thank you and I also hope to be able to work with you in the future. Respectfully, Gil Peralta Peralta Painting & Remodeling.

Description of Work: I've used Peralta three different times over the last several years. The first was some cosmetic work when I first moved into my condo, the second was to paint two bathrooms (including painting stripes, which turned out great), and the third to patch up some damage after our winter storms. They have always done excellent work and been very professional.

pI bought the coupon for 2 painters for 500 for 8 hours. It was easy to schedule with them. We picked out the paint colors and they picked up all the supplies and paint and they saved the receipts so we just paid them for the supplies - so it was nice we didn't have to get all that themselves. They worked pretty clean, and did a nice job taping/prepping. I think it took 4 days to finish the job - but don't quote me, it was a year ago. They painted all the places the correct color and showed up every day. I recommended them to some friends who also used them to paint their place and they were happy with them as well.

The member bought a coupon, 2 painters for 8 hours. I called and met with the owner immediately, I explained that the work would take more than 8 hours, the project was 2 large rooms, with cracks, new drywall, new doors and woodwork to be primed, prepped and painted. they agreed and I said that I would email an estimate the next day, I got an email the next morning asking not to send an estimate and just to complete the 8 hours ASAP, and they were going to decide what to do after the 8 hours. I mentioned that the following week was very busy but I was going to work on making an opening for their project. I emailed the next day (Friday) confirming to do the work the following Tuesday, they agreed and thanked me for making an opening in such short notice. I received an email the night before the work was scheduled asking to cancel the work, "we want to cancel your services, we found someone else". I was just confused and wished them good luck. I was completely satisfied with Peralta Painting and Remodeling and would highly recommend them. Gil Peralto was very professional, helpful and available. These are qualities that are not always easy to find in companies. Before the work was done, Gil could always be reached by phone and was very attentive to my inquiries and making sure the work was done in a timely manner. Gil's crew always arrived when they were scheduled to come and worked diligently. The men were responsible, very skilled, and incredibly neat. After each day of work, there was absolutely no sign that they had been power washing, sanding, or painting all day. I really appreciated their care and consideration. The work itself is beautiful. They were able to intricately paint railings and spindles two different colors in the front porch. The back porch and stairs were neglected for years and in dire need of power washing and sealing. They did such a wonderful job cleaning, hand sanding, and applying a high quality protective coating. I am very pleased with Peralta Paints and will surely seek them out again.

Gil was very professional gave him the job of deck restoration after seeing the quality of work his workers performed I gave him the front porch, garage and painting in the house. Tony the carpenter did a great job restoring the wood on the deck. He was very professional and had a great attitude and it showed. Sergio was my go to guy in the house he possessed a lot of skills and Daniel his assistant was good.

Another great project by Peralta! This a company you want on speed-dial -- no job too big or too small. Each treated with the same level of professionalism, skill, and can-do attitude. Gil is so personable and honest and likable and his team has a wide range of carpentry and painting skills. The rare contracting company that is both delightful to have in your home and highly skilled. We will be using Peralta again and again.
Description of Work: We have happily used Peralta Painting/Remodeling in the past and called owner Gil with a very quick turnaround project for our lower level-- to remove carpeting and all tacks, to paint/seal the underlying wood floor, and to do touch-up painting. Gil was his typical affable, highly professional, self and arranged to have two of his guys there the very next day. The last project involved more heavy carpentry and we were thoroughly impressed with Peralta's problem-solving, high standards, and attention to detail. His guys, including Tony, are wonderful to deal with and treat your home as you would. TOTAL pros.

Peralta painting was great. Gil came to do an estimate and assessment a couple weeks ago. They would have started sooner, but lost a lot of time to the weather. They started on Monday morning, and lost the afternoon to rain. A job that was originally quoted at 2 days took 3, and he did not charge me more. All the labor, supplies, paint, and cleanup were included. 2 men came to do the work and the steps look fantastic. I am so happy with the work that I will definitely call on them again for my painting needs.

Gil Peralta was very responsive from the time I left a message asking for a quote until the very end. My calls and emails were always returned within 24 hours. When he did not show up at the scheduled time for the initial quote, I called him and he apologized saying he had calendared it for the following day. He was at my doorstep within 20 minutes. I was surprised at the estimate(a little high) but opted to hire him in part because of the good reviews on Angie's List. I am glad I did!! Gil was very conscientious with the job. Due to the rain he could not start on the agreed date and he contacted me every evening to give me an update on his expected start date. His crew performed the job in a very clean and professional manner. They worked from 8 until after 5 pm(I would run errands in the neighborhood and would pass by the house during the day and always saw the crew working). If they had any questions or concerns the crew chief would knock on my door to advise me, I appreciated that. I was impressed by all of the prep work that went into the job(sanding/scraping/priming). At the last minute my custom mailbox and address plaque was delivered and I asked Gil if his crew could install them for me. They gladly did so without any additional cost. There was a miscommunication between Gil and his crew chief about the painting of the front steps. When I pointed the mistake out to the crew chief, he repainted the areas and all was rectified before they left for the day. I am glad I opted to hire this company over a cheaper competitor, they do quality work and very conscientious in the way do they perform their job. I have already asked him for quotes on other jobs around the house. Again, he is not inexpensive but worth it!!!

I contacted Gil mid May for a paint job (between 2-3k), and we set up a date for an on-site estimate. He said he will double check in his schedule. After reassuring he will call back the same day (later he changed his statement to one week), I received no call back. Than I called after 3 days again, left a message, no call back. Than I called 2 days later no call back. After x tries on the same day I finally got him on the line. He still didn`t know if he can take the job but reassured me he somehow could. I was confused by him, felt uncomfortable and unsure working with him in the future, which I told him. Looking back at this experience, I should have known this is not the right contractor for us. I should have checked the F ratings, among which some experienced very similar to what I did experience. I decided not to go for this contractor because: 1. he failed to return calls over a period of 10 days 2. he was not clear on his plans 3. he was not following through with his promises He was the only painting contractor we ever contacted and that was good because we ended up not doing the job because of a mold issue. We ended up replacing the windows instead of painting them. Our AC is now more efficient than ever before, THX to SCIENTIFIC WINDOW SERVICES.

We are sorry about the misunderstanding, we did not perform any work for the member, The member called last week to set an appointment on Saturday June 7th, I said yes June 7th will work, but I will call you on Monday (june 2nd) to confirm a time for Saturday morning, the member called last night (Friday May 30th) to ask about the time, I reminded her that we had a agreed on an appointment for Saturday morning (June 7th) and I was going to call her to confirm by the following Monday (June 2nd), she then yelled: "I'm not interested on doing business with you, forget it" and hung up the phone, by the way, we don't have any previous messages as she mentions, we always return calls right away. We are sorry it didn't work with us, but I think part of this is because the member mentioned that she was calling a lot of different companies to get multiple bids, and probably got the information mixed up. First the good. They came promptly and gave a bid. they performed and completed the work on time. They made an effort to address my concerns. Now, my concerns. They gave a bid for $1950 to scrape, do 1 coat of primer, and 1 coat of paint, plus cost of primer and paint. I had already scraped 50% of the house, but needed the work done in short order and knew I could not finish on time. When Gil gave me the bid, I thought it was high and mentioned that he had a deal on Angie's List for $500/day for 2 painters. he told me that the work would be 3 1/2 to 4 days. So, the price then seemed reasonable. Gil promised (on a Wednesday) that they would get the work done in a week's time, and that his guys could work on Saturday and Sunday if needed. I also asked that he ensure they do a very good clean-up job with no paint chips. The guys worked a 1/2 day on Friday and a full day on Sunday. On Sunday Gil informed me that they had started painting (house was all scraped and primed) and painted a large part of the house a wrong color. I was not living at the house at the time and went up to inspect. I found a large amount of paint chips on the ground, that they had not primed some parts of the house, and that they had not scraped part of the house before priming and painting. I raised all my concerns with Gil and after arguing with me about some it, he agreed to address my concerns. I had my wife meet him at the house the next morning, Monday, to ensure he understood everything. After looking at the property, Gil agreed that they had not scraped part of the house properly, they had missed priming some parts, and that they had done a bad job on the paint chips. I went up on Monday and found they had completed all the work by the end of the day and had cleaned up the paint chips. I thanked Gil for finishing the work but still expressed to Gil that I was concerned they had missed some priming that I could not see (there were some high points of the paint job by the roof). I also stated that I was disappointed I had to bring up all these issues with him. Gil sent me an invoice for the full amount of the bid $1950 and for materials of 2 cans of primer and 3 cans of paint. I told Gil that I was disappointed in the work, and noted that he finished in 2 and 1/2 days and not 3 and 1/2 to 4 days, including lost time painting the house the wrong color (that he then repainted). I asked that he knock 15% off the cost, or about $300. Gil refused and stated the hours were right (that they had worked 64 total man hours in that time, even after subtracting for the time lost painting the house the wrong color). I also questioned how he used so much more paint than primer. Gil stated that the materials were accurate, but later acknowledged that he bought the third can of paint in error, so he would have me pay for that at 1/2 off. After discussing the issues with him another time, he would not budge, despite my dissatisfaction. So, rather than deal with it any more I paid him the money. I would not recommend him or use him again.

Very interesting review, but you left a lot of information out of the picture. The member had a ‘’emergency job'' he called on Wednesday: “I need some exterior painting done ASAP because we are buying a house and have an inspection next Wednesday” I met the next day (Thursday), he was trying to do the work by himself, I wanted to do the work and help them get it done before the inspection. The only bad news was, he was only looking to pay only $500. The house had layers of peeling paint all over. and was in need of lots of scraping, sanding, caulking, priming and painting. I politely explained that the work was going to take a lot more time than the 8 hour coupon he was thinking of purchasing, I offered to provide a free estimate, I took notes and provided an estimate within 30 minutes, I provided with a discounted quote because he is an Angieslist member, he of course was not happy that the job would cost more than $500, I suggested to think about it and let me know, he talked with his wife and agreed on signing a contract, by this time he had only scraped 1 side of the house, which was only 15% and not 50% as he mentioned, but stated that he would finish that side and I should not include it on the estimate, the agreement was that he would provide paints and primers, since he had talked with the manager at the paint store. I made changes to our busy schedule and was able to start the next day (Friday), even on a very busy schedule, because I knew they needed the work done before the inspection. The next day he calls me and says "I was not able to finish scraping the area that I was working on, can you finish it? and can you pick up the paint so I don't have to make the trip all the way there and I will pay for it" I said; of course no problem. We finished scraping the side he couldn't finish at no additional cost. We worked all full days and not half days as he mentions, the first day was very windy and yes, there were a few paint chips that got stuck in the mud due to rain but nothing major, I informed him again that we clean everyday and we would do a final cleaning and inspection at the end of the project, we also worked on Sunday just to make sure the job was done on time and not get rained on. We agreed on a meeting with his wife the next day to make sure we were on the same page, she was 1 hour late, when she got there she agreed that everything was clean and the painting was looking good. We also agreed and I wrote it on the contract to use 'white color' and when we started painting (only a small section), he called and said it's supposed to be 'dover white' I mentioned that we had agreed to 'white' on the contract but I said fine, we'll repaint the small portion and finished the entire job on Monday, 2 DAYS BEFORE THE DEADLINE. When I called on Monday night to inform that the project was done, he said "awesome right on time, this is great". The next day he call me and says "I went to the house yesterday and the final work and clean up is great, send me an invoice”. I emailed an invoice with the additional cost of paints and primers, no answer from him for 3 days, and then he emails me asking for a 15% discount, I was just like "are you kidding me? I was in shock! at this point I had no need to explain how many days it took etc., because we had an agreement, but I did it explain anyway, and I also mentioned that the contract was made at the beginning of the project and I was not going to give a discount after the work was done not only in a professional manner but we also finished 2 days before the deadline, by the way the work took 4 days with 2 painters, and no we did not buy a gallon by error, I explained that we always leave extra paint for 'touch ups', but he was arguing about $20 and I decided to give him credit for it, it turns out that for doing the favor of buying the paint, so he did't have to travel for 2 hours, he was upset because we left extra paint, he also was upset that we finished before the deadline, I guess no matter what we did, he was not going to be happy and was only looking for a way to get a discount, THE REASON OF THE BAD REVIEW IS FOR NOT GETTING AN EXTRA DISCOUNT. FOR THE READERS, just picture this storyline; I will call it 'BRIAN AND THE MECHANIC" just so you can get a better idea: Brian is driving to a very important meeting at work and his car breaks down on the way to work, luckily he finds a mechanic near by. Brian: Hi sir, I have a problem with my car but I need to go to work, this is an emergency, can you fix it as soon as possible? Mechanic: Sir, we are very busy at the moment but I will take your car in and will fix it in about 3 hours, it will cost you $200 Brian: Great, thank you, please finish as soon as possible. 2 HOURS LATER.. Mechanic: Mr. Brian, I have great news, our team of our best technicians worked on your car and is ready to go. We finished in only 2 hours. Do you think Brian should say: Option A: Not only you were able to work on it right away, you also finished faster that I expected and now I can be on my way to work, thank you very much, I'm a happy customer. Option B: You finished already? I'm really mad now, I deserve a 50% discount because you finished sooner than you told me, yes the car looks and works great but if you don't give me a discount I will tell everybody not to use your services and will tell everybody know that you finish your jobs too soon and too clean :) I guess, we'll let the readers decide... We will continue to work hard on making our customers happy and always going the extra mile, even when our efforts are not always appreciated, we know we are doing the right thing and there will be more grateful customers that we can work with. Sincerely Gil Peralta

Overall, very well. The quality of the work was excellent--much better than I expected. We had a couple very minor misunderstandings about the time to meet for the estimate and the person who did the work had very limited English which was difficult for my family member to understand, but what he was trying to say was that he was instructed to touch up several areas adjacent to the damaged area that we didn't expect him to do and we thought he might be going outside of the scope. But no, he was supposed to touch up several adjacent areas to the damage (e.g., completely painted two utility closet doors even though I only asked that the doors be realigned after water damage had warped the frame). Work was competed in one day even though we expected two days of work. Owner checked in frequently by phone to help translate and provide direction, so that issue was easily resolved. Cleanup was impeccable--there was not a speck of paint or dust left. I can't even tell they were here except that my ceiling, trim, walls and doors look like they did when the building was brand spanking new. Showed up on time, provided clear estimate and scope, and results are stunning. I feel like I have a brand new home!
Description of Work: Repaired drywall, paint and trim after water damage from condominium above.

Response from Peralta Painters
Thank you for for your review, it was our pleasure working with you. Yes Tony did a very good job, I'm glad you noticed that we like to keep our work areas clean during and at the end of the project, I had given instructions to Tony, to also do touch ups on other areas that were not part of the contract, (we like to go the extra mile) because I noticed that the other areas could use a fresh coat of paint, Tony also adjusted, primed and painted your doors and frames, since they were stained and cracked. A fresh coat of paint made them look new again. Thank you and we look forward to working with you again in the future. Respectfully Gil Peralta
