I had moved out of my apartment and I thought I would use a Groupon for Oris Cleaning Service to get the corners and cobwebs. I called 3 times over 2 days leaving messages trying to make an appointment. I left dates and times that worked well for me. On the 3rd day I received a phone call back to schedule an appointment. On the day of the appointment I received a bizarre voice mail stating that if I didn't call back they were not going to come out. I called back and spoke with a receptionist who stated that she did not have an appointment for me that day, but she would have Oris call me shortly. I ended up calling back 3 times over the next 3-4 hours. I received a phone call from Oris stating that I didn't call her so they canceled my appointment, but someone could still come out at the time I had originally asked for. So I waited, cleaning my empty apartment. At the time we agreed upon, I called to get the status of the maid. Someone would call me back shortly. I received a phone call back about an hour later stating the maid was on her way, by bus, from the south side. I cancel and got a refund. An hour and a half after that (the maid is 2 and a half hours late now) I get a phone call asking where I'm at... I write a yelp review detailing my troubles making an appointment, them canceling my appointment for no reason, not being able to rebook my appointment in a timely manner, and then showing up ridiculously late after I had canceled. Oris called the next day to argue with me about my Yelp review. She said the things I stated weren't true calling me a liar. I'm blown away and all I could do was laugh at her unprofessionalism. She hung up after a few minutes. She then called back a few minutes later, calmer but still looking for a fight. We talked for a total of 10 minutes, most of the time she was trying to talk over me. She did not feel that what she did was in anyway wrong. She did not feel the way she was acting on the phone was wrong. I then updated my yelp review detailing the belligerent phone call. 1 month later she responds to my yelp review with a statement that would lead you to believe that I buzzed her maid in but refused to answer my door. This was the most bizarre experience I've had with any company ever.

I purchased a "Groupon" for 4 hours of cleaning from this company. The cost of the Groupon was $49. I originally scheduled a house cleaner to come on Tuesday, September 27, however they incorrectly put me in the appointment book for Monday, September 26. I happened to be at home in the morning, so I said it was fine. I should have know there would be problems because they insisted the appointment was Monday and not Tuesday. I'm certain it was suppose to be Tuesday because my Tuesday/Wednesday were going to be spent getting ready for the Jewish High Holiday. Anyway, Monday was fine. The cleaning lady arrived 1/2 hour late because she didn't have a car and had to schlep two buckets, a mop, a broom, a bag of rags and a bag full of cleaning supplies on FOUR buses. She was exhausted before she even got started. After checking with the owner of the company, I asked the woman to stay an additional three hours (total of 7 hours of cleaning) for which I paid $90.00 (on top of the original $49), plus I left her a $20 tip. I had to leave for work, so I left her to clean while I was gone. For the amount of money I paid, she should have been cleaning until 4:30. I left work early and was driving home when I saw her walking toward the bus with all her buckets and stuff, at 4:00. I pulled over, she got in the car, and I took her to the train. When I got home, the first thing I noticed was that the floor in the hallway hadn't been mopped. Then in the kitchen, not only was the floor filthy, she didn't clean in the microwave and didn't pick things up off the counter to wipe. She wiped AROUND things, so of course it was still dirty. Every room of the house had multiple problems so I called the owner of the company to complain. She was suppose to return the following day to fix what wasn't cleaned, but called in the morning on Tuesday and rescheduled for Wednesday. She showed up today (at 7:00 a.m., an hour early...my husband was still in the shower) with another woman to re-clean. My husband and I left for work. When I returned home, the house was clean and smelled good. I went from room to room and they got to everything I had pointed out, so I was satisfied. Then I went into my bedroom and sat down to call and thank her for fixing the problem. The first thing I noticed was there was something missing from my nightstand. My mother, who passed away a few months ago, gave me a Limoges china tray that I kept on my nightstand. I thought perhaps they set it down elsewhere while they were dusting, but I couldn't find it. I called the owner, first thanking her for cleaning, then I said I was troubled because something was missing. I explained what the tray looked like and she said she would call me back. She called her employee, then called me back and at first tried to LIE about the tray saying she found it on the floor broken. Then she said her employee broke it. Now I understand that accidents happen...I break things from time to time, but instead of leaving the broken pieces with a note apologizing, she THREW THE PIECES IN THE KITCHEN TRASH. Then she took the trash bag and threw it outside and didn't leave me a note!!!!! Did she think I just wouldn't notice???!!! Just threw it away with all the nasty food scrapings from last night's dinner!! I tore apart the garbage bag after fishing it out of the outside can and found all the pieces. I'm unable to fix it. I feel like I've been violated! I really can't believe they would try to hide this. Groupon has given me a credit for the $49 I originally spent on the coupon, but who knows if I'll get my additional $90 back, no less the gratuities I paid ($20 for the first woman, and $10 for the woman who ended up breaking my tray!). I know it sounds a little silly to make a big deal about a "thing," but I'm still grieving my mom's death, and then this!! I'm absolutely beside myself with grief. PLEASE, take my advice and do not use this extremely unprofessional cleaning service.

I did not have a very positive experience with this cleaning company. I purchased a Groupon for this cleaning, so I paid $49 for 4 hours of cleaning, which would have cost $100. (When she came for the cleaning, I paid $10 extra for her to wipe down the inside of my fridge.) I'm relieved that I did not pay full price because the cleaning job was quite poor. When I originally tried to schedule the appointment, I emailed the company. The emails I received back were not professional, full sentences and finished a proper signature. They were brief remarks with typos. I would have been fine with that level of communication if the responses were timely, but it actually took several weeks to nail down an appointment. Although they did call to confirm the appointment, they confirmed it for the wrong time. And the person on the phone was not very courteous or friendly, either. When the woman came for the cleaning, she was clearly not happy to be there. She would only clean what I specifically told her to clean. For example, rather than dusting or wiping down the kitchen counter, she left it because I when I mentioned "cleaning the kitchen" I hadn't specified that I wanted her to wipe the counters. For the surfaces that she did clean, she didn't take the time to move the items to clean underneath them. For instance, she didn't move the lamp on the end table and only dusted around it. She cleaned the shower, but she didn't move the shampoo and soap to clean underneath them. She only stayed to clean for 2 of the 4 hours. I would have asked the company to send someone back to finish the other 2 hours that I'd paid for, but the whole experience made me so uncomfortable that I did not want to have the cleaning woman back and just wanted the experience finished.
Description of Work: General housekeeping: steamed floors, cleaned bathroom, kitchen. Did a very poor and cursory job of dusting (did not move items to clean around items like lamps). I paid $10 extra to have the inside of the fridge cleaned.
