On the Ledge Windowbox Designs

I tried to get a jump on this in the spring but the provider was very backed up and stressed out and I had to keep pushing just to have them done by July. That would be forgivable, since she had all these deals going on, but she probably needed to hire help. She seemed charming in a quirky kind of way, which is great, and knowledgable and eager to please with plant selection. But then she started saying really unprofessional things about other customers. Okay, she was having a hard time pleasing people and people can be difficult. But then I found that talking about colors and what I pictured would never stick and she would call and say that I was having a hard time deciding, when I knew from the start what I wanted and it would get changed by her, like she never wrote anything down! We eventually got it straight and she came over and unloaded everything in my alley and seemed irritated that I actually expected her to plant the boxes and she just stayed in the alley and did it. I felt kind of bad for her, but not a pleasant experience!

On the Ledge was very easy to work with and very accomodating. The plant design turned out wonderfully and we are all very happy.

She made three but only put two of them up. She said the third one couldn’t be put up and left it on the porch. It was a hassle to work with her; she was hard to reach and it took several months after our original date for her to get them up. In May, June, and July I didn’t have the flower boxes. I wouldn’t recommend someone who wasn’t reliable. She never once came back to see if the flowers were okay and if I was satisfied. When I’d first spoken to her she’d said she came by all the time to check on her work afterwards.

We love the window boxes and the floor planter. Our neighbors are constantly complementing Joanne's work. Unfortunately, she is quite busy and seems to take on more work than she can handle. A bit hard to get a hold of. We would use her again as her work is excellent.

The completed work was absolutely beautiful. She asked me what colors I liked and took into consideration that none of the locations get direct sunlight. She planted a combination of colors that went together well. The planters and windowboxes were lush and lovely. I would definitely hire her again.

Contact service provider in March for a gift for my son. I had a fabulous conversation with her. She went over to his home, discussed they type of flower to add to the 30' flower box and we never heard from her. On May 23 we contacted her and said she was having problems finding purple flowers. She contacted me on 3 different email saying she needed to know what color to plant. I replied, to all emails, that she is was the professional, to just replace the flowers, get the boxes to him. In June I emailed and said that she can return my money and my sons planters. I emailed again to find out where the window boxes were and she emailed my son saying she would deliver tomorrow, this was the beginning of June. The next day June 4th she called and said the planted flower boxes had been stolen. On June 17, she sent my money back but still has not replaced window boxes. She took 2 30" boxes from my son's property but since I payed for 18" window boxes to be planted, she only wants to replace 18" boxes.

The work was beautiful and the owner obviously takes pride in her work. The only negative was that she may overextend herself. I gave her lots of notice of when I needed the yard to be done -- and she completed it as promised--but she was working til midnight the day before to complete it. So it's a negative that the time-management is perhaps not the best, but a real positive that she got the work done when she said she would.

The designer was very knowledgeable when i spoke with her on the phone to decide on the kind on plants i wanted in my windowbox. She was very accommodating in finding the herbs I wanted and combining them with flowers. The windowbox itself was lovely and the design and quality of the plants was excellent. My real disappointment was in the technical aspects of the planting. There was no lining other than straw to hold the soil or water. So I had to completely replant the box and line it with plastic to hold the moisture needed. The plants all thrived and I enjoyed the flowers and using all the herbs all summer. In fact, I just harvested everything and am drying the herbs for the winter. We also had to reschedule the delivery date and time several times. A bit inconvenient.

When I called for the appointment Joanne and I talked in general terms about what I was I looking for, and when she arrived she brought an array of things for my consideration. She has a wonderful eye and great sense of design and is very exacting about getting things just right. And the results of her careful attention are obvious - the arrangements are perfect and exactly right for me. I couldn't be happier!

Joanne was very responsive from the beginning and very easy to work with. She has a great eye for what looks good and had a nice selection of vegitation to choose from. The finished product was beautiful. I went to her house to select what I though would look good and was even able to make some last minute changes to the decision. The plants held up well (would have lasted longer if I watered more often!) but Joanne guarenteed the product and would come out and replant if anything died. Only issue occured when installing new window boxes where existing boxes already hung. The previous boxes were a bit smaller and therefore weighed significantly less when full of dirt and plants. When the new boxes were installed, it looks as though they were just hung on the already mounted hooks. I noticed much later while tending the plants that the weight of the new boxes was causing the siding to pull away from the house, exposing the interior wall to the outside elements in several areas. I had the problem addressed by a handyman I had already scheduled to come to the house for some other issues. It was just a matter of putting in a few extra screws to hold the siding against the framing I'm glad I saw this (the boxes were above eye level and I only noticed since I was on a ladder) before the winter set in and snow found it's way in the exposed areas and melted there!! Not sure if it could have been prevented unless the box installers (Joanne had people installing the boxes) would have confirmed what the previous anchors were attached to and if they could hold more weight. The box installed in a new place with new anchors had no issues. I would still use Joanne and her services again. The final product was worth it for the price.

We took advantage of an Angie's List "big deal" for a couple of custom flower boxes on our back deck. In short, Joanne would have been easily worth the full cost she would normally charge and was an absolute steal at the "big deal" price. Joanne is a pleasure to work with and it is obvious that she is very passionate about her work. She spoke with us ahead of time to gather information about what we liked or disliked and also took the time to look at the photos of the space. The ideas she came up with were original and thoughtful - she is a true design master when it comes to flowers. And most importantly she goes above and beyond to make sure that the customers are completely satisfied with the end result. She came on a Saturday with a van full of flowers and plants, laid them all out in our yard, and got to work arranging various plant species in the planters. She was very methodical in her approach and a couple of hours later we had a couple of absolutely gorgeous planters. She had a lot of material left over and asked if we would like a third planter. We jumped on the offer and ended up with three gorgeous planters. Joanne's attention to detail in the process of installation was very impressive; you could tell the time didn't matter to her and she wasn't going to be done until everything was just perfect. It has now been a three months since the boxes were installed and they look as great as ever and we've enjoyed them every day this season. During this time we've had a couple of exchanges with Joanne who was more than willing to answer questions and provide suggestions about caring for the plants. We definitely plan to work with her in the future.

Great end result. Took some time with weather to get it all up, but very happy with the end product. Offered to replace any plants that don't make it throughout the summer.

Joanne proactively came by to "scope out" my balcony situation. She then spent some time with me discussing different possibilities, as I gave her my parameters for a successful planting. She, of course, offered her own comments and together we devised a plan. Not only did she install and plant my windowboxes, she also went way beyond to take away my old windowbox. (I don't know what I would have done without that extra service.) I now have a couple of beautifully planted windowboxes on the balcony outside of my bedroom -- and they will continue to be beautiful throughout the summer, as she has also offered to monitor my flowers -- replacing any that die and even coming by to water them when I'm away! I smile every time I look outside -- even when it's raining! Thank you, Joanne.

The window box arrangement was spectacular and we received extremely positive comments all summer long. People would literally stop to comment on the boxes. I was amazed. We will be using Joanne again next summer, as will others in our condo association.

I'm absolutely delighted with the boxes - they're vibrant and beautiful and definitely not ordinary run-of-the-mill.

I contacted Joanne in the middle of May to install window boxes on my front balcony. Joanne came to my house with design boards and photos of her work. Joanne was very knowledgable about the type of plants and flowers that would work best with my schedule (professional and personal) and the location of my condo. Joanne suggested flowers and plants that would flourish with my west facing juliette balcony and east facing balcony unit. In addition to her floral expertise, Joanne assisted in finding and staging the outdoor furniture and accessories. After completing the job in June, Joanne called me this week to say that she had recently driven by my home and saw that my flowers (in the window box) had not grown as she had expected. Joanne offered to come by and replace the flowers...free of charge. That is what I call customer service! I am very pleased with Joanne's work and look forward to working with her again in the spring.

JoAnne did an amazing job creating our window boxes. The design is original and really attractive. We've enjoyed eating on our porch surrounded by her work. And ALL of our neighbors have complimented us on the boxes (one of them even hired JoAnne for their boxes when they saw the finished product).

I've been absolutely delighted with the results each time. The arrangements are aways lovely and creative (like the inclusion of flowering kale in autumn). Great care is taken to make sure they are balanced and attractive; the plants are healthy and high quality, and none of them are high maintenance. I have the boxes on my front porch and we're always getting favorable comments, and it makes me happy each time I see them.
