I searched for gutter contractors on Angie's List, found Nombach, and went to their website. Impressed, I emailed them for an estimate. Both the estimate and the work were done in a timely manner. I got a call the night before installation day, which is acceptable because this work is weather-dependent. On an unbearably hot day, these 3 men did an outstanding job. To top it off, a robin couple had built a nest in the elbow of one of the old garage downspouts. The "foreman" looked in the nest and discovered 3 baby robins. He placed the nest in a nearby tree hoping the robin parents would still care for the babies. I would contract with Nombach again. (Oh--the robins are gone. Not sure what happened.)
Description of Work: Remove old garage gutters and install new with leaf guard. Clean house gutters and install leaf guard.

I spoke to someone over the phone. They came and inspected the home and when I wasn't there. Then later submitted an estimate in the mail. I thought it was much higher than I wanted.

There was a bit of a communication problem initially, but once that was resolved everything went great. When I made the initial call to have someone come out to look at our job, I was told that someone would be out the following Monday to take a look at what was needed. No one came out on that Monday, but I did get a call the following day informing me they would like to set up a time to come out and look at the job and get it taken care of. It was a pretty small job, so not necessarily one that I would collect bids on. Brett came out and was very professional. He hung the siding pieces back up and properly sealed the drain lines as well. When re-hanging the siding he discovered that we were actually missing a piece of siding that had likely blown away. We are currently deciding what to do about the missing piece in order to best match the original product.
Description of Work: A few pieces of siding on a dormer had fallen down the side of the wall and we needed those hung back up in their proper locations. We also have two AC drain lines that exit the wall near that same point. The exit holes for those drain lines were not properly sealed when they were installed; we asked Nombach to seal those for us while they were up there working on the siding. Overall, this was a very small job for them.

I had called Nombach to ask for an estimate on a roofing repair I needed at home. The next day a Mr. Weber from Nombach called back & scheduled an estimate for the following tuesday afternoon at my house. He never showed up nor returned a phone call the next day when I called to ask what happened with the appointment he'd made the past week.
Description of Work: The representative NEVER came out & never returned any other calls other than the initial , see comments below .

We sought 3 bids for an extensive tuck pointing job (all with excellent Angie's list ratings), and Nombach was by far the most responsive and efficient. They took digital pictures and measurements, and got back within a week with a clear reasonable bid. The others contractors took longer coming out, longer to submit their bids?and when their bids did come, they were less precise and definitely more expensive. It was a no-brainer to select Nombach, and they didn't disappoint. The crews arrived on time and did excellent work with little or no impact on our landscaping. The chimney rebuild that they did for us was fantastic?excellent work. Our condo did some lintel replacement and some major tuck pointing work on our face brick two years ago using a different company. That project didn't go nearly as well. I wish we has discovered Nombach earlier and had used them for that project too. I would definitely recommend them.
Description of Work: They tuck pointed large areas on three sides (common brick) of our 6 unit brick building, and rebuilt our chimney.

Before purchasing my home, I had a building inspector check things out and was told the roof was in good condition, but that was four years ago, so I decided to order a routine checkup. I am not experiencing any roofing problems and I?d like to keep it that way. My first stop was Angie?s List and after examining the various companies listed in the roofing category, selected NOMBACH HOME EXTERIORS because of their overall grade of A, and their large number of favorable member reports. A very nice lady took my call and told me I would be getting a callback from their estimator, sometime that day. Within an hour, I received a call from Jack Weber; I explained I wanted a routine checkup, just to be sure everything was O.K.; one hour after that, Jack was here. I had him go ahead and make the roof inspection. He reported that the gabled portion of the roof (the asphalt shingles) are in good shape, good for several more years, but the flat portion was beginning to need some work. The white reflective coating was worn away in several places, portions of the flat roof were beginning to buckle and nails popping up meaning a wind-driven rain could force water inside the brick edges, the flashing around the edges was cracking, gutters need reinforcing with additional hangers in certain areas, and the chimney had two bricks that needed replacing and the chimney needed overall tuckpointing. After explaining all the work that would be done, he showed me photos of the company?s past roofing projects and showed me all the company?s business licenses and permits. I couldn?t see any reason to shop around for another company and realized that, although not urgently needed, the repairs really should be done and that postponing the work was unwise. So I agreed to go ahead and have Nombach make the repairs. Jack wrote up a contract detailing all the work to be done and itemized all charges. On the appointed day, the crew showed up, on time, and went straight to work, led by Jerry Moto. They look very professional in their red t-shirts. When they were finished, they cleaned up the area, then, Jerry explained the work they did. Later, Jack Weber returned for a final checkup, and gave me before-and-after photos of the roof and chimney. I am glad I had the work down, I am glad I used Nombach Co., I think I got excellent service and would use them again.

Nombach was absolutely great. My primary contact was Mark Weber. He was extremely professional, he was knowledgeable and was flexible with his schedule when I needed him to be. He provided me with pictures of what the old roof looked like, identified the problem areas and after the work was done he provided me with a full report (with pictures) of the work that was completed. They started and completed the work without asking for a down payment or any money upfront. I would highly recommend Nombach Home Exteriors to any one looking to have a roof repaired. After a nightmare experience with the first roofing company, Nombach became our saviors. A+ all the way around.
Description of Work: About two years ago, we had what we thought was a new roof installed on our home. After several leaks and other issues, we decided to have another roofing company look at the roof. Nombach Home Exteriors revealed that we had been duped. We did not have a new roof and we desparately needed a new one. Nombach replaced our entire roof in a day and we haven't experienced any more problems.

He was on time, polite and spent time with me. He also measured the door and gave me an excellent estimate. The only reason I did not go with them was because it was beyond my budget. The quality of the door was a better quality than what I was able to afford. I have nothing bad to say about them.
Description of Work: I called them to get an estimate on a security door. The first call I made when they took my information, no one responded. I called them again a week later. The woman apologized and someone did come out. It was the service manager. He said he didn t usually do this type of call but since the previous appointment never happened, he came out. He gave me a written estimate.

Was pleased with how responsive they were (as I have trouble getting good contractors to come to my side of town). Came by for very professional free estimate; estaimated costs the same day and presented. Came back later to sign contracts, the walk thru of paperwork was very well done. Showed list of work done in my area, which was comforting. Let us know up front it would be a couple weeks to start. Crew that came was professional and unobtrusive (didn't inconvenience my mom at all). Cleaned up after each day (seems obvious, but last guy left a pile of rubble for a month!). Got rained out a couple days but finished. Good, clearly well-done, neat. They were always very timely with calls and check-up. Easy process. Would use again.
Description of Work: Major tuckpointing to the top, front face of a six-flat brick building. Came in to finish/fix the work of a previous contractor (crook) who took money and performed poorly. Ground out of mortar and completed tuckpointing. Also replaced missing brick.

I worked with Jack Weber. He was very courteous and always responsive to my calls. He was very patient, and answered all of my questions. If you use them, ask for Jack. I gave Jack my down payment on a Wednesday (5/28), and asked when I could expect that the roofing be started. He stated "by Wednesday or Thursday of next week." I told Jack that I would like someone to call me the day before, so that I could be home. I also asked that Jack write on the contract that I wanted the front awning removed before they installed the front fascia, and that I would tell them whether or not to re-install it after I saw the finished product. When I hadn't heard from anyone at Nombach by the following Wednesday afternoon (6/4) I called Jack. He told me that they'd decided not to start because rain had been predicted. He told me that they would begin working the following Monday (6/10). I told Jack that I wasn't happy with that. I was not able to take off from work on Monday, and I'd be leaving town on Tuesday, so I wouldn't be able to see the work done. He said he'd see what he could do. He called me back later to say that they could start roofing on Friday (6/6) instead. When I arrived home from work on Friday (6/6) I noticed that no work had been done. I checked my answering machine, and there was a message from the contractor(?) informing me that they would begin work on Monday (6/10). However, on Sunday (6/9) I did not receive an advance call, AND there was rain predicted for Monday, so I assumed no work would be done since work had been canceled in the past due to rain predictions. I arrived home from work on Monday evening (6/10) to find that the roofing was done, the gutters, downspouts, soffit, and fascia had been installed, and a Nombach sign placed in the front yard (that I did not agree to). The only thing left to do was to install the siding on the dormers. Also, the awning had not been removed as I requested. They cut and formed the fascia covering around it. The next morning while getting prepared to leave town, I heard a ladder raise and then land against the side of my house. Soon after that I hear hammering, and then another ladder on the other side of the house. I step out to see that workers from Nombach had arrived and began working. No phone call, not even a courtesy ringing of the doorbell to ensure that it was okay that they begin, and that they weren't disturbing anyone. When I asked one of the workers about why the awning hadn't been removed he didn t give me an explanation. Instead he stated that he could remove it, but sometimes they fall apart when they do that. I was upset by the answer but didn't have time to discuss it, as I had a plane to catch. I didn't see the final product until 4 days later when I returned home. I am very happy to have a new roof. Unfortunately, the lack of professionalism tainted what started off as a wonderful process.
Description of Work: Installed a new roof, gutters & downspouts, covered all of the fascia board and the soffit with aluminum, installed aluminum siding on the dormers and replaced all old roofing vents.

The work (gutter replacement and tuckpointing) was performed in November 2007. Two weeks ago (week of April 1, 2008), after heavy rain and wind, two of the gutter brackets came loose. I called the company and Mike Harasty came out within 48 hours. He surveyed the damage and did a service report. The repair work was done within one week of my initial phone call. I was very pleased with the promptness and professionalism of the workman. It was completed to my satisfaction and with no additional cost.

THE ESTIMATOR CAME OUT ON A THURSDAY AS PROMISED, BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IT HAD JUST RAINED. I WAS TOLD THAT HE WOULD BE BACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND WOULD ADD ME BACK ON TO THE LIST. I WAITED 2 WEEKS AND THEN CALLED THE COMPANY BACK. I RECEIVED A CALL, LATE AT NIGHT FROM THE ESTIMATOR ASKING ME WHAT I WANTED. I ASKED WHEN HE WOULD BE OUT TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE FOR THE JOB. HE INFORMED ME THAT HE DECIDED NOT TO COME BACK DUE TO WHAT I TOLD HIM ABOUT THE ROOF AND PROBLEM AND I COULD CALL THEM WHEN I WAS READY TO HAVE THE ROOF REDONE. I CALLED THE COMPANY ON A FRIDAY TO TALK WITH THE OWNER/BOSS AND WAS TOLD HE WASN'T IN. I CALLED LATER AND LEFT A MESSAGE FOR THE OWNER TO CALL ME. I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE ESTIMATOR ASKING WHAT I WANTED AND I SAID I WAS WAITING FOR A CALL FROM "ROBERT" AND HE ASKED WHO THAT WAS. ANGIE'S LIST SHOWS CONTACT AS EDWARD. I WILL NOT BE DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY IN THE FUTURE.
