Nombach Roofing & Tuckpointing

An appointment was made with the estimator, Bret. He came out during the hours we agreed. The projects were explained to him. He took pictures of all the work that was to be done. Bret then sat down with me and explained what would be done. He had a "show book" which presented the history of the company and places in the neighborhood where they had done other work. Bret then showed me the material that would be used on the roof, explained what would be done on the lower roof and the work on the tuckpointing on the south wall. He then presented an estimate (including the discounts that were applicable). We discussed financing options, what the down payment would be, and how soon they would start. After discussing this with my spouse, we decided to hire this company to do our projects. After signing the contract, the workers began the projects a couple days later. A big concern for us was warranty and Bret assured us that the labor and roof would be under warranty. The work went quickly as they were trying to complete it before the weather turned bad. Toward the end of the project, there was a minor miscommunication on our part about when the work would be completed. However, it was cleared up and the work was completed satisfactorily. The workers were professional, answered any questions we had, and cleaned up the property when they completed their work.

Nombach quoted price a year ago, once board could decide on vendor it was too cold and late in the season to perform work. Had Nombach revisit the site and verify quote. Quote was higher upon second revision. Found out that first price was due to late season possibility of work. Prices were in line with other vendors quoted. So work proceeded with Nombach. Met with Brent several times and he was helpful in getting job quoted, signed, and performed.

I can't be more pleased with the quality, efficiency and professionalism from start to finish. Their craftsmanship has improved the appearance and quality of my home without a doubt. What I thought was a small seepage issue in my basement turned out to be a major problem with my roof. Our salesman, Brett Rhodes, identified the problem and made sure that my roof was replaced immediately just in time before a rain storm. We no longer have a "seepage" issue in our basement thanks to him. Our soffit and facia adds to the beauty and value of our home. The tuck pointing looks outstanding, and best of all, our ugly back porch is now replaced with beautiful, newly configured steps. Brett has a passion for forming concrete and we knew from the start that our eyesore of a porch would be transformed into something that we can be proud of. All of the staff are truly wonderful. They are punctual, respectful and they leave the work area immaculate. Kudos to all who worked on our property! They did an outstanding job. I will not hesitate to call on them for future projects and will recommend them to my family and friends.

Nombach came out and give an excellant presentation along with excellant pricing. They replaced all my old gutters and added gutter guards and seal the drains. Every question that I had was answered, I didn't feel like I was being rushed into anything. While the workers were working they informed me of every step along they way. Once they were done we took a walk around and they explained everything to me. They even found roots growing from one of the drains and will come back out to seal it once I get rid of the roots. They only asked for a $50 deposit and they are coming back out to get the remaining balance. They even gave me $75.00 off. I will use Nombach again, I already have estimates for three other projects.

Called for an estimate and was told they couldn't come out until a week later on a Wednesday. That Wednesday came and went without so much as a phone call. I called them Wednesday evening to see what happened and never even received a call back. If I can't even get them to come out for an estimate, I don't want to rely on them to perform work on my home.

Estimate was very reasonable, estimator was same guy as for the roof. Very punctual and professional, and I plan to use when I actually do the job.

They were prompt, and gave me an estimate. They were professional. I decided to go with another company because of price.

I decided to put a new window in before the masonry work. We considered them because we did like the estimate and the gentleman that did the estimate. It was a matter of finances, as to what project I was going to do first. I still may call them out late this year. They were professional and I liked them.

Outstanding service. They did what we asked promptly and cleaned up after themselves. It was the best experience we have had with a Chicago company.

1 Nov 10 @ 8:32 a.m. ? A representative said since they gave us an estimate for the damage the previous year before the siding actually blew off he would not come out to the house. They said they would use the previous information they had on file and e-mail us an estimate. We received the estimate, but it was on the high side. We ended up using another company to do the work.

We played telephone tag for a while, which was no Nombach's fault and is not reflected in the ratings above. However, once we made contact we agreed upon a time frame for Nombach to come to my house for a quote. I never heard from them again and didn't feel like chasing when I was trying to give them my business.

My main contact was Mark Weber and if I had to grade them on my experience with him, they would still get an A. The entire experience was great, despite the delays which were weather related. Mr. Weber work diligently with me on financing arrangements, was professional and patient. As soon as the weather broke, his crew was on the job, on time and professional. This roof job just before Christmas, was a present from myself to myself. Now I can go forward with one less problem on my mind. Can't wait until the snow clears so I can take a better look at it. (Just one thing, there was so much ice, they could not clear the gutters, but I was assured they would be back to get that done.) Thanks Update: As of today January 4, 2011, the roof has passed the extreme melt we had on 12/30 and 12/31 along with the storms, so far so good.

Great experience from start to finish. Excellent communication, quality, and cleanup. Prompt on the day of instillation. Likely will use again.

They came out and talked with me then worked up the quotes. Nothing in particular stood out to me about them except that they handled everything very well.

They use a different mixture than a lot of other mortar companies, so it last longer. They also took pictures and left them with us as to what they would do and why it was necessary. They were just very thorough and came across as very honest. The price they quoted me was $6500.

Roogers were on time and did an excellent job. No scraps were laying about the yard and the property looked the same as when they arrived except for the new roof and chimney. Very nice! Will recommend them to anyone!

Did inspection and measurements then said I would have an estimate tuesday. Gave him e-mail address and said he would send it and mail a hard copy. Nothing ever materialized so I went with someone else.

The workers showed up at about 8:00 am and started working right away. I was impressed by their overall approach to the job. They worked non-stop and completed the job by 1:00 PM.

5 roofers arrived and performed duties appropriately. Workers cleaned afterwards as promised. Salesman called afterwards with regard to workers performance and work quality.

Very thorough in their estimate. Best of the estimates we received but also the most expensive. Did not get the work done, yet. Decided to put it off until the fall of this year. There still on the list.

We had 3 estimates done and theirs was almost 50% higher than the next estimate. I felt that the gentleman who came out was certainly was knowledgeable. He certainly seemed to know what he was talking about and everything he said made sense to us. I did ask him to explain the difference why their prices were so much higher than the other and he said they hand mix their materials. I have no doubt they probably do very good work. There was nothing that made us say we don?t want to work with them other than their price. They seem very responsive. They made an appointment with us pretty quickly for the estimate and came out when they said they would. He seemed to bristle a bit when I asked him about the difference in price; he seemed a little annoyed with that.

I was met at my home by Bret Rhodes who explained my options and the cost of each. No pressure or overselling. I made my decision and Bret gave me a timeline for start and completion. Work was done promptly with site cleaned. I was completely satisfied and will not hesitate to use them again and I would recommend them to anyone.

Cliff stated he arrived at my home and found the doorbell missing, which is the case, and left. I was home and as all folks who come for appointments or deliveries call my cell phone which was provided. I'll take responsibility for this attempt. However, I called twice, two separate days, to reschedule. The person answering said she would call Cliff and he would get back to me. No contact from this company or Cliff since. I have a substantial budget for roofing repair, siding and tuckpointing that will be spent elsewhere.

It went very well - we are very happy with the work.
