They prepped the whole thing, removed the moldings, installed a really nice floor and re-installed the moldings. It turned out excellent!

Charles was a pleasure to work with. The unit was in a 1970s building with concrete floors that were very uneven. Charles and his crew smoothed out the surfaces, tore out old carpeting and installed beautiful hardwood floors and new carpeting. Work was done on time and on schedule. He corrected a problem leftover from last owners with amazing results. He even replaced 3 of my blinds for me - he can handle any of your needs. Definitely we use him again.

Everyone we dealt with at Nationwide were professional. Charles gave us a reasonable quote for work that included removing nails, replacing water-damaged boards, sanding, staining, and finishing the wood floor. Although the workers were efficient and skilled, they failed to replace the water-damaged boards as originally agreed. The results were acceptable enough to not require this work post hoc. Charles deducted the cost of work that wasn't done from the original quote. So in the end, we got the results we wanted for less than expected. All in all, a good experience with this company. We will definitely call upon them again for future work.

Charles has been great from start to finish. He's upfront with everything and follow through with my initial inquiry in a very comprehensive manner. He's always on time and the work was done in a timely fashion. The floor and carpet both look great and his crew cleaned up very well. I'd recommend him to our friends who need this kind of work done.

Went fine, start to finish. First, I called the company for an estimate and Charles soon came with samples and we agreed on a price (including Angie's List discount) which I believe was very reasonable for purchase & installation of Mohawk carpeting & padding. Soon, Charles called back with a proposed installation date. His two-man crew came promptly on time on the agreed-upon date, set to work, and soon had the carpeting installed very nicely, including moving heavy pieces of furniture in & out. They vacuumed the rooms and left them nice & clean, carried the old carpeting & padding out to the alley, and were on their way. Later that day Charles phoned to make sure everything had been done satisfactorily, and he delivered the warranty material, etc., the following day. It was a pleasure doing business with this well-organized & qualified company.

Charles was fantastic! My wife and I were under a severe time crunch to get carpet installed in our new home (4 days). I called Charle's on a Sunday (while they were closed), left a message and he got back to me same day. He understood my situation and my timeline and set up an appointment for a quote the next day. Charles arrived on time and was very professional. Due to our timeline the only carpet choices we had were those he had in stock, which was understandable. We didn't end up using Nationwide because another company had the a specific carpet we were looking for, but Charles gave us the best price and if we had more time, would have gone with his services. It was excellent. When he came he had to match it to our other floor. He found a wood that was fine. His workers were excellent. They moved our furniture for us. They did a thorough job. He is very knowledgeable about floors and I will use him again. The price was right and he gave us the discount we had from the Angie's List publication.

We used Nationwide Floor & Window Coverings for some remodeling work done in a condo we just purchased in Chicago in August 2012. We met with the owner, Charles Jones, and he was very helpful in bringing samples by our house. We eventually picked carpet, backsplash tile, and window coverings for our place, plus we contracted with NFW to redo our hardwood floors, including sanding, staining, and applying a water-cure finish. We chose a dark color for our floors. Making all of these selections was very simple and Charles was most accommodating to our needs and time. We had a number of issues during our kitchen remodel, including some unsatisfactory work and one accident that caused some flooding in our basement bedroom. In each instance, Charles was responsive and resolved the situation to our satisfaction, of course including repairing the damage caused by the mini-flood. To Charles credit, he addressed all of our issues in a reasonable and timely manner. The biggest problem that I had with NFW Chicago were the subcontractors. When Charles was able to get more "expert" people working on our remodel, we were happy with the results. He continues to use these people and i believe that NFW Chicago can be recommended based on Charles' personal commitment to the customer.

Our first quote came from someone referred through a big box retailer. It came in WAY above budget so we tried to determine if it made sense to phase in the purchase over several months or if we needed to scale back. The representative did not seem interested in deviating from his initial quote which lead us to Angie's List. After reading a number of reviews, we made an appointment with Nationwide Flooring and Window Coverings. I must admit that I went into the meeting with a slight apprehension because so many of the reviews commented on his low prices. I wanted value, but didn't want 'cheap' window treatments. Charles arrived as scheduled and spent quite a bit of time with us. As it turns out, he was showing us the exact same premium Hunter Douglas items that we had seen in our first consultation. Understanding our budget constraints, Charles also provided us to lower cost alternatives that still provide the quality design. On that first visit Charles must have spent two hours talking through options and helping us select less flashy things for rooms like the gym and the closets, so that we could afford the really nice ones for the main floor of the house. Our initial proposal from Nationwide was about 30% lower than our other bid, and we felt like their solution fit our needs better. We made some modifications to the order and engaged Nationwide for our project. Charles returned to show us all of our selections again and to verify the measurements. Installation was a breeze - within a couple of hours all the window coverings were in place and the representative pointed out important tips about them. One of the shades arrived damaged. Charles was wonderful to work with as was the gentleman who came to install the blinds. Charles was responsive and gave us the most competitive price of the three different vendors from whom we received quotes. We would definitely work with Charles again if we needed blinds in the future. His price was almost half of the crazy, ridiculous price Eddie Z's gave us for the same blinds, he was able to have the blinds installed in 2 weeks (instead of 6 weeks like the other two companies), and they don't appear to outsource the installation (as it seemed was the case with the other companies). When our blinds were installed there were two fascia that weren't quite cut the correct way for the cord to hang on the desired side, but the man installing the blinds was able to fix the problem the very next day. The fact that they cut and assemble the blinds themselves means that it's easy to get quick turnaround if there's any problem at all.

From the beginning of the process Charles at Nationwide was extremely responsive. I obtained quotes from 4 companies, and decided to use Nationwide. Their quote was right in line with other well rated Angie's list providers, and they were able to perform all of the required work-refinishing/restaining floors, installation of new wood floors and installation of carpet. Charles and his team were able to begin the work immediately after we closed on our new home and they were able to finish all the work according to our specifications within a tight timeframe and with us out of town. And the result was wonderful. The maple floors that were refinished turned out beautifully-I can't say enough about how wonderfully they turned out. We went from extremely light, natural maple to a much darker saddle color and the result was great! Within minutes of arriving at the house Charles' team sanded a section of the maple floors and prepared stain samples for my husband and I to decide from which made the process much easier than trying to decide from swatches. In addition, carpet was removed from a stairway and all the upstairs bedrooms and the wood treads on the staircase were refinished, the risers were painted and the hallway and bedrooms received new engineered wood floors which look great. The basement had berber carpet installed which also looks great. Working with Charles at Nationwide was a truly positive experience. The work was top-notch and the followup has been fantastic. The floors look beautiful and they did an outstanding job. I am very pleased with the end product. I would highly recommend them to do any future product.

The job took about 4 days. I decided I would get a place to stay outside of the condo while the work was done. I had no regrets doing that and made it like a mini vacation. I would use this company again and can't say enough positive things. Even though this was done in December right before the holidays. I am so glad I had this company and it was a wonderful Christmas present and a great way to have my holidays.

I contacted Charles Jones via Angie's list and he responded very promptly. We exchanged a few emails during which I explained what I was looking for and we spoke briefly over the phone prior to arranging an appointment. Charles came to my condo and brought several samples; he had obviously listed carefully to my needs because he brought with him several flooring samples that were right in line with my taste and desired design direction. We quickly settled on a high quality laminate flooring (moisture resistant - this was being installed in a basement lower level of a duplex-down) and pet-resistant carpeting. Nationwide installed the carpet and flooring within a few weeks of order and did a great job on the installation. Charles visited several times during the install to make sure things were going well and the workers were very prompt, worked in an organized fashion, polite and cleaned everything up afterward. They did a great job and I'd use Nationwide again.

A's across the board. Charles was one of the most pleasant people I've worked with, and there have been a lot lately since I just got finished moving and have used services of many types from Angies list. He was friendly, professional and prompt. The blinds look good. I was fairly indecisive about what I wanted, and Charles made a suggestion that ended up being just right for the space. The price was about half of what I was quoted from a different company. This is because it was a more affordable brand, but the quality is good, so I'm happy.

Charles was relaxed and organized and very upfront, and he showed me quite a few samples of flooring, telling me the pros and cons of each in terms of price, look, how it would endure the wear and tear of my wheelchair, etc. I chose something a little expensive but well worth it. He described his strategy for keeping me comfortable and able to move around my place while the work was going on. He said the entire job would take no more than 5 business days. The Friday prior to the onset of work, he delivered the wood to my apt. He brought with him Alex, the person who along with his son was going to do the actual labor, and David, who was going to help me pack up each room before the work to be done each day, and unpack and replace as each room was finished. David was so lovely. He was smart and knew exactly what he was doing which turned out to be quite tricky, and he actually treated my home as if it were his own. If I needed reassurance, he was there. Anything I asked for he would do. He took pains to cover my furniture with tarp so it wouldn't get dust on it. I can't begin to list the many things he did to protect my belongings from damage and to minimize my stress. He was professional throughout. I could not believe Charles was providing all this assistance to me, all included. Alex and his son arrived promptly Monday morning and immediately went to work. They worked straight through for 8 solid hours, tearing up carpet and disposing of it, laying down cork, cutting wood to fit hallways, rooms, closets of all sizes. They claimed they ate lunch but they must have been fast eaters. The pace of the work was amazingly fast. They actually finished every Inch of floor by the end of Thurs. That night i went out for dinner while Charles and David put my bedroom together, everything in it's place. On Friday they all returned to finish putting the trim around the floors and remove glue and sweep and mop every room, and put all the furniture in place. They cleared out by 2 pm. The apartment looked beautiful. If you're contemplating an upgrade in your home, I can't imagine any company could do a better job.

Charles was professional, honest and very accommodating throughout the entire process. He came to our home with wood blind samples. We live in an old victorian and wanted the blinds to match the woodwork (which was not an easy task). Charles spent a lot of time assisting us in identifying a good match. He measured the windows several times over to ensure the blinds would be a good fit. At first, we weren't sure about the color sample we chose. Charles returned the next week with additional color samples to help us come to a final decision and measured the windows again to be sure he had the correct demensions. The blinds were installed within a few weeks. They looked great. However, the valances were cut a little short and did not entirely cover the blind at the top of the window. We contacted Charles and set up an appointment for him to stop by to take a look. He replaced the valances without an issue. Our new window treatments are a big improvement.

The owner, Charles, arrived promptly with his workers . We live in an upscale condominium building and Charles complied with all the rules and regulations of the condominium association. The workers were professional and very neat. The workmanship was of the highest caliber. The project was completed one day earlier than expected. The only complaint that I had was with the entry door binding and rubbing. The complaint was quickly resolved.

Nationwide Windows and Floors was the company I chose to re-do my wood floors after there had been a flood in my kitchen and living room. The wood was buckled and the two rooms were a mess. I had three estimates and the one from Nationwide was the best. I found the owner, Charles Jones, to be courteous and professional. He answered all my questions and returned to show me samples and discuss the steps of the job. His helper, Victor, was a expert in every way. He did the sub-floors, installed the wood, and put on the veneers. Charles supervised the whole process and made sure I was happy. If I worried, he explained the step until I understood it. Considering I have not had to hire a contractor for such an extensive project, I feel he did an excellent job.The end result was a modern looking floor in a beautiful color and one that gets compliments every time any one enters my home. I would recommend him very highly. He does excellent work at a fair price.

We spoke to Charles about replacing the floor in our kitchen. He was very knowledgeable about flooring and brought a wide selection of samples. He was punctual, on-time and very professional. Although we chose a different path we would definitely call upon him again to complete an estimate.

Everything went very well. Alex completed the flooring work in two full days. They had offered to help move the larger furniture but we did that on our own, in addition to removing all the old quarterround. A few days after the installation, I noticed two small problems. Charles came out immediately, acknowledged our concerns and Alex returned modified the areas of our concern(he replaced one plank located in the middle of the doorway entrance that had a very large knot which although natural didn't look right.) The floor looks beautiful. Charles did a great job in steering us in the right direction with our selection of flooring and Alex was a wonderful installer. He also cleaned up extremely well. The carpeting was installed after our flooring and painting was completed. Being a smaller job, the carpeting went in a just two hours. Other than one small area in which I should have been consulted re the carpeting, overall it was done well and looks great.

I am very pleased with the end product. Dave, who runs the company, was very patient with me in scheduling. I really appreciated that. Also, the people who installed the laminate flooring had some really tricky areas to work around and they did a really amazing job putting the flooring in.

Charles had a wealth of samples and was helpful and patient. He kept me posted throughout the process of ordering, fabricating, etc., including advising me that some of the material had to be returned because of some small defects. John, the installer, is extremely knowledgeable and also provided excellent advice along with excellent installation. Would I use them again? I have - I am eagerly awaiting the installation of some window treatments for additional rooms.

I thought they were very responsive. They did a good job. I would recommend them.
