This company was formerly known as Golona's remodeling. In the process of remodeling my bathroom and painting my living room/kitchen, Daniel & his worker made a 8 inch x 5 inch tool gash mark in my new hardwood floors right in front of my kitchen sink. Cost of 1 box of hardwood is $128.00 (I have no spare pieces), not including labor to fix. He also made 2 (2 inch) scratches in my granite counter top next to the kitchen sink. I mentioned to him that I was very concerned that all he did was place red paper on my hardwood floors to protect them. And after coming in and out over the winter the paper got to be very bad and I was worried that there were all these dust/wood particals that could get under the paper and that he would be scratching up my floors if he didn't be careful to keep the dust/wood to a minimum. There are scratches all over my floor, including a 7 inch one right when you walk in my door. After I complained, Daniel used wax to clean my floors which made things EVEN WORSE since it left my floors with no shine at all but left them SUPER dull and muted, like a gray covering. Daniel said he would come and fix them which he did but they still don't look like new floors anymore. I was told my vanity would be delivered in 8-10 weeks, however, it took 26 weeks to be delivered. From day 1, I had given Daniel the stats on the vanity size and the Kohler sink I purchased. He said all is good. Well, the vanity came and sat in my living room for awhile waiting for Daniel to install. He finally installed the cabinet so I called the granite guys to come out and measure for the countertop. I get a call from Daniel saying the granite guys said the sink is too big for the cabinet!! I'm furious now since I'd given Daniel all the info months ago and he said all was good AND wasted time waiting for him to install once it arrived. AND, I spent almost 3 weeks going to every place imaginable trying to find a sink that would fit the vanity, but no such luck (unless I wanted to use a very small bar sink). My vanity is from Italy and they tend to make their vanities slimmer. So, my only options were to order a new custom order vanity which would have cost me apprx $2,000 more since I would only receive a 50% credit for my original vanity since Daniel had already installed it AND I would have to wait another "8-10" weeks (yeah, right) for delivery. The other option was to have my original vanity reconfigured which a friend mentioned to me that he had a fantastic guy that does beautiful woodwork. So, I delivered the vanity to this guy and he did a BEAUTIFUL job but cost me another $450 to do reconfigure. When we took the vanity off the wall to deliver to the woodwork guy, we noticed a long crack in the wall tile which would have to be repaired before we can re-hang the vanity now that it has been reconfigured. Plus, another tile has to be repaired since Daniel screwed the original vanity into the wall and now this tile will be seen since we had to reconfigure the vanity. This still isn't fixed. URGH! I used 12x24 tiles on my bathroom walls and floors. Daniel first installed my floor tiles going the wrong way, so I had to pay for another 2 boxes of floor tile ($161.96). When he finished installing them, he grouted the tile, but there are several 1-2 inch gaps where there is NO grout at all. There are some tiles that will move when you walk on them since some have no grout. This still isn't fixed. And, the bathroom floor is about 3/4 inch lower than the hallway floor, which means it wasn't leveled. When I originally spoke to Daniel, I told him I am very particular about wanting flat, smooth walls and that I had completely drywalled all my other walls in the living room and kitchen and wanted him to do the same in the bathroom. He had this noted in the contract (which I have attached below) that he would drywall the bathroom. Well, needless to say, he did not drywall ANY of the walls which ae all still lumpy. When I brought this to his attention he said he would fix them and when I came home from work, I see that all he started to do was spackled right on top of the painted wall, still not drywalling them. He then said he is done, not coming back. Also, after Daniel installed all the wall tiles, I noticed I had 4 unused boxes of wall tiles. When I asked him why I had soo much left over, he said the place where I purchased the tile must have made a mistake, but I gave them the exact square footage that Daniel requested. Because of this, I overpaid $184.22 for tile I didn't use! When I asked Daniel why I had an obvious open crack in the corner of the wall where one wall joins the other tiled wall, he told me it needed to be caulked. I've attached a picture of his caulking work. It looks like he literally took his finger and applied the gray caulk to the crack in the wall. Definitely not a straight line. When Daniel installed my new toilet, he didn't cover the 2 bolts in the floor with the toilet caps. When I asked him about this, he said they did not come with the toilet. So I had to call Kohler who were nice enough to send me new caps but also told me that the caps are always included with the toilet. When I asked Daniel about this he said he probably threw them out with the box. After Daniel installed the toilet, it leaked when the toilet was flushed (just gross) and since he was out of town said he could fix as soon as he returns but couldn't come right after he returned because he was busy. Seriously??? I said, I have NO toilet so I'd like you to come the first day you are back in town, not 2 days later. So he did come by, but I was really upset because I didn't have a toilet for almost a week. *I have only 1 bathroom in my condo. There were some hold ups on my end. After I choose and purchased my tile, friends and family were telling me they thought the color was way too dark for my small bathroom so I looked at new tile for 2 days but then told Daniel I'd keep as is. So the hold-up on my part was 2 days or so. Daniel said he was going to have to charge me an additional $1,000 for the bathroom since he put in new pipes for my sink and also put in a new ceiling (both which I did not ask for). $1,000 is alot of money over the $5,500 fee we agreed to. I had received 3 different contractor bids and choose Daniel since his was in the middle and also was referred to me. I wasn't aware that contractors can ask for more money after a contract is signed. Daniel mentioned he had a guy who was a great painter and could paint my condo for $1,550, including paint. ALL of my walls were already brand new drywall and primed (this was done prior to my bathroom project w/Daniel) so all that needed to be done was painting, no prepping since walls were already very nice and clean and straight. I gave Daniel 1st payment of $775 and agreed to pay him after all the painting was done. Well, after painting was done, I noticed the large dent in my new hardwood floors and the 2 scratches in my new granite counter tops (see Item #1 above). The paint job was just awful....I had paint on my new kitchen cabinets, paint drops on my hardwood floors, gaps where the painter should have filled in, uneven lines all over the edges, dark blotches in walls in 2 places, etc. I was really upset about all this to say the least considering all of the other above items that were a disaster, and did not pay him the 2nd half ($775). Thank goodness I had his painter do only the living room, kitchen and hallway.
Description of Work: Complete bathroom remodel. Also painted the living room & kitchen.
