The customer service people were polite, but they were not competent in resolving my concerns. This includes supervisory staff. Talking nicely does not make up for the glaring errors here. After the hours spent holding and waiting for an answer regarding this bill I thought the matter was solved. But the manager did not credit my account in accordance with what I actually received in writing. An honest mistake maybe but so far no one at MCI will state that or remove me from collections until this matter is solved. .
Description of Work: On 3-16-2009 I discontinued my MCI service I receieved a final bill for $46.55 and called customer service on 4-21-09. Spoke with representative ID #1303. She reviewed at my request the tax and surchage section of the bill. Services were prorated to $27.41 for service from 2-24 to 3-4 and tax listed at $19.14. During this call we reviewed each tax rate or charge & percentage of the bill. Two errors were able to be "sent to the back office for crediting that day" and at least two other charges of the bill were still being investigated. During this call, Michelle Customer service ID # 0938 who identified herself as a Supervisor stepped in to help me out and personally called me back a number of times to let me know that her investigation around how these taxes are calculated had not yielded any results. She called each time she said she would and had no answers. On or around 5-1 we started receiving collections calls from MCI regarding this bill. I called back on 5-5-09 and spoke with collections I was informed that customer service could place a hold on a bill in dispute so it would not be sent to collections. Then Michelle and I had a three way call with Nuvia in the collections dept Customer service id # 2057. She stated a hold would be placed on sending the bill to collections for 15 days as that would give customer service time to finish there investigation. During that call Michelle came up with the idea of reviewing the charges on my taxes from the start of my service with MCI and called back on 5-6-0 to state that she will be crediting my account with $32.46. I received written confirmation of this credit on 5-18-09. I called the automated system 5-19-09 to ensure that credit was applied correctly and the system stated that credit of $6.62 was applied on 5-6-09. This is the amount Michelle had stated would be left on my bill. When I contacted customer service 5-20 they informed me there was no balance as the account was forwarded to collections. I asked for a manager's involvement and Ms. Lopez was assigned. End result yet to be determined. I am asking for MCI to send me a final bill stating the correct amount of $6.62 and that my account be removed from collections until MCI correctly follow the correspondence sent to me. I will send a check for the $6.62 once I have received written documentation verifying that my account in NOT in collections and that $6.62 is the only payment needed for final settlement. I have made a complaint with the FCC Finally I would like the computations of taxes and the $32.46 credit explained to me in detail. At this point I need to question even the basic. All consumers of MCI would do well to question this. If they overcharged me $32.46 they probably overcharged you too.

They didn't do any work they just billed me for it.
Description of Work: A follow up of my last report regarding MCI phone company---they sent me another bill today even though I don't use MCI and have never used MCI and the supervisor promised to take my name off their computer system. I just won't respond anymore because I have wasted so much time on the phone trying to resolve this and it's useless. I have been getting phone bills for several months already. Hopefully not responding won't adversely effect my credit rating.
