Perfectly. Without hesitation, I would hire them again.
Description of Work: They did an excellent job. On time. On Budget. They even went above and beyond my expectations. I had them build a custom piece of furniture that I get many comments on and asked where did I get it.

The quality of the workmanship and installation is excellent. Mike has an eye for design and was able to translate it well to drawings. I was able to work with them on the proposal to manage the cost - he gave me options where costs could be reduced. I would recommend them highly from a skill level and workmanship. They also took very good care of my home during the installation - cleaning up throughout the home. They were not the lowest quote I received on the work but I believe the quality is high. With that said, I had to be very patient and flexible in communicating with Mike and in getting the installation(s) scheduled. He was not always responsive and required multiple follow ups.
Description of Work: Two phases of work. First was built in floor to ceiling oak units (cabinets with drawers and shelves) on either side of a fireplace. Required a clever design to use the space well without have deadspace and matching current woodwork and crown moulding. They did a great job making the units look like they were built in with the original home. The second phase was required because the oak crown moulding installed with the cabinet made the painted crown moulding in the rest of the room not look right. They replaced with painted crown moulding with oak. Both installations required some touch up painting which Mike handled very well.

We were pleased over a year ago with design and installation and remain as satisfied with durability and maintenance.
Description of Work: Mike and he MAZI crew helped us (for the second time) design and build some custom furniture. This type we built a cabinet to mimic build-ins for a basement. The piece was massive and turned out better than expected. Mike worked with us on design and invited us out to shop twice to ensure that it stayed on point.

I love this company. They are my favorite guys to work with. They have done multiple things for me, and I have recommended them to a lot of people. They are wonderful, have fantastic work, and worked to my budget. They have good ideas too. For example, the installed crown molding around anair-conditioning vent and still made it look good.
Description of Work: They built multiple bookshelves, a door in the basement, cabinets, and CD drawers in the cabinets.

Mike and the team at MAZI are professional and nobody is better for custom work. We look forward to them helping with our next project.
Description of Work: The team at MAZI designed and built a terrific furinture piece for our finished basement. The piece was made of pine and was matched to our existing cabintry such that it seems like the piece was always a part of the decor.

Overall, the project was a complete success. Was completed slightly later than projected, largely due to the uneven-ness of our floors (building circa 1920). Mike and the MAZI team came back 4-5 times after "completion" to tackle minor issues with no complaining and no additional cost.
Description of Work: Construction of bookshelves and cabinets on two whole walls of family room, including build around projection TV and A/V components. Upper half was bookshelves with lower half being cabinets, some with pull-out drawers. One upper included glass doors with glass display shelving and puck lighting. They also moved some electrical and speaker connections to accommodate the A/V already built into the room. Millwork was all custom, with painted (white) finish.

We set up an appointment. Dan called the day of the appointment to confirm, he arrived and was extremely thorough with measuring, discussing various options, taking some snap shots. Then I never heard back. Dan had left me a business card for Mazi - the number was disconnected. Then I called the number from Angie's List which worked and I left a message, but I never got called back. I called a second time a week later, again never heard back. I find it really aggravating that vendors would be so unprofessional, I really don't understand it because Dan took so much time with the measuring, etc. We received an estimate from another contractor for $4,500
Description of Work: I called Mazi to get an estimate for 2 projects, first replacing the trim and decorative elements surrounding an exterior front door and second replacing 3 sets of closet bi-fold doors with sliding doors. The estimate above is what I was quoted by a different carpenter.

The owner of Mazi called and very politely told me that it was a smaller job than they normally do, but gave me a reference for someone who could do the job. I scheduled the work with the recommended worker. The finished work was fantastic. The shelves look beautiful and the crown molding is perfect. He even took the time to match the pattern where it overlapped. The reference was excellent. If we ever do need a larger carpentry project, I'll definitely call Mazi.

We have been very pleased with the results. Mike was quick to respond to our inquiry and was very punctual. We had a slight hiccup in scheduling the work, but ultimately we completed the work in a timely manner. The crown itself looks fantastic, and Mike did an excellent job with all the joints. Some bids came in a bit under Mike's but I am very happy with the value I received. Both he and his workers were professional and courteous as well. I would highly recommend MAZI for future crown installations.
Description of Work: Painted and installed 275 feet of mdf crown moulding in a condominium. Mike: 0. Promptly arrived for free quote 1. Ordered and picked up the pre-primed mdf crown. 2. Applied the first coat of paint before installation at his site. 3. Delivered the crown to our location. 4. Cut the crown to size on site and installed (with one other person). 5. Caulked and filled nail holes (steps 3 - 5 on first day) (with one other person). 6. Applied second coat of paint (second day).

Mike came over to quote the job. Got back to me right away with some ideas and even some drawings. We worked together to tweak them to specification and then started working on the project. The work was done beautifully. He even helped me out with a couple of other small things. Mike is a wonderful craftsman and a lovely person to boot!

They did a great job! Mike had quoted us one price, and when the project was finished, he said that it was less work than he thought and said the actual price would be lower than the estimate. We would definitely use them again.

He did a great job, was very pleasant and did more than needed for the quoted price (cut and installed a piece of hardwood for just outside the closet door).
Description of Work: Someone (Oliver, I believe) came out a day after we called and hung some heavy wooden closet doors for us. He did a great job. Other work (sanding wood windowsills) was planned, but could not be completed because our woodwork was too thin.

Excellent. Mike provided design drawings of how he thought the project should be approached. I was able to modify the drawings in order to get exactly what I wanted before we began. He and Dan, the carpenter, were punctual and highly skilled. And, the price was very competitive.

Great job, looks great, very nice detail work. Mike is a pleasure to work with. Only nitpick is, that they left old railing behind in the gangway, when they had promised to remove them from the site. I called, and they quickly came by, to take the railings away.

Mike and crew worked very hard and did a great job. I didn't get any other bids and I haven't had similar work done before so I'm not sure about the price, but it didn't seem high to me. Recommended.

Did receive a couple of phone calls, but ultimately, Mazi gave my phone number to a manufacturing company to do the work. Very confusing, given that I was looking for custom wood shelving, and also annoyed that he would pass out our phone number to someone without asking first.

Mike at MAZI was terrific. He was responsive, professional, and worked hard to get the shelves installed within our time frame. What impressed us the most were his great design ideas. We have a home built in the late 1800's in which the library has original wood details, but faces out to a contemporary kitchen. Mike was able to design bookshelves that married these two styles beautifully. Not a week goes by when someone doesn't compliment us on our bookshelves.

Mike and his team were fantastic. The design, ideas and workmanship are all excellent and worth the price. Mike is very thoughtful and creative about finding solutions to problems; he and his crew are a pleasure to deal with and I had absolutely no hesitation giving them my key and leaving them in my house for days on end. My dog loved them too and hung out with them when they worked in the yard - they were very responsible about taking care of him and making sure he was put in the house when they left. They work slowly but it's absolutely worth the wait.
