The Selling: Marna advised us as we got ready to put our condo on the market, helping us to price it correctly using relevant comps and suggesting ways to get our place in open-house ready condition. We miraculously got away without buying anything new (I've had friends whose realtors suggested they rent furniture, buy new decorative details, etc.), and following Marna's suggestions about simplifying and organizing did the trick. Marna was relentless about doing open houses - sometimes two a weekend and she gave us detailed feedback after each showing. She also diligently followed-up with people who came through the open house. We sold our condo in just over 3 months (including the holidays) and we got an offer that was within the range of what we hoped to get. The Buying: Marna is a long-time Bucktown resident and she knows the neighborhood like the back of her hand. She was able to help us sort through the 25+ homes in our price range in the neighborhood and figure out which ones were the right fit. She was not afraid to go in and try to negotiate on places that were slightly above our price range but could work if the seller was motivated. We ultimately were able to buy the #1 house on our list at a price we could afford thanks to Marna's persistent negotiating skills. We got the house for 89% of the asking price, well below what the sellers said they were originally willing to accept. We owe a lot of that to Marna for not pushing us to buy a house that would have been easier to negotiate. All in all, we couldn't have been more pleased and can recommend Marna very highly.
