They do a good job. They show up on time. I don't have to be home for them to come out to do the work. I will continue to use them for future service.

Good. Very professional. Talked over options, showed me photographs, and created an estimate on the spot. We ultimately chose another landscaper.

I requested that 1 foot of the yard next to neighbor's fence be left as a flower bed. I noted that there was a Korean lilac that I did not want damaged, in the back corner of the yard along the neighbor's fence. I didn't explain at the time, but it had been a gift from a close friend when my second son was stillborn. There seemed to be some language issues, but I was convinced that he understood. I was quoted $1090 for the job. I had a very short time line, the number was in my budget, so I agreed to have him do the job. I noted that I *did not* want his crew to arrive early on Monday because I would not be around until the afternoon due to work commitments. As it turned out, my wife was sick so I had to cover in other ways and so I was home. Doro called at 8am saying his crew would be there in 20 minutes, despite the previous discussion of not arriving early. He had forgotten that the area was to go all the way to the garage, but we were able to clarify that. After the excavation was done and the pea gravel was in, and the area to be sodded had been tilled, Doro said to call when the play structure was in and he'd come back to do the sod. This was so the grass wasn't damaged by the installation, a very good idea. At this point, the lilac was still where it was, and I assumed that meant that they had understood that it wasn't to be touched. They had unexpectedly tilled the rest of the foot next to the fence, turning under a few Lillie's that I had intended to keep, but those were not a big deal. The play structure was installed on Friday as scheduled, and Doro called me later that day to ask if they could come over Saturday morning to finish the sod. When he came out Saturday morning, we wanted to settle up, and the total was now $1300 rather than the $1090 I had originally thought I agreed to. However, there was no contract on paper, this was still within the realm of reasonable when I reviewed the figures, so I said nothing and paid anyway. Also, knowing I had other things to do later in the day, I went ahead and paid in full before the job was done, another "no no". The crew re-tilled the yard. They asked one time to confirm that I wanted one foot next to the fence. It is notable that they did not ask about any particular plants, just the distance, and I confirmed 1 foot, not two. At one point I noticed them sodding an area that had been left empty for a sandbox, and went out and asked them not to put grass there as it would die anyway, and they agreed. When the job was nearly done, I looked out back and saw that they had cut off the Korean Lilac. I had a fit, quite honestly. I tried to call Doro, but only got his voice mail. Not wanting to wait until 9pm for a call back, I demanded they call him now, and he called shortly after. His response was to tell me not to yell at his guys, and that he was a landscaper and he had lots of plants. He did say that he would make it right, but I have not heard from him in three days since.

The work was completed in two stages: gravel then planting. I was extremely pleased with the quality and value of both phases. Spreading the gravel was not easy work (under a deck and in-between two row houses, too narrow for wheel barrel). Mancera's crew did not skimp on the gravel, laying down a thick layer all around. The sodding and mulching all went very well. The soil was grated aways from the foundation and the sod and plants were of high quality. Given the labor and cost of the materials, I feel as though I got a terrific value.

Wow! He had the work done in under a week. He came back the next day to wrap up a few small details. These guys put a lot of work in a short time and did an excellent job. We are very please with the work and highly recommend using these Mancera again. Doro did provide us with labor for our project he provided us with a solution to problem, an Excellent guy to work with.

They were very responsive and got to and finished the job quickly. They were very kind as well. When I had some follow up questions about the sod, they got back to me quickly and even came by to put down some weed killer at no charge. Their price was a little high but the work was quality.

Then things started to go downhill. He didn't show up the next week and didn't respond to my phone calls. I caught him at the office midweek and he apologized, saying there had been an emergency. I told him I really wanted to get started with the work, but I needed him to come when scheduled. He promised to come the following weekend, saying he'd already spent a lot of time on the plans. And once again, he was a no-show. He didn't respond to my phone calls once again. I'm so frustrated because summer is underway and I am having difficulty finding a landscaper willing to fit us in.

I found Doro Mancera through Angie's List. He returned all my calls quickly; was professional, helpful, and friendly. When he couldn't begin work when expected due to bad weather, he called early in the morning to let me know, and quickly re-scheduled. His work was absolutely beautiful, crisp, professional, and with an attention to detail I really wasn't expecting. I would hire him again in a heartbeat. Thanks, Angie's List!

Doro was great. I was unsure of what I wanted to do as we were selling our house and needed great curb appeal. I went with his suggestions and it turned out fantastic. He and his crew worked fast and were on schedule. I would use him again anytime.

Disappointing. Contacted Doro one week in advance to inquire if he was interested in installing new landscaping. One week later called to schedule appointment and he did not make the appointment nor did he call to cancel.

When I initially hired Doro Mancera five years ago it was because his quote was well below the competition. I have used him every year since for all of my yard work, from mowing to larger landscaping projects. He is very nice, professional, and trustworthy.
