The process went very well. Roger turned up when he said he would, was very forthright about when work could begin, re-did the plan until I was comfortable with it. His crew did a great job, and he was there to personally supervise them. I would highly recommend this company to others.

Roger and his team did an outstanding job. From the very beginning Roger helped us plan exactly what we were looking to accomplish. We revised some along the way and he was very accommodating to making sure that we were satisfied. His attention to detail is impeccable. He was on the job everyday to make sure everything was going accordingly and his team was very courteous and cleaned up at the end of everyday. I highly recommend Roger and his company. We are extremely happy with the finished patio. I interviewed a few other companies but chose Roger because he was regarded in his field as being very detailed and produced quality results. It was worth every dollar invested.

We really liked working with Roger. We weren t really sure what we were looking for in a new path and he helped us through the design process. He was on time for all appointments, clearly explained all of the stone and design options available to us, and completed the work on schedule and budget. Best of all, we love the end result; we have a beautiful new path that really complements our yard and house.

Roger and his team were excellent to work with. Very helpful in recommending styles/colors. Personally delivered samples to us, which turned out to be extremely helpful. Very punctual -- arrived exactly when scheduled for all meetings/workdays. Also, finished the job exactly when scheduled to complete it. Quality of the work is excellent.

Everything went exactly as planned, and the patio has become our favorite room in the house.

We met with Roger to discuss our thoughts on new backyard, he had several good ideas about installing a useful patio, while retaining some grass for our dogs - so we didn't just have a big slab of cement. He was quick to come up with an estimate, and then subsequently we changed our minds a few times, expanding the project for a bigger patio with no lawn, and he was again very quick with thoughts and estimate. We also decided to have the side yard done with large slabs of blue stone after seeing how nice it looked. Roger completed side yard with dark cedar mulch.

Roger and his crew did an AMAZING job. We weren't 100 percent sure what we wanted to do to replace the concrete path, so Roger gave us some ideas on directions we could go. He also designed a curved pathway (that addressed some unevenness in our yard) that looks gorgeous. His crew completed the job in only a few days. They were always friendly and cleaned up after themselves each day. Once the path was completed, I noticed a few stones were loose and contacted Roger. He sent his crew out immediately to repair the loose stones and came back again in a few weeks to make sure the repairs were satisfactory. I cannot recommend this company high enough. Roger and his crew were a pleasure to work with!

Roger had been very prompt to all my calls and requests. He came several times to estimate and discuss the project, and brought stone samples with him. He also had great ideas and input on how to design the patio, and where to leave room for flower beds. Roger and his team finished the work in about one week, which involved building a retaining wall (water proof) around basement entrance, removed old flagstone, dirt and debris from backyard (excavated about 7"). They then installed a beautiful blue marble patio, and build a gravel draining base for the downspout. My backyard looks amazing! It was a great pleasure to work with Roger & his team.

Roger was great to work with from start to finish. He started by suggesting some less expensive options for paving our patio. After finding out that I was interested in brick, he made other suggestions. Once I narrowed it down to antique brick, Roger let me know when interesting stuff was available to check out. I have wanted to lay brick myself for some time and when I told Roger that I would like to "help" he was very welcoming. He showed up with his crew on the day planned. The crew was also great, both students studying related areas like engineering and architecture. They did the work in about 2.5 days. I did get to pitch in and now the job feels very much my own. Over the next couple weeks, Roger came by twice to put the joint stabilizer in and then later to put in some cement near the bluestone. I can recommend Roger enough. His original estimate was a bit higher than another quote I got, but I chose him anyway cause I thought he would do a better job. I'm glad I did.

Wonderful! Roger was great to work with. His team is very nice and professional. We had to wait for him to start while he finished up some other projects -- but that just means he is in demand because he's good!

The result is excellent. Mr. Essex gave us an estimate of both time and money which was accurate, kept us informed when there was a delay (a rainy period and delay in getting a dumpster permit) and completed the work crisply. He also contacted us when the dirt from the old planters wasn't worth keeping, offering to purchase the needed soil and put it in the planters. We had him do this. His people cleaned up thoroughly after they were done and hauled away all debris. We'd recommend him unconditionally.

They were excellent in every respect. They were extremely courteous, punctual and the work they performed is outstanding.

Roger Essex was a delight to work with and did an excellent job. He brought stone samples, emailed proposals quickly, came up with ideas for special situations (the flower bed), found grates to use to for the sewer and water valves, and added marbles squares to the corners for me and made sure the diagonal measurements were the same on both sides. Roger and his crew were all very accommodating and worked efficiently to completed the job before it snowed again! I intend to use them again to put in a front courtyard after we complete some work on the front of our house.

We were delighted with Roger from the beginning. He was always very professional and prompt. Roger was willing to work with us (but he was not pushy), and had many useful suggestions. Roger was excellent to work with from beginning to end. When we first got the estimate, Roger came to the house with a wealth of information, recommended several alternatives to us, and had a book of "before and after" pictures so that we could get a good idea of what we wanted to have done and what it would look like when finished. During the job itself, he and his crew arrived when they said they would and did each step as they said they would. When rain delayed some of the finishing steps, he kept us apprised of when they could continue. The area was also kept very neat during the work process. The finished area looks great and despite the rain delays, was finished before Thanksgiving, as promised. We are thrilled with Roger and the work of London Stoneworks and would recommend them to anyone and/or use them again ourselves.

Roger and his crew showed up exactly at 8am (as promised), explained to me exactly what they were going to do and go to work. After excavating the area to be filled with gravel (the first, base layer), they discovered there was already a base layer there from a previous pad. It had just been buried under years of dirt. This sped the work considerably and they were done by 2pm. Roger said that because he had to use less material then expected (because of the existing base layer) and because of the time savings he would adjust his original estimate accordingly. Roger and his crew are terrific: gentlemen all around with a work ethic you don't see very often anymore. I'd definitely use them again.

Excellent work. Would highly recommend. Work done personally by Roger and his team (not farmed out to a crew), so it is top notch. Excellent quality workmanship. A pleasure to work with. I would recommend them to my friends.

Roger always responds promptly to calls for work and participates in idea generation/design. He is busy and the weather is always an issue in his business but he got to us as soon as he could on his schedule. He and his crew did a great job and even took out the existing path and integrated all the stones so there wasn't an obvious line. It looks great and we are very happy with our new backyard.

Roger certainly lived up to all the reviews I had read on Angie's List. He came to our house many times to look at our yard, to bring sample stones, and to discuss the design of our patio. He was very patient with our somewhat prolonged decision making. He showed this patience and his attention to detail even before we selected his company for the job. Roger really took the time to listen to what we had in mind for our patio and then worked with us while making recommendations based on his experience. He then did the work himself with his crew. The end result is a well constructed and beautiful patio. We give London Stoneworks our highest recommendation.

He has a great vision of how things could look and which options may be appropriate. One of the best things about working with Roger is that he has the professionalism and patience to change course midstream and consider tweaking the original design with suggestions(when asked)about how to make it even better, without getting bent out of shape over changing the initial plan. One of his suggestions midway through the process was relatively inexpensive and made a big difference in the attractiveness of my new patios.
