+ -1 moreI was so happy with the work that I recommended Lindholm Roofing to my neighbors, family and friends. I have given Lindholm at least 5 more referrals since my work was done. I am looking at replacing my gutters soon and Lindholm will definitely be my first and ONLY call!
Description of Work: Lindholm Roofing came out and gave me an estimate for a new roof. I had several bids and I ended up choosing Lindholm because they spent the most quality time discussing the quote with me. I am an older woman living in my house on my own and wasn't sure what needed to be done. The salesmen was patient and always available whenever I called. They put a section of the roof on and I haven't had any problems since.

Description of Work: We signed a contract with a salesman from Lindholm who estimated the job at 11,000. I should have went with my first instinct which was to not use this company. The salesman did not have any roofing samples and when I asked for different colors he stated that he has to buy a whole bale of roof shingles in order to get different color samples. I knew this was not true becasue we have had various roofs put on homes previously. I subsequently went to the roofing supply company and picked up the roofing color sample boards myself and gave them to the salesman for his next cutomers. The actual roofers began work approimatelly 4 weeks after we signed the contract for 11,000. Two days into the job the work stopped and the lead roofer stated that he does not have enough shingles or underlayment to complete the job. He stated the salesman did not order enough supplies. The workers then left. Later that day, the salesman came out to our house and stated that he understimated the job by 3,000. dollars, and that this will have to come out of his pocket and we need to help him out We indicated that we had other estimates and that we went with Lindholm roofing becasue of the estimate provided and we have a signed contract for the 11,000 estimated amount. The next day Lindholm sent out two more men who did nothing but harass us to pay them the additional money. They even asked for the number to our insurance companyso that they can talk to them about the additional money. Our insurance company stated that this is a common scam with roofers to say they underestimated the job once work has begun. We refused to pay the additional amount. Finally,a few days after the visit by the two men the owner of Lindholm roofing called and said the crew will be back the next week and that when they finish the work he wants a check in full for the remaining amount we owe and that he will wait in his truck for the payment. We subsequently paid Lindholm the agreed upon amount in the contaract. I would not recoomend Lindholm roofing. The copper flashing which we paid for on a seperate contract was of very poor quality. I believe the roofers have never installed copper flashing previosly. There are dents and fingerprints on the copper which shows along the base of the fireplace. The overhang of the roof shingle exceeds the gutter so we have a constant drip beyond the gutter. Many nail holes throughout the flashing installed alog the trim and very sloppy work. The Lindholm salesman told us that a warranty would be mailed once the job is dones. As of today, March 2013 we have not received any warranty.

+ 0 moreThey had a crew that didnt speak any english and the shingles were to last 25 years but the shingles are deterirating already, and they dont keep good records, because they dont know what company they used to provide the shingles. And The wood is rotting away because they didn't do it properly. I also have to get my siding replaced as well because of the poor quality of work.

+ -1 moreThe project manager came out promptly to look over the chimney and offer his opinion. There was some confusion with the office: I had asked that I be contacted at my work number. My home was called which generated unnecessary confusion and miscommunication. Though I did not care for the attitude of the woman who answered the phone; I appreciated the project manager coming out conducting a visual inspection from the ground. I wish that I had been there to ask him questions; but I appreciated that his quote arrived very promptly in the mail. I have not made a decision, but I feel that they are a good company.
Description of Work: I asked them to look at my chimney to see what could be done - I think I might have a leak.

+ -1 moreRealizing that this review is VERY out of date, I just want to share the atrociaous experience I had with Lindholm. As a first time homeowner I tried to follow all the best proctices. I for 5 quotes, researched the BBS and professional association memberships and selected Lindholm due to a very nice visit with one of the owners during the quote process , professional association participation and the exact middle quote. As a long-time neighborhood family owned and operated business I had high expectations of professionalism and performance. That and I HAD to get a new roof on my newly purchased home or face the ire of a drive-by insurance inspector. The crew lead rang the doorbell to ask if they could come through the house to climb out on the roof through the attic becaus they didn't have a ladder. (I said no). He then asked which chimney I wanted knocked down (there was only one). I should have sent them packing, but was under the gun from the Insurance and didn't want to start over.The job took 5 days. My neighbors have all had new roof in 2-3 days. Substantialy more new wood was required than estimated and the inside of my roof which had no nails through it from the first 75 years of roofs is now fil of 1 inch spikes. I suspect the excess wood was due to poor use of the power nail gun. One standpipe was not flashed which I discovered after the first rrain when the paint bubled on my interior wall. 3 days into the job the Lindholm office called up asking for the final payment, which i refused until completion. That was the ONLY communication or oversight of the crew. I could go on with mor examples of incompetance, but the thing which I found most telling was the lack of response , attention or concern from Lindholm. This speaks to a systemic problem not just a new crew. I see ther company has a great rating, and just want to warn others, it might not work out so well for you.

There was a small hole in the roof, which is on the 4th story of the building; we had estimates ranging all over the place including some contractors telling us the entire roof must be demolished and replaced completely, even the joists. Lindholm was more conservative and also explained completely why this problem did NOT require such extensive measures. And they also reassured us that other areas of the roof were in excellent condition, and did not try to see anything we did not actually need. They were very detailed in the explanations, showed up as scheduled, and completed the job in one day as promised. One of the owners of the company came out on the initial visit to do the estimate,and they followed up with us to make sure we were happy with the job.
Description of Work: Repairs and restoration of a roof with clay tiles. The roof is on a 100 year old building and some tiles had cracked and required replacement; some areas needed patching and other forms of repair.

+ 2 moreOverall though they did what I needed done. Overall, they did an excellent job on the roof. I just did not like what happened to my tree and my globe and the lack of supervision. And I don't understand why the trimming out of my roof was not included in the estimate. Isn't the fashia (sp) I guess I spelled it right, is included in the roofing price. Why not?
Description of Work: Based on reviews that I read at this site I called Lindholm. First, he did not come out to meet me, he came by and view the house and sent me an estimate in the mail. It seemed fair based upon on the work that was needed. My house is over 100 years old and required a complete tear down. Second, when the crew showed up none of them spoke english, which would not have been a problem if they would have tore down the roof properly but they damaged an evergreen tree that was a perfect ball and broke the glass globe in front of my house (which they have not replaced) and left debrie in my yard. They did not replace the rotted wood, the trim, I guess that is what it is called, that frame the roof, they did not until we called and complained about it, then they came back out and completed the job. There was no supervisor on site. The men came and did a very good job on the roof but all the above tainted by view of the company. The work men who came out and trimmed it out and put on a new gutter and repaired and capped the chimney did an excellent job. Would I use them again knowing what I know, I don't think so. I would want them to send out the crews that they send to the other sites, that do an excellent job. I just think I got the left over crew.

I have had them at our house twice.....first, for the roof replacement, then an unrelated issue. Linholm sent out a crew and a foreman immediately to inspect and repair the problem. I have referred many friends and neighbors to Lindhom Roofing and everyone has been so happy with their service, product and professionalism.
Description of Work: Lindhlom installed an entire roof, new chimney and new roof vents. Also, ice shield to prevent ice damming.

+ 0 moreI appreciated the fact that I didn't have to be home for the work to be completed. They scheduled it, were on time, and completed all of the work as indicated. Instead of just replace the one strip of missing facia, they replace the whole section (around a pop out window) which looked a lot better. The roof looks better than it did when we purchased the house 4 years ago.
Description of Work: During a previous storm some of the facia ripped off of our roof, we had some missing shingles, and we had a small leak in our attic. They were able to assess that the small leak came from the chimney not being properly sealed. We asked them for an assessment to replace the entire roof and to just fix the minor issues. The cost of replacing the entire roof was very reasonable but since we are hoping to sell our house soon, we chose the less expensive option.

+ 1 moreMy experience with Lindholm roofing was great. My project manager Michael stayed in contact with me thru the entire project. My roofers were the best. They cleaned up afterwards and I didn’t see a nail on the ground anywhere. The siding installers were fare less as good. However again I will say Michael was there to address all my concerns and didn’t leave until they were corrected. Overall I would recommend Lindholm to anyone who is looking for a contractor that cares about their customers. At the end of the project work one of the owners Ryan called me to check that I was completely satisfied with the work that was performed before sending me the bill. A+

They stressed that their primary goal was that I would be a satisfied customer, and their service and follow-up proved that to be true. I own other properties, and I am planning on using them again.
Description of Work: Replaced slate roof, and gutters. In the future, I would ensure the gutter color I select is in stock prior to any roofer beginning work, otherwise your house may be temporarily left without gutters.

+ 0 moreWe had a great experience with Lindholm roofing. We had three layers of rolled roofing with severe hail damage which meant we'd be replacing the entire roof. They came and estimated the damage and gave a detailed explanation about each line item. We ended up replacing gutters as well. The folks that showed up to put on the roof were friendly, neat and quick and were obviously good at their jobs. The roof looks great! The entire experience was pleasant and I would absolutely recommend them.

+ 1 moreI got 3 quotes from different roofers to rip off and install a new roof and new gutters on my house and detached garage. I decided to use Lindholm based on the knowledge, professionalism, and friendliness of the estimator\sales rep. First impression and a gut feeling helped me make my decision. Their cost for the roof was a little higher than the others, but the gutters were in the middle. I also preferred the make and type of shingle they use over the others. I was also having them install gutter guards and liked what Lindholm used the best....it wasn't the wire mesh product that doesn't work for where I live due to the types of trees in my area. When I called my estimator\sales rep and told him they had my job, he said I'd hear from them in about 7-10 days to schedule the work. This was right on, they called on the following Tuesday and came out on Wednesday and had both roofs completely done in one day, including new vents and flashing. Clean up was exceptionally good! 2 days later they came and installed the gutters, downspouts and gutter guards. I had only one issue that I questioned, the roofers put in the gutter guards in the old gutters. When I called my sales rep he questioned it too. He took care of the issue immediately as the guards were installed in the new gutters they installed. I think it may have been a slight communication error. I had them remove a downspout from the end of the house by the garage, as all it did was pour the water out onto the driveway. During the winter all this does is cause an ice slick and can be a slippery fall for anyone not expecting it. They did as I asked, and now there is only one downspout at the other end of the house where it won't cause any problems. It looks sloped properly, however we haven't had any rain since it's been installed. The roof and gutters look great and I am very pleased with their work.
Description of Work: Roof: rip off and install new roof on both house and detached garage. Install new gutters, downspouts and gutter guards on both house and garage.

When the guys came to do the actual repairs, they were quick, efficient, clean, and friendly. I was dreading this job but honestly, dealing with Lindholm Roofing was a real pleasure. I would definitely recommend them and plan to use them in the future for all my roofing and gutter needs.
