After being told by the big yellow pages ad appliance repair companies that recommended either throwing away our 2 compartment 1948, vintage GE refrigerator or it costing several hundreds of dollars to repair, we made a list ditch effort and called a small yellow page listing--Left Hand Appliance Repair in Chicago. They service all types of appliances. The owner, Phil, being a vintage appliance enthusiast was a life saver for us to get our refrigerator working. He suggested a way to fix the refrigerator and an hour later he had it up and running, all at a very reasonable price ($120 versus $600+). He even followed up with a call the next day to ensure the refrigerator was up and running without issue. We would recommend Phil's service for vintage appliance repair needs and will definitely use him for all of our vintage appliances.
