Kemora Landscapes

Marisa was professional and very knowledgeable. She listened to my ideas, and then drew up a great plan for my patio space. She made very usefull suggestions about plant selection, spacing of the plants, and even where to purchase the plants. I may choose to have her company do the installation once I finalize the plant selection.

They gave an estimate and scheduled the work. I took off work to be here and they didn't show up. I called and they told me they had rescheduled because of the rain. They insisted that they had contacted me, which they hadn't. They didn't apologize but gave me the reschedule date. When they came on the second date, one workmen didn't speak any English, the other didn't speak enough to communicate well. They got across to me that they could not do the job. We had a lengthy conversation because they had already looked at the job and given me a bid. He said he would call his boss. I had to go to work, but my husband was home. When I came home the job was complete and it was beautifully done. I wouldn't use them again because of the first cancelation with no communication. Also because of the frustration with the second attempt and the fact that nobody contacted me to let me know what was going on.

Our back yard was a complete mess....weeds, overgrowth of so-called 'native wildflowers', overgrown plants, etc. Neither of us understand or enjoying gardening, but the yard was at a crisis stage and needed complete renovation. After comparing a few landscapers, we contacted Kemora. Their rep, Marisa, came out and thoroughly analyzed the situation, and discussed a plan for simplifying the yard layout, while being able to reuse some of the plants we currently had, adding a few more, and putting down sod. We considered the quoted price to be very reasonable, to clean up the mess and renovate the yard. The only problem we encountered was a delay due to weather, which is to be expected. When Kemora came out on September 22, the work proceeded in a very efficient manner. The crew was very hard-working and well-organized, and Marisa stopped in on several occasions to make sure everything went smoothly. Our compliments to Kemora....they did a wonderful job!

Terrible! I know they are very busy and they took a long time to come here. A lady came over and she said that she would do a simple landscaping plan in a drawing and put in plants whatever is required and will get you the plan in two weeks. We asked her 2 things. One is a simple plan and put in the plants and name them and also an idea on the cost to put it all in. I waited for 3 weeks and sent her a reminder and then waited for 4 weeks and then sent her a reminder again saying Angie's list is asking if I would recommend you and what do you think I would be answering. She didn’t even send back a response. She did send a plan back and it looked all like the original. She would have done the sketching in 10 minutes and she never gave any other information as to how much it would cost. The person who is working on the plants in my building said that the plan was a trash.

When they came out, they were very pleasant and nice. They were initially very responsive. Their bid seemed expensive without a real representation, a physical design plan, of what it would look like in the end. They just gave us numbers. They made a proposal, but never followed up with us. I wanted to work with them. I tried calling them over several months to look into going through with their ideas, but they were unresponsive. They were too busy I guess. I do hope to get in touch with them in the future to see if they can work with me on the design and price.

Plan was fine, delivered what was expected but they were really busy and one of the main employees was out ill which delayed getting plans and a quote. Due to the delays I wound up using another contractor to do the actual landscaping project.

I reviewed on Angies List and found Kemora Landscaping. Catchy name and sounded very green and environmentally friendly. I spoke with and have been dealing with Marisa Gora (co-owner?). We had an initial appointment which she cancelled the day of. We rescheduled to another day. I had a big job required, remove my old deck/patio and convert the area to grass, expand my bluestone patio out in the opposite direction and add a fire pit and seating area, and all the associated landscaping and foliage. She came out and was very pleasant and knowledgable. I was very comfortable with her and her ability at the time. She stated that she would run an estimate after all the measurements she took and look into the labor and materials that would be required. She said I should get it in a week or so. This where things fell apart. I sent her a plat the next day. She responded a week later thanking me. I had to email her 3 weeks later reminding her. She responded back 4 days later stating she was out the week before on vacation with limited email access, but promised she would get me an estimate by the end of the week. I emailed her back 2 weeks later asking her again. At this point she responded and apologized. She sent out estimates a few days later. I like to be prepared, I started my search for a landscaping company in May. I met with her in the first week of June and did not get this estimate back until the last week in July. The summer and ability to actually enjoy this had basically passed by the time we could actually get it scheduled and done. You would think for a job that they are quoting at $23,000 they would be jumping over backwards to get it scheduled. I guess it maybe too big a job for them or they are just too busy. Reviews seem to be good, but I guess you should always believe what you see on the internet/Angies List.

I was very satisfied with their service. I plan to hire them again to do maintenance on the area.

They were fine! I wanted a radical change, but it was a little bit out of my price range so I didn't end going with them. I wouldn't consider it in the future because we went in another direction.

It was a beautiful arrangement! Marisa has been great! I am waiting on Marisa to call me back though because some of the plants haven't been doing so well, but other than that everything is fine.

They came when I was at work,and did the work mentioned above. I was impress with their work.

I have nothing to tell you yet - we are not there yet... sometimes things take a while - like right now - the owner of Kemora is on vacation so she is unable to finish the pricing. All I can say is so far - so good!

While they were professional, they let me know right away that they didn't service my area and the Big Deal was refunded.

Kemora did an excellent job! Not only were they courteous and professional, but they also worked with us in rescheduling several times due to a lack of professionalism by Monica Nechita Deigns (Monica Nechita was contracted to paint/stain our front and back decks).

We used Marissa's plan as a jumping off point to consider all possibilities. Although we did decide to cut some large tree roots to enlarge the planting area, we basically used her idea to create a much more attractive and sustainable front yard. Marissa had been very helpful in suggesting appropriate plants for the amount of light and space with a nice balance of bushes, plants and vines. Although we used a gardener already employed by our association since we felt some loyalty toward that person, Marissa's ideas were the spark that improved the front area - and for which she declined further payment. She was a very comfortable and easy person to work with.

Did not deliver promised product. Complete waste of money

Bought the Angie's List deal for a yard design. Marisa was very easy to work with and gave us a great idea to move the path that we really hadn't though of. This opened up the yard and created a bigger play area for our son. She was receptive to our input and even let us tweak the design in a few places to better meet our needs. We signed the contract to have them do the hardscaping but held off on the various plants due to our budget. The team was timely and professional. I thought they kept the work site safe and fairly clean, picking up after themselves at the end of each work day. I think it took four days in all. Marisa was onsite a couple times and worked with me to make sure I was happy with where the path would go. We also made a running change to part of the design and used some blue step stones instead of brick in one area. I was later able to work with the business office to adjust the invoice accordingly since materials changed. Marisa and team also did a nice job coordinating with Topline fence, who was installing some wrought iron during the project and also did a great job. Not sure how much this kind of work should cost, but it wasn't cheap. However, we are very happy.

She came out on time and said she would get back to me with an estimate. I have called and emailed the office a number of times since she came out 6 months ago. One time the office actually answered the phone and the person at the office said that someone would contact me and that didn't happen. To be clear, I did not purchase a Big Deal or pay them any money.

We called to get an estimate to get our grass in the front and back of our house reproved and to have sod laid down. We called around the end of April, and got an estimate of $975 within a few days, and booked an installation date of May 27. Dates were starting to fill up, so that was the earliest we could get, which was ok. They came on the exact date, which was a pleasant surprise considering all the rain we had, and completed the job to our satisfaction. Everything was cleaned up and all excess debris was removed. The overall price was a little high, but it was a small job, and we're glad to get it done. The quality of the sod was also very good, and a month later, it looks great.

Update: It took three months and repeated emails, but Kemora did deliver on the landscape plan. I must give credit to them for coming up with a very nice plan that really took into account what said I was looking for. Not sure how she did it, but the plan really captured what was in my head that I doubt I articulated well. I still give an overall grade of C because it just took too darned long.

It went really well. It didn't take as long as I thought it would. My questions were answered and I was given some good insight as to what to plant, etc.

The service turned out well. I am planning to do a larger project with them. I did discuss the length of time to schedule the appointment as I had seen other comments about that. I did not have trouble scheduling with them and they were able to send the plans within the two weeks that they said. I called and they were able to get it to me after that. She showed up on time for the appointment and she spent a good half an hour to 45 minutes going over what was needed. Even though the price is about $1,500.00 more than a separate quote from a different company, I chose to go with them due to her and the work she does. I have not had the experience of them not getting back to me in a timely manner. I want her to come back one more time to finalize the details for the work.

I have used them for lawn service, grass cutting, and other yard clean up. They did a good job.

We just finished building our home and wanted to complete the landscaping. Marisa visited our home to give us an estimate of cost and start date on March 19, 2014. Ten days later, I had heard nothing from her (customers are warned not to expect an estimate or design for at least 2 weeks) but I had sent her some pictures from Houzz and I was hoping I would at least get some feedback. On March 29th I emailed her to get an update as I had heard nothing at all. On March 31 Marisa finally responded to say that she would be looking through my Houzz pictures and working on my plans. Two weeks later I received an email from her office asking whether I was still interested in continuing with Kemora. I read the reviews on Angie's List and decided to call Kemora however I was very disappointed in their treatment and lack of interest in my project. It's almost as if they have bigger fish to fry and can't be bothered with "smaller", less lucrative projects. If my project was not what they wanted to work on, I would have appreciated it if they would have let me know from the get-go instead of wasting my time.

It took them a while to get back to us. They responded quickly, but when it came to turning around the quote it took three times as long as we thought it would take.
