Kemora Landscapes

The day before our meeting, it snowed a few inches. Marisa called to see if we wanted to reschedule to a day where there was no snow. That was not necessary, but good thinking. Marisa was right on time and we got right down to business. The first thing I told her was that we were considering moving. She advised on the basis of curb appeal and bang-for-buck as opposed to a more individualized approach. She gave me several DYI tips on lawn and tree maintenance. She then made suggestions and drew a sketch. This was first done in the front yard and then repeated in the back. All of this was done without any solicitation for future services or installation of the project. She gave me price ranges what I could expect at a nursery. I did tell her that some of the suggestions I could do myself but that a lot of it would require professional installation. She gave me a rough range that would vary based on the live materials that we chose (of course) and that she would get me a line-item estimate. I guess my only knock on the overall service would be that she hasn't gotten back to me with the itemized list like she said she would, based on the sketch that she drew. It would shock me if she didn't respond apologetically and get it to me expeditiously. I will update if that is not the case. Overall, very pleased with the way she looked at landscaping and her understanding of the type of appointment it was, rather than a big sales pitch on her services. If anything, she probably should have said, "If you don't feel confident to do it yourself, we can provide an estimate for the items you would like to have done professionally."

We bought a special offer through the List. The day after we bought the offer Kemora contacted us to set up the appointment. During the conversation the representative informed me that they would be checking in with us before the appointment as a reminder and to finalize any work to be done. I was sent an e-mail confirmation after the phone conversation. It was during the e-mail exchange that I asked and added gutter cleaning to the appointment at no extra cost. The work was scheduled for November 29th, 2012 at 2pm. It was a pleasant surprise at 11am when the crew showed up. They were not prepared to clean the gutters. After a short consultation, they raked and hauled the leaves, trimmed the plants and bushes, cleaned the flower beds, and hauled away other debris from a storm in about an hour and a half. Overall, the did a great job. I e-mailed the office about the gutter cleaning, including the e-mail that requested and approved the gutter cleaning. I received a reply with an apology stating, "I was not aware that you wanted the gutters cleaned." The gutter cleaning was rescheduled for the next week. The crew came while I was gone, and again, did a great job (honestly, I had forgotten that we scheduled the gutter cleaning and only remembered when I looked out the window and saw that the roof and gutters of our extension was clean. They did THAT good job cleaning up.) All in all, other than the minor annoyance of the gutters, which to their credit was handled quickly and professionally, we are happy with Kemora. I especially like the fact that not only is the work documented, but also they are reachable via e-mail. In the past with other landscaping services all the work agreements were verbal, making issues harder to resolve. We look forward to hiring Kemora for clean up and lawn care in 2013.

Kemora contacted me right away upon my purchase of the deal to schedule a time for service, and were accommodating with the date I requested. They showed up on time, did a great job, and left nary a trace that they were ever there. We will use them again, and I highly recommend them.

Overall it went very well. Kemora was very flexible with the planning and the planting. The majority of the job was completed in one day; they returned a second day to finish. I got the feeling that they really wanted me to be happy with the end job and I was!

Marisa was punctual, personable and extremely professional throughout our consultation! She came to our home on an incredibly hot day, but took ample time to discuss ideas regarding several garden beds. Her suggestions were fabulous and it's obvious that she's extremely knowledgeable about appropriate locations for various plants and shrubs. Her expertise was evident and she made a great impression in terms of really knowing her business. Marisa left us with a lovely sketch of possible changes to a large area surrounding our backyard pond. Her suggestions were beautiful and we hope to have her company perform the work when we're ready to begin the project in the future. The money spent on our Big Deal offer was worth every penny. We had trouble connecting - kept missing each others calls and had one appt time with a miscommunication. Overall - Kemora Landscape was very nice - and the ideas given for landscaping were excellent and designed to fit within our budget. Very creative and unique ideas to fit our space.

The crew from Kemora was able to schedule our job on short notice and completed everything to our satisfaction. They arrived early and had actually completed the entire job prior to the scheduled appointment time, so they kindly stayed on-site until we arrived home to inspect the job. They then did some additional work that I requested. We'll have no hesitation in hiring Kemora again for future landscaping needs. They are very responsive and accommodating. A neighborhood business too!

The paving of the area went well. Although they went out to purchase some ground cover for me, they were unable to locate the plants that would match the ones I was looking for. They did a very nice job putting down the mulch, but put it in the wrong area to start with. When I let them know the next day and I agreed to pay for the additional mulch that had been put down in error, they put down the rest of the mulch.

I showed them what I wanted done and they did it.

Very good. After a couple failed attempts to schedule the appointment, everything fell into place once we connected in person. The rep was very friendly, accessible and professional. She quickly developed a very attractive plan that fit our small yard and priority goals very well. The Big Deal was well worth it even though we did not purchase the additional services. We are keeping the plan and estimates for future consideration.

The over all project was great. i can't think of any other thing else to listed. I was totally satisfied with their work and swiftness. The crew was pleasant and polite and answered all questions.

The 3 gentlemen from Kemora arrived on time. I explained to the team leader exactly what I wanted and walked around the gardens with him to show him where those areas were. He knew the kinds of plants which I was talking about, just by looking, even tough most of them had no leaves. He was very knowledgeable in his field. He never had to come back to me and ask what else had to be done -- he remembered everything from our first discussion. I went back into my house and left the men to perform their tasks. After 2 hours, the leader came to me and asked me to inspect their work, since they had completed everything they had done. As we walked around, I saw that they did everything I had asked for. And the work was done beautifully. Everything was clean and neat. I am greatly pleased with the entire experience. The company director(?), Ulises, called me before, during, and after the work was done to make sure that his crew was working and that it was done well. I assured him that the finished product was perfect, exactly what I wanted. I would hire Kemora again in a heartbeat!

I purchased an Angie's List deal for a fall clean up. I was immediately contacted by e-mail and arranged a date and a time for the scheduled work -- Thursday the 29th at 1 p.m. The morning of the appointment, I received an email letting me know that the crew would be at my place between 11 and 12. I responded to the email and left a voicemail, as I would not be home during those hours. About 9 a,m, the company called and I explained that I would not be home, but I was comfortable with the crew working on my yard. I explained that I had some bundles of pine boughs,and would appreciate if the crew could spread them over my two dirt patches in the front yard. While talking to the woman, she explained that the crew is given a route in the morning depending on the the locations. I would have been fine with a window of arrival, but I had been given a specific time. Also, maybe an email the day prior asking for my specifics regarding the work would have been good. I think the scheduling/initial set-up could have been better along with explaining that I didn't need to be home. The crew showed up at 9:30, and I was home, and I was able to explain about the pine boughs and request that they trim the bushes along my property fence. The crew did an excellent job of removing all the fall leaves, cleaning up the beds in my yard, trimming along the fence, and spreading out the pine boughs. Overall, I was very happy with job completed.

It went pretty well - I learned about the existing landscaping I had and wanted to get an idea of how to better manage what I did have. I also rec'd an idea if I were to spend money what type of budget I would need. I got ideas of plants and what would thrive in the space to achieve a landscape I could appreciate.I would definitely use them for future services. The layout provided was alright but thought I'd get something a little more professional but other than my expectations of it. The knowledge and information was good. Well done.

They were prompt, efficient and got a ton done. The only issue I had was that they cut my rosebushes down pretty drastically. I asked for them to be trimmed, but I did not specify what that meant to me, so I can't really fault them for that. My overgrown yard looked totally clean and orderly when they left. I wonder why I have never done this before and will certainly use them again!

I originally met with Marisa, Kemora's owner, in June to discuss a design for my back yard. I immediately loved working with Marisa! She is very knowledgable, articulate and extremely creative. I was pleased with her design and worked with her office staff to schedule the landscaping. Unfortunately, it was scheduled for the hottest days of the summer... I offered to reschedule but her crew was willing to move ahead. The crew arrived at the scheduled time and quickly got to work. They were hardworking, very considerate and they cleaned up at the end of each day. When Marisa stopped in each day, we reviewed the progress. If something was not quite right, she made sure that changes were made so that I was completely satisfied. Although I "could have lived with" small details, they were corrected to be perfect. I am very, very happy with the work completed. Our yard can now be used the way we dreamed it would be and it is a joy to look at everyday. Kemora also did a fall clean-up for us. The crews did a fantastic job; edges are clean, perennials cut back, shrubs and bushes trimmed, dead plants removed and best of all, no more leaves. Great job! I will definitely be giving them a call in the spring for more maintenance.

Very fun and exciting hour consultation. The rep really listened to my story and that gave a personal touch to the whole experience. She shared experiences in other gardens she had worked on, as well as a few personal anecdotes that rounded out the conversation. I got SO MUCH information and was impressed with how quickly she wrapped her imagination around my yard. I felt that she "got" the feeling I was going for in my garden immediately, and made suggestions accordingly. I really enjoyed the input and was inspired to think even more about what I wanted to accomplish in my back yard. While I did not pursue using the company's services, I really valued the information and sketch I received. The funds set aside for the garden were eaten up by vet bills... I am slowly implementing many of the suggestions , referring to the sketch as a guideline.

They did a great job, were fast, efficient and conscientious.

They were very quick and the results were lovely.

The pavers on our roof terrace were widely spaced, providing much room for weeds between them They were also delaminating and cracking. Kemora provided excellent service at every stage of the process, including recommendations for materials and design, and relocating the salvageable pavers to areas that were low-traffic and out of main sight. The work involved moving sand and gravel up and down the elevator in our condo building, and they managed this part of the process particularly well, coordinating elevator use at one point with furniture movers and other service people. As the work progressed, they suggested adding some planters to create a more finished look, a suggestion we liked. When complete, they also replanted a number of perennials and shrubs into the new containers, with great results. At one point, they realized they needed a bit more material than they had originally estimated, but they notified us immediately, apologizing for the relatively small miscalculation. They kept to the promised schedule, and performed the work with a high degree of professionalism. We are very pleased.
