They recommended that we completely exchange out our entire remote response units, which of course jumped to $650.00 USD. Unfortunately, we have a brand new remote unit that does not work to this date. We have had them come out to repair this on 2 separate occasions and one of our garage doors still does not work properly. Unfortunately, we are stuck with a half working garage that daily threatens the safety of our association grounds because we cannot get the electronic gate to close consistently.

Overall very happy with the level of service they provided on short notice when my garage door wouldn't open. They arrived ahead of the scheduled time and finished the work faster than they told me upfront. They also cleaned up nicely after the worked was completed.

The installer came out to look at my door and he said that my garage door was too large to install and they said that the $522.00 that I paid wouldn't be enough and that I would have to pay up to $1000.00 for the door to be installed and this is what the owner of K G Doors, Joshua said. I read the fine print of the Deal and it should have worked for me but they wouldn't do the job without more money.

They came exactly when they said and fixed the problem in 10 minutes. They also greased the rollers, checked everything else, and even gave me a new rope pull. Very professional, responsive, and quick.

I used a new iPhone app that is part of Angie's List. It was easy to use. The technician arrived at the time I requested through the app. The work was done well and efficiently. The only discrepancy in my experience is that the app was supposed to give me a quote before the work was performed, and then I was supposed to accept or decline the price. The work was done without me knowing the exact price. But I think this was due to the nature of the service, compounded by the use of this new app. All in all, I would use this provider again. I'm not sure if I would use the app again.

KG Doors quickly responded and came out for an estimate the same day I contacted them. They provided a free estimate of the work required, which was almost half as much as another company. When I scheduled the service, they showed up on time and completed the work quickly. I was very pleased with the service.

Called Josh for same-day garage door repair. He gave me a range of time when he planned to arrive. Showed up exactly when he said he would. And he replaced the coil spring in record time. Couldn't be happier.

Everything worked out perfectly. The gentleman was very courteous and it took as long as he said it would, no longer.

All work was efficiently performed as specified.

In addition to the Big Deal offer, the technician helped to repair an issue that was causing the door to shut incorrectly (needed to be re-bolted). He was extremely patient in fixing the door, despite the fact that it was one of the coldest days of the year. Hugely appreciated.

We have used KG Doors in the past a few times for issues with our garage door. He had done a tune-up with roller replacement for us sometime last year. When he came out to look at what was going on with our garage this time around, he told us that part of the issue was because one of the rollers had broken off and caused the opener to be off-kilter. He said that he will only charge us $25 for the parts and that he would warranty his work from last year. He has been very reasonable and has done a good job every time that we have used him. I would definitely recommend him to others.

They were great. Answered my call immediately, and came over right away. It was a miserable, cold Chicago day, and they worked like champs to get my garage door working again. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

I purchased the Angie's List garage tune-up deal and KG Doors came out and serviced the garage, as arranged. About two weeks later, I started having some issues with the door not closing properly. I called KG Doors and they sent out a technician to address the mysterious problem. A few days later, the problem returned. Josh, the owner, came out to service the garage opener. While the issues is, unfortunately for me, seemingly in the opener circuit board, KG Doors was responsive and attentive to my issue. My calls were returned in a timely manner and all work was completed according to the appointments we set. Josh and his crew were kind to deal with and they did not charge me any additional fees to service the door, beyond the initial $99. Decent guys, good service.

Provider was professional, timely, and honest. I thought the issue would be an expensive one, but the provider explained the fix and the cost was very reasonable.

The arm from the door opener to the interior of the door ripped away from the surface of the door apparently because the door had frozen to the pavement. The first provider we had come out would not even entertain my idea of how to repair the door. His solution, at the minimum, was to replace the entire upper panel of the door but since our door was black and he could only provide a white panel he suggested that the entire door be replaced. I immediately sent him on his way and called K G Doors. They agreed to come out on the 26th, assess the situation and provide a free estimate. They called the morning of the 26th and provided a time period they would be here and actually arrived before that time period. Josh looked at the damaged door, quoted me $125.00, I agreed, and he went to work. He had the job completed in less than an hour. The finished repair is so substantial that I think if the door were to freeze to the pavement again the opener would pull up a section of driveway before it would pull out of the door (if that were possible).

Josh came by on date we set, within two days of initial call. Replaced rollers, greased hinges, and inspected door. Took maybe twenty minutes for my garage door to be transformed from a medival drawbridge whining sound to wisper quiet. I was pleased. Josh patiently answered our questions. My husband told him we were concerned with the winter coming, that at times we had trouble opening the garage door with the remote. He tested the remote going up and down our alley and explained that a number of things can block a signal. He mentioned a wall console with new remotes. Uses up to three different signals and has a number of really interesting features. We asked him to get one and install it for us. He said he'd pick one up and stop by the next day about noon. He was on time, went right to work, and showed my husband its features and how well it worked from all directions. My husband told Josh I was was going to be very happy.....I am. Thank You.

K G Doors did an excellent job, they provided an accurate estimate, arrived on time, did the work that was agreed on, and the frame of the garage has never looked better. I would definitely recommend them. They were a professional company and their staff were very easy to deal with.

Provider arrived on time the day that he promised and performed all work as promised within one hour. He had a neat appearance and a professional demeanor.

Our garage door hadn't worked well for years so I purchased the Big Deal tune-up. I suspected it would need more work than would be covered so I was prepared to pay a little extra ($60 for (4) pulleys). They were on time, worked fast and my garage door works better than it ever has.

About 3 weeks ago, Josh came over to do a tune-up (from a coupon that I purchased here in Angie's List). He did a great job and I gave him an outstanding review. Three weeks after the tune-up, the garage door opener stopped working. Although it may seem weird that only 3 weeks after the tune-up, the garage door opener would stop working, I do not think Josh had caused this to happen. A company that used to do tune-up work on our garage door told us that our opener is unreliable and not a good brand. We wanted to replace it but had no reason to since it was still working. Josh installed our new opener and we are very happy with his work. He also replaced an old end bearing that was causing so much noise when opening/closing the garage door. Yes, we will still hire him in the future for any garage door related work.

Our garage door wouldn't open so we contacted KG Garage Doors. The provider came to our condo on time. He looked at our garage door, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it in 2 hours at a reasonable cost. Would definitely hire again.

Lifesaver! I have a new garage door which got damaged by a freak/idiotic accident. It wouldn't close. KG came out within a few hours and fixed it straight away, very very reasonable price. Very happy that I can close my garage again.
