I called about our garage door not going up and down straight because my husband backed into the wall on one side of the door. Josh came the next day, right when he said he would be there. He fixed everything, including replacing and re-seating some screws that he thought would make the door work better. He explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. He gave me the 10% discount from the June magazine, too. We were very pleased with everything and would absolutely recommend him and KG Doors to other people.

K G came as promised, got to work on the problem, and didn't charge a fortune. It was a good experience as these things go.

A spring-coil broke on our commercial-grade garage door. Called our usual garage door company (Crystal Overhead Doors), and their receptionist was horrible to me on the phone, as it was 10 minutes from "quitting time". I told her I'd be going with another vendor. Found K G Doors on Angie's List. Their guy was out here in just over an hour, and their emergency charge was $80 less than the other vendor. He had to come back the next day, because he didn't carry coils that large on his truck. He honored the coupon for half-off the service call on the 2nd day, and was in and out of here in under an hour. Very nice person, and great service! I would recommend them to anyone who needs work done on their garage door.

Spring broke on garage door. Called another company on Friday morning. Could get to it on Monday. Called KG Doors. Wayne was here that afternoon. Replaced both springs for a price less than the first company's quote.

They answered their phone promptly; set up an appt for the next day. They arrived on time, figured out solution quickly, and then repaired and maintained the opener in less than 20 mins. The charge was fair, and they honored an Angie's List discount. I strongly recommend them.

My Garage door wasn't working and I didn't know what was wrong. I called the Garage Doctor and they came in the same day and on Sunday and told me that my springs were broken. They fixed so quick that i got to enjoy the rest of my holliday weekend with no stress. They also did it all for a great price even on a Holiday weekend.

KG dispatched a person to my property on the same day and gave me a very fair estimate. He arrived the next day with a replacement door and installed the door to my satisfaction. KG is a good outfit. Would recommend them to anyone looking to repair/replace garage doors.

Called KG Doors and they gave me the price of the install over the phone. They sent out their technician the same morning and replaced the springs. I was satisfied with their price and service.

KG Doors has done great service for me before, which helped me to keep my ancient garage door opener working. Finally (five years after I first decided to replace it but was told it might hold on longer, hooray!) it stopped lowering the door altogether and I agreed with Josh that it was time for a new opener. The installation, scheduled at my convenience, was fast, the technician friendly, and it was extremely affordable. The new door opener works flawlessly and we are thrilled.

Josh came right out within a few hours of my phone call. He replaced pulleys, sprimgs, wheels, etc. I thought we'd have to replace the garage door, but he was able to fix it quickly at a reasonable cost. Would definitely call KG Doors again.

K G Doors' staff and technician were prompt, informative and fair. They came out within 24 hours to assess the problem and provide a quote. Though they had to wait for a part to be ordered and shipped, they finished the repair within a reasonable amount of time and at a great price. They also went above and beyond by checking on and fixing other small issues. Overall, nice and honest people with good service and pricing.

Joshua was on time and completed the installation in about an hour and a half. The reason it took a little longer was that the 2x6 wood plank that's attached to the garage was split and could not longer be used (it's the original wood from when the home was built in 1955.) Joshua had to cut and form the wood to my cinder-block. It was 25 extra and still cheaper that other service door provider. I was charged what I was quoted on the phone plus the damaged wood (which was about the difference when I used the Angie's list coupon.) I would do business with K & G Doors again.

Just after the 2011 Snowpacalypse here in Chicago, we'd finally cleared out enough of the alley to get our car out of the garage, then what happens? BAM! Garage door breaks... won't open... something bad we can't figure out. It's a super old detached garage with an old heavy wooden door on a rusty track. We were convinced its time had just run out, but in the desperation to avoid having to find parking on the street with everyone playing 'dibs', we called KG Doors because of their great reviews. We called on a Saturday morning at around 9am, and Josh said he's be over between 10 and noon. He was punctual, polite, and recognized the problem with the door after a short diagnosis. He didn't have the part necessary to fix it on hand, but went out to get one, brought it back, and our door was working again the same afternoon! He apologized for having to run out, but we were so seriously jazzed that he was going to be able to fix it, we didn't care at all about the extra time. I'm still just really impressed he was able to come out the same morning we called. That was incredible to me. Josh also went above and beyond the call of duty by fixing the old garage door opener that was in the garage when we bought the house, but had stopped working after about a week of living there. What a bonus! We'd been manually opening/closing the door for over 2 years. After reading other reviews, I was prepared to pay between $100-200, and the final cost INCLUDING OPENER REPAIR was $125. Excellent value. Thanks again, Josh!

Josh answered his phone immediately, and offered to come the next day. I couldn't be home till three days later. The only criticism I have is that he arrived an hour EARLY, at 8:00 AM on a Saturday--we had agreed to 9:00 AM--and didn't call before coming. This was mildly inconvenient because I wasn't dressed yet and he had to wait for me to come outside to show him the problem. He apologized for this and otherwise the job went extremely well. Both he and his co-worker were professional, friendly, and efficient. They had to run out to a local distributor for the parts for the weatherstrip replacement but this only took about 30-40 minutes and the job was done at a flat fee so I didn't pay for that time. Overall I was very happy. I'd rather have someone show up early than late, and gave him the feedback to call ahead next time if he was coming at a time other than the one agreed to. He took this feedback without getting defensive so the experience was quite pleasant. The price, given what I pay others for similar levels of technical expertise and time, was very reasonable. I highly recommend this company.

Great. We called later in the morning on a Sunday (the Sunday after New Year's, no less). They paid us visit to take a look at our garage door. It had been broken for a long time from the previous owner, and we couldn't get it open. He gave us a very reasonable estimate and completed the job in about an hour. We haven't had any problems with it since and plan to use KG Doors to install a garage door opener in the future.

Everyhthing went very well, from start to finish.

Tried calling a few places but got answer machines. Josh answered and gave me a 2 hour window when he could come that afternoon. He called when he was 25 mins. away and again when he arrived. Explained problems. Yes he could repair it. He had to replace the gear and sproket. He also lubricates it and gave me 90 day warrenty on labor and 3 years on parts. He was fast and professional

I called at the end of the day and got an appointment for 8am the next morning. Josh arrived promptly. The door malfunction is intermittent, which made it difficult to diagnose, but Josh had an idea of what to do and charged me a great price for the service. The work is guaranteed for 90 days and when the problem recurred a couple of weeks later, Josh came back for free. Again, I couldn't recreate the problem while he was there (frustrating for me) but Josh made more adjustments and the door has been problem-free since then. I am very satisfied - he is a friendly and professional person and clearly knows his way around garage doors.

He arrived a few minutes early. Did the job in 20 minutes. Had some recommendations for other service, but we declined the other services at this time. He was able to come to the house the same day we called.

FANTASTIC. They immediately answered at 9 pm, said they could be there in an hour, showed up as scheduled, and fixed it in a short period of time at little cost. It was really, really messed up. I Would recommend them to anyone.

I was extremely satisfied with the results. The work was done fast and it was well done. No complaints.

He was reasonable, prompt, easy to work with and patiently explained what he'd done and how to use it. Will definitely use him again.

I called K G at 12pm and Josh said he'd could come in a few hours. He showed up at 1:30pm, it was awesome that he was able to make it so quickly and on the same day as my call. He had to work extra hard to get the door open, he fixed the wiring, installed an emergency door release and replace an old remote. He worked quickly and was very professional and nice. I highly recommend them and hire them again in a minute.

The whole repair from phone call to job completion was about 2 hours. In this heat that a big plus if anyone has ever had to manually open a metal garage door in 90 degree weather or any weather for that matter.

Seems our garage door was not installed properly in 2006 when we rehabbed our garage to accomodate a roof top deck. KG came at the appointed hour replaced components of the lift mechanism that were broken on the initial install, lubed the springs, took the slack out of our drive chain, and fixed the point where the drum spool was rubbing against the "I" beam that supported the deck floor/roof. Our door is 100% more quiet and runs as it should. Excellent honest provider will recommend & re-hire if/when the need arises.
