Do NOT hire these guys!I had three projects: 1) Re-stuff back couch cushions 2) reupholster king size headboard 3) re-stuff bottom couch cushions.I called Julian Marc when I found them while driving to a friend's house. ( I had been wanting to do these projects and I just saw the business and called.) Julian came to look at back couch cushions, Said he had just the thing. Took the cushions away and three days later, had them back, perfectly stuffed and beautiful! "Awesome" Says I! I will hire them for the headboard....and thus my troubles began.I purchased the fabric I wanted for the headboard. I called. Twice. Finally got a call back. Arranged a date for them to pick up headboard. Was told the job would take about a week, given I had the fabric and all they had to do was cover the piece. 81/2 weeks later...finally got the headboard back after SEVERAL calls to them checking in. (They never, not once, called me to let me know they were running behind.) They made three scheduled appointments with me to deliver the headboard. The third was the actual delivery, the first two resulted in them not showing up ( I cancelled meetings to be home for the delivery on both occasions) not calling to let me know they weren't showing up, and then a claim that they had called and left a message...which they didn't. Additionally, they kept telling me the piece was "almost done" but them in subsequent calls letting me know that they were "running behind." How can both of those statements be true?My absolute favorite interaction with them was during a phone call that I, of course, made to them to check in. I asked when the piece would be done and Julian, with whom I was talking said "Hold on a second..." I heard him say, presumably to Marc, "It's Kara asking about the headboard..." To which Marc replied... "I f****** HATE her!"Really? Keep in mind that Marc and I have never met or talked on the phone. At that point I was wary to complain because I figured if I did...they might "punish me" by not finishing the project or taking even more time. They did deliver the headboard and I must say they did a really nice job and the price was very reasonable. However, no apology for the runaround no discount for their bad service...nothing. Yes, they do good work, yes the price is reasonable, but they are so awful and unprofessional I am sure anyone can find an upholsterer with the same level of talent, a similar price range and FAR BATTER customer service. Don't use these guys unless you like someone being rude to you, disrespecting your time, and not following through.

Julian was very gracious during the four or five visits. It took time to do this, because of my job demands, weather and life events, but it happened. However, once the fabric was ordered, nearly eight weeks later the fabric had not arrived, and I cancelled the order. In this economy, it's not good practice to leave payments out there when companies (their supplier, not Julian Marc) might be out of money. They found it from someone else (turns out Julian Marc were changing who their suppliers were anyway). We reordered (it wasn't handled smoothly), but four weeks later it's still not arrived. However, at the end of a couple of tense emails back and forth, the final mail from Julian Marc is mean spirited, condescending, abusive and uncalled for. I will share the whole trail with anyone privately, but don't plan to post them publicly, not because of language but because of the personal attacks made in the last one about "my mid-life crisis, my taste in decorating" and other personal characteristics. Their upholstering skills might be fine. I don't know. But I know that no one deserves to be talked to in this way.

Finished in less than 1 week. Originally, the chair seats had a welting detail around the edges. To my pleasant surprise, Julian Marc included the same welting detail when re-upholstering those chair seats. I was not expecting him to do that for the price quoted, so my expectations were exceeded. He did not put the holes in the bottom of the seats, so I could find where to re-attach them to the chairs. I should have asked for this because I learned that he could have easily done it.
