+ 0 moreWe're big fans of Angie's List and since recently purchasing our first condo have used the List almost exclusively for contractors we've needed. For this job, however, we ended up going with a recommendation from a coworker. JT Hardwood was not on the List until we just added them, but I would highly recommend them. Not only were they timely and professional, but their estimate came in $1500 lower than the lowest estimate we received from the three other companies we had bid out the job (all Angie's List providers). JT oversaw all the work and his guys showed up on time every day and we thought really cranked through the job without compromising workmanship. The end result looks great. JT even makes sure to come out the day after the job is completed to do a walk-thru with you to see if you have any concerns. We thought that was a great, added plus to an already good experience.
Description of Work: Installed new red oak hardwood floors in 3 bedrooms (we removed the carpet ourselves). Leveled and bolted existing subfloor to eliminate creaking that was a problem in certain areas. Sanded, buffed and varnished with 3 coats of polyurethane (1 coat sealer + 2 coats varnish). Buffed and varnished existing hardwood floors of long hallway that connected all three bedrooms.

+ -1 moreBad experience. I would never do business with someone that does not have courtesy to cancel an appointment BEFORE it was to occur. I sat around waiting for him to show up. Very unprofessional!
Description of Work: Called for estimate to have stairs and hallway done in hardwood. He made an appointment to give estimate that evening at 7pm and never showed up. The next evening he left a message on my answering machine that although they scheduled the appointment they could not keep it and if I still wanted estimate to call back.
