Joel was referred to me by a friend and I couldn't have been more satisfied with his work. He is very responsive and listened to the details of what I needed to have done. I highly recommend him.

Joel was very professional and responsive. He personally came to the place of work to talk about what we needed and to also come within the budget we had for the renovation. Joel also recommended a contracter who completed the work professionally, thoughouly and under budget.

Joel is a wonderful architect and a pleasure to work with. We liked him and his process for developing ideas to design and solve our problem. We provided Joel with details of the situation (code violations) and what the City was requiring us to do, and he came back with documents that were complete, satisfied the City requirements, and met our budget. He was completely open to our ideas and suggestions. He informed us of the pros and cons which allowed us to stay on track. In the end, we were extremely happy with Joel and his work. We would definitely recommend Joel to anyone looking for a great architect!

Joel understood how important it was to have the garage match the angles and design of our original 1927 Tudor. It was difficult because the City required us to redo the architectural drawings 3 times before they would give a permit. Joel was patient and responsive throughout this tedious 6 month process. Joel inspected the job during construction to ensure the correct design and to ensure we met code.

Joel referred me to a contractor, who will not finish the work properly or reimburse overcharges. Joel designed a deck and when it did not pass city inspection, he would not help us. He offered to help mediate between the contractor and I and stopped returning phone calls/emails half way thru and we didn't get anything resolved. We were supposed to have 5 dedicated circuits in a photo studio and the subcontractor claims it was not on the plans to do that so he didn't wire it that way. We had to pay an electrician to have it rewired when it should have been included in the plans in the first place.

Called this firm among others retrieved from Angie's list to get a work started on conversion project. This was the only firm that called. The individual was very professional. He said that they were not able to this project but gave me good suggestions and recommendations.

I got exactly what I was looking for.

Left a message for Joel who called back immediately. He advised he didn't think he could take on the workload at this time because he had some commercial work keeping him busy. He then offered and provided me with 2 other architects that could possibly assist. Nice to receive an honest phone call declining the work and then nice of him to take the time to offer other architects.

It was a great experience overall. I had previously had a very bad experience with another architect on the same project, and I so very much appreciated Joel's professionalism and responsiveness. He knew what he was doing, asked us for our input and listened to us, recommended a fine contractor, obtained all necessary permits easily, and completed the project in a reasonable time-frame.

Joel returned call quickly (same afternoon). He was unable to do the work, but referred me to another architect.

Unfortunately Joel was unable to perform the work at this time, but was very helpful during our brief phone conversation. Very professional and friendly. Will definitely keep him in mind in the future.

This guy is awesome. He gave me about 7 names of architects that could help me and a bunch of information. I would recommend this person to anyone.

Joel was very polite, reasonably priced and came up with several useful suggestions. Given our time pressures, I wish the design phase had moved along faster (took 3 weeks when I think it should have taken 1), but all-in-all it was a good experience.

JOEL BERMAN RETURNED OUR CALL EVEN THOUGH HE COULD NOT PERFORM THE WORK REQUESTED. HE WAS VERY HELPFUL BY REFERRING US TO AN ARCHITECT WHO WOULD BE ABLE TO PERFORM THE TYPE OF WORK WE NEEDED. VERY PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS.
