Couldn't have been a better experience. I sent and email requesting a quote and within minutes Mike phoned and talked through the project. A few days later Jack came for a site visit and the next day I had a quote. We agreed upon the work to be done and scheduled a convenient time to start the work. They showed up exactly when they said they would and completed the job in less time then anticipated. Would definitely use again recommend them to friends.

Everything went very well. Jack and his team made adjustments on the fly to deliver the look and style we wanted. The project overall took 2 weeks, which included fabricating 2 fence gates from scratch to maintain a consistent look with the fence panels.

We hired SItko to remove our old wooden front stairs and porch railings and replace them with new synthetic material. We solicited 3 proposals and selected Sitko for the work. The price was in line with what we expected, and we signed the contract in late May. At the time the contract was signed we were told work would start in 2-3 weeks. After the initial deposit was sent via Quickpay, Michael stopped responding to my inquiries. I began to make preparations for legal recourse under the assumption that my deposit had been stolen and work would never start. Finally I heard back and was told that work would begin at the end of June. During the project, the team left material in our front yard and damaged the lawn which was unable to be repaired. The craftsmanship of the work was also quite poor. Connections for railing to the support posts were poor, and a piece of siding was patched with siding that did not match the color (see photos). I contacted Michael about the poor workmanship on July 13th. There was no response, though I was presented with a final invoice and asked to remit prompt payment. After a period of 8 weeks I received a message the morning of September 24th saying that someone would be out to make repairs that day (no advanced notice). The repairs of the work are still lackluster (the "repair" for the poorly connected railing was to put white caulk around the connection...). Overall, this was a very poor experience.

They came by to make an appointment stimate then silence. I called two weeks later and his partner in the office told me he would find out and call me right back. Again nothing. Hard to imagine using someone who doesn’t have the decency to communicate.

Mike, Jack and their team were fantastic throughout. We had several companies bid on the work and when Jack reviewed the project, he was extremely quick, articulated what he thought about the rebuild and wasted none of my time. The crew came on time, left no mess and did a wonderful job throughout. I was a bit naïve about the necessities of excessive detail for things like this but everything down to quarter round trim was completed without request.

Jack Sitko came to look at the work that needed to be done and was never to be heard from again. I followed up once but never received a response.

We are a small Home Owners Association living in a vintage six flat. When the building was rehabbed in 2001 the porches were not built according to code and we knew they had be replaced. As such, we had been diligently saving for our "porch project" for the last five years. When it was time to move forward and select a contractor we did so with trepidation. So many nightmare stories of no shows, delays and faulty construction! Ugh! Understandably nervous- we proceeded with caution and interviewed many. MANY contractors. From the first conversation we had tremendous confidence in J Sitko. They were timely, professional and confident, they steered us away from an ill advised desire to make the porches bigger, explained the permitting and architectural processes and other options. They promised a fast turn around and excellent work and they 10000% delivered. The first day they started I asked how long it would take to tear the porch down - they said 2 days and they were right. The J Sitko crew has a ferocious work ethic. They did not mess around - working in all weather- focused and the job they did is impeccable. In a few short weeks the new porch was back up. We all were so impressed ! Not only that, they were very flexible, we made some minor changes and several of us wanted dog gates built (its a doggie building) no problem . We also had to have them coordinate with the company that was doing our hardscape to make sure that the projects both dovetailed to completion in a pretty tight timeline. Every request was met positively, politely and professionally. We had no issues at all and consequently we have spent time patting ourselves on the back for hiring not the cheapest (also not the most expensive) contractor to create a really functional, esthetically pleasing 3 story porch with stairs we can walk on without falling! I really appreciated every step of the process and I am thrilled with our choice of J Stiko. We know we will enjoy our gorgeous new porches for many many years to come. I can't wait to get my porch furniture out !

J. Sitko Construction did a great job for us. The porch on our circa 1880s home needed some spot repairs along with some additional work on selected window frames. They delivered a prompt estimate, arrived when they said they would and did quick, quality work at a good price. Would definitely recommend and work with them again.

My situation was a 3-Flat Gray Stone building Semi-Enclosed Back Porches needed to be torn down and re-built (same structure) to the current City of Chicago building codes. I had interviewed several Porch Builders regarding the above information. Most of the builders had Not built Semi-Enclosed Back Porches. J. Sitko Construction understood my request and welcomed the opportunity to build the porches. Before going further the builder provided me with a dozen recently completed neighborhood porch projects to review. The porches were quality, solid and nice detail finishing on the porches. One owner told me that J. Sitko Construction did a super job. Jack Sitko Owner/Master Builder and Mike Fredman Partner/Sales Manager are a terrific professional team and communicate well throughout the project. They provided me the contact of JSG Design who they have collaborated with on many projects for Architectural Services. Stephen was great to work with on necessary building documents. The project was executed very professionally, quality materials, timeliness and great attention to detail finishing aspects on the porches. I have learned a lot about porch construction and the terrific job J. Sitko Construction provided to exceed my expectations with the finish product. Definitely J. Sitko Construction is a great builder for your porch projects!

Mike in the office and Jack managing the crew were easily accessible and personable. They made sure that they knew what we wanted, what options were available, and what the work and payment schedules would be once construction began. The work crew was punctual, diligent and very competent. The finished project easily met our expectations and showed a high standard of workmanship. We are very pleased with the result. I would recommend J Sitko Construction without reservation.

Great from start to finish. His pricing is reasonable, Jack and Michael have great communication and have very professional crews. They take a lot of pride in their work and it shows in every way. It was a large outdoor job in the middle of winter and they didn’t track one piece of dirt or show through the house when getting to and from the roof. The guys were waiting at the door to start work every morning. The work was top notch. One of the best experiences we’ve had with contractors from any trade. Highly recommended. A++

Quality of work was good but had some difficulty with communication and punctuality.

It did not go. I have no problem, if a company says we are to busy, or they don’t want the job, but don’t waste my time or yours coming out to talk about project and then don’t give an estimate or call back when leaving message.

The guys are almost done and so far we are very happy with their professionalism, punctuality, and quality.

We were extremely pleased with every aspect of this job. The workers were very detailed and the deck was even better than we hoped for.

Jack sent out one of his crew.. Roman was very nice, It seemed to me that he did did not have enough building supplies. Nevertheless,, he completed the work. I quickly noticed the new planks (maintenance free boards) were peeling, and had lots of little nail holes in them. When I complained about it, they simply flipped the boards. The other sides also had numerous little nail holes in them. The next day Roman came back and patched them. It looks terrible. Also, the top raiser has a very noticeable seam on the front step. It also looks very bad. So I called Jack and even sent him a text photo of it. There was no response. I did proceed to pay him the full amount for the work, because I believed Jack would come back and fix it these things. I was so wrong. Since then, my wife has noticed that the planks even squeak as you go up and down the stairs. What a joke. If you want quick response, excellent workmanship, and total satisfaction in a deck contractor, don't contact J. Sitko Construction. At this time, I will never use or recommend J. Sitko Construction. Not an Angie's List "A" rated company in my mind.

J Sitko Construction did a wonderful job building our deck. It is rare nowadays for a company to go well beyond the contract to please the costumer but J Sitko did. They were prompt, professional throughout the whole process from getting the permit to building the deck. I would highly recommend this company!

Micheal came out and did an estimate for our porch build. In the end we went another route, however, his price was fair and he was very knowledgable and kind through out the process. I will definitely reach out to them for other bids in the future.
