HOOKUP SOLUTIONS INC

I was referred to "Tom" from the owner of Deltronics when I called to see if they could refer me to someone who could come into my home and hook up/connect/set up the following: 1 HD TV, 1 analog TV, 2 DVD players, 1 VCR, 1 Tivo and 1 DVR An appt for 8/25 was set for 3pm ish...I received a call about that time stating that the morning call was not complete and we rescheduled for the following Monday. Tom arrived on time and I showed him my project. He was at an immediate disadvantage for 2 reasons...he thought this was a "consult" (not an actual service call) and he is allergic to cats (I have 5)! But he plunged into the project with enthusiasm until he realized that my "system" really couldn't be connected. I have DISH cable (which doesn't work with TIVO), one of the DVD players would not work, the DVR I purchased was outdated and all in all me and my equipment are very outdated. He tried to get something connected but ultimately suggested I contact the DISH people and consider adding their DVR to my service and do what was necessary to connect my secondary tv, etc. I believe Tom is very knowledgeable and very capable of setting up a system with current technology and I would consider calling them in the future if I decide to upgrade. The shortfall I see is that the person who set up the appt did not ask all the right questions upfront to insure a successful call/installation. Being tech challenged (and I am being kind to myself with that description) I didn't know the right questions to ask which resulted in a waste of Tom's time and skill and my time. He would not charge me for the time spent which was very generous of him. He said "I can't charge you when I didn't fix anything". My recommendation: if you have new/current equipment and want someone to set it up call Tom...he's a professional.

I emailed hookup solutions and told Tom how frustrated I had become trying to get my older components to work together with the new equipment required by my TV cable service provider. I really wanted to be able to record TV shows even if it meant I had to watch another show in another room if both were on at the same time. I had convinced myself that my old VCR was broken and had to be repaired or replaced either by a new VCR or by a digital video recorder. Tom told me his fee to make a trip here to diagnose the problem and try to get everything working. Ultimately, he was able to give me suggestions by phone that finally - after much trial and error because I'm electronically impaired - got everything working together. I thought I'd be paying for a visit, and/or a repair, and/or a new component which I'd have to pay to have installed. Tom's advice saved me from all of these expenses. He was patient and professional throughout.

He was very professional, knowledgeable and accommodating. Everything looks great and is working well. I would hire him again.

Tom was great! He wired all the parts, then explained in detail how to use each one. He is intelligent, personable, patient, and a good communicator. I couldn't have been more pleased.

I called Tom about a job. Though he was booked and the work was outside his typical realm, he was very courteous and suggested someone else for the job who I am now using. He spent more time than he had to giving me advice, which impressed me.

I AGREED WITH THE PREVIOUS COMMENTS: TOM IS VERY COMPETENT, COMMUNICATES WELL, AND IS A REALLY NICE PERSON. I DID NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH PUNCTUALITY--HE CALLED BACK PROMPTLY AND ARRIVED FOR TWO SEPARATE APPOINTMENTS ON TIME.

TOM IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, HARD WORKING, NICE, AND HAS FLEXIBLE HOURS.
