Homer's Electrical and Handyman Service

I was contacted first thing in the morning, which was a relief given that this was somewhat of an emergency. My electrical issue was addressed that day and a new electric panel and outlet were both replaced/ installed by 1:00 that afternoon, which is saying a lot because the wiring in my building is really messed up. The workers were courteous and explained the issues and work that needed to be done clearly. I would recommend this business.

Homer Electric was really great. Homer came to my home for an estimate and I was truly impressed with him. He gave an estimate and a time frame which were spot on. The work was done in one day just as he said and the cost was exactly the same as the estimate. When him and his crew left my home, it was as if they were never there. That is how well they cleans up after they were done. I would highly recommend Homer to anyone needing electrical work done.

Homer came out to our house the day after I requested quotes on Angi for an electrical service panel upgrade (from 100A to 200A). I received three quotes for the job in total; one was $1000 more than the other two, and Homerâ s was fairly even with the third. I went with Homer because of the way he answered questions and talked me through the job during his initial visit. Homer and two of his electricians showed up this morning for the job, and the two electricians got the job done quickly (in about three and a half hours) and with quality workmanship. (And everyone seemed to have good senses of humor and good rapport with one another, which is great to see) Homer returned toward the end to oversee things and make sure I was satisfied with everything. Itâ s only been 20 min since the power came back on, but so far Iâ m happy with the job they did and would highly recommend Homerâ s Electrical!

You can tell that Homer has been in this industry for a long time. He was knowledgeable and straight to the point of what I needed when he came and gave me a quote. My dishwasher and laundry were on the same circuit so I could not run them at the same time. I needed them to be separated - which I guess makes it up to code anyways he said. Him and another co-worker came promptly on time of the scheduled appointment. They gave me a 4 hour time frame and they were done in 2 1/2 hrs. Great service and now I can run both laundry and my dishwasher at the same time! Would definitely use them again!

My outlet blew out Saturday at 3:30, added a request of 3:45 on HomeAdvisore. Homer called at 5pm land said he could be here 9am Sunday. He was on time, replaced 6 outlets on 60 minutes, his price was very reasonable. He also suggested breaker box be replaced as was not installed correctly and was old. He quotes another great price. Homer kept in touch with me until the parts arrived. His grandson Eric and Ron showed up on time and completely replaced the box very quickly and safely. They disposed of the old box. I highly recommend Homer Electric and his employees. Very happy.

Homer's team, including Eric and Norris, did a great job upgrading my electrical panel, rewiring switches, and installing a new doorbell. Homer was extremely responsive from the moment we first connected and his team performed high quality in a short amount of time.

Homer's Electrical Service did an excellent job of upgrading our Electrical service from 100 amps to 200 amps for our three-flat building. From the time I first talked to Homer on the phone, I thought it likely we'd hire him. When he came to do the estimate it was clear he new what was necessary inside and outside and how to handle the city permits and interface with ComEd. He explained in layman's terms what he would do and why and then was able to estimate the materials needed just by eyeballing our basement. His acurracy was proven by the small amount of unused piping and wiring left over. When a previous job delayed the start of our work by a day, he brought in additional workers so that they were able to complete the work in one day instead of two, and shorten the Electrical outage from 3z4 hours to one. His crew were all professionals, each man knowing his rolen and as a group leaving little evidence of their being there other than the newly installed equipment. Afterwards everything went smoothly with the Comed inspectors and crew who ran the new lines from the alley. We highly recommend Homer's Electrical Service and will hire them the next time we have major electrical work needing to be done.

Excellent work changing the old electrical boxes (Inside the house & outside plus adding an 8 feet copper rod), in a short notice he and his associates came to my home at 7:30 am on December 24 plus he troubleshoot and fixed the safety issue with one of the cables from the outside pole. Thanks!!!!
