+ -1 moreThey did a tear-off and replacement of the roof on our house. This included installing a ridge vent, mushroom vents, and flashing. As they were doing the roof work, they noticed the vent stack in the attic was corroded, and replaced it for no extra charge. Later in that same winter a few of the new shingles had blown off the roof already, so we called them about it. It seems I had barely set down the phone, and the owner was at my door to take a look. He explained that since the work was done just before winter the shingles hadn't had a time of hot weather to settle onto the house, and that explanation seems very reasonable to me. His guys came and fixed the shingles right away and things have been fine since then. We were very impressed by their responsiveness.
Description of Work: Replaced the roof on our two-story house.

+ -1 moreRick was 1 of 4 estimates, and they were in the ball park of pricing. We hit a spell of hot weather and they waited for the weather to break. That tells you how well he thinks of his employees. It took 1 1/2 days to complete, tear off, re-roof , new chimney and re-roof shed. , The product they put down under the shingles was top notched Everything Rick said, it was done. His workers were polite and took very good of our property. When they were done. every scrap was picked up and everywhere including the driveway, gutters, etc was blown clean with a power blower. I will recommend his company every chance I get.

+ 2 moreEverything went well. It is a family-owned business, being in business a long time. We had a lot of estimates, some lower, but they were not going to do as much detailed work. Everything was done great. The staff was very good. They were clean and picked everything up. I would tell others that the workers were gentleman, with no swearing. They cleaned up after themselves. The owner was the foreman and kept an eye on everything. They did as much as they could the first day so in case it rained the house would not be exposed.

+ 2 moreWe had hail damage, so they did the roof and the gutters. They also installed siding. We wanted all new windows, so we got windows. There was a lot of work done as it was a large house. I have 26 new windows. I have a front porch roof, there was a roof over the front door, there was another roof projection from the house, and another roof over the bay. There was also a back porch roof. I was satisfied with their work. I think he is a contractor and has a team of roofers. It’s a small company. When he does work he wants to know who his workers are and what they are doing. He doesn’t want to have a big company that sends out crew and he doesn’t know what they are doing. They worked very hard the whole time. They weren’t slacking off at all. The owner of the company is very personable. If we call him he would come out and check the problem. I hadn’t cleaned my gutters for 19 years. He and his brothers run the company. The insurance company had taken care of a large part of the cost. I didn’t get any other estimates, so I don’t know if the price was competitive. I just trusted them. The quality of their work was excellent.
Description of Work: I used Hilite Building Maintenance Maintenance Inc. for gutter repair and replacement. They had to take off all the aluminum siding, all the gutters, and the roof.

+ -1 moreI ask Randy to come every year after the leaves are done falling. His men climb on the roof, blow out the gutters, and rinse the downspouts and gutters clean. These downspouts drain into the front or backyard. Mess is cleaned up. I told him about a problem on the edge of the roof of the addition where water spills over the gutters. Randy came up with a simple solution by inserting a "baby tin" under the shingles to divert the water. This worked as a test last Fall and I will probably ask him to install a bigger piece as a more permanent solution. He did not charge me for the test solution.
Description of Work: A call to Randy and a message on his voice mail every Fall results in a service call with his men to clean out the oversized gutters on our 2-story Chicago colonial. We have a lot of leaves that fall into the gutters from the overhanging trees.

+ -1 moreRick came out to give the estimate and I was immediately impressed with his professionalism and knowledge, in addition to the fact that he never seemed pushy or tried to oversell me the job. Hi-Lite's estimate was not the lowest or the highest we received, but it was the most thorough and reasonable.The work was completed in less than five days and the workers were very neat and professional--I received absolutely no complaint from my neighbors, only praise. We had a small leak from one of the skylights following the roof replacement, which Hi-Lite has been prompt to repair. It was all together a very positive experience.
Description of Work: Complete tear-off and replacement of the roof and gutters for a 100+ year old single family cottage.

They came out for the bid and discussed different options, and then came out a second time and helped narrow things down. What I really needed to get done and things like that. They also gave me the name and phone number of the owner of the place from where the roofing material was to come. This is because I had questioned the pricing of the roofing material. They were not trying to hide anything from me, which was nice. They were also able to explain things better to me. I would use their services in the future and definitely recommend them to people.

In addition, he always cleans up after himself. Several years ago, he installed a new roof on my house and regularly maintains it. He is excellent at all the jobs he has done for me.
Description of Work: My house has four bedrooms and one and a half baths. I would say the house is about sixty feet by twenty feet. He cleaned my gutters using air. In the past when he has encountered stubborn dirt, he has also used water.

On-time, quick, excellent work, respectful of neighbors, polite, very reasonable given the caliber of the job, great clean-up (the sidewalk along the side of my house is cleaner than it was before). Randy gave a highly accurate quote with a minimum of add-ons (due to discovery during the tear-off. He checked on the work, and even stopped by one Saturday before the roofing to install a temporary shingle patch where I had a sudden leak on the back-porch roof. A pleasurable experience. I highly and happily recommend this company.
Description of Work: Complete tear-off (3 layers of shingles) and plywood. New plywood, felt base, icewater shield, chimney base, soil pipe shield, 30-year shingles, flashing, some wood, gutters on three sides -- all on steeply pitched main roof. 5-year warranty on work, 30-year warranty on shingles.

Description of Work: Randy Rothstein came out twice to help identify the source of a leak. The first time it was not obvious, and he suggested coming back when the snow had melted. He did not charge us. The second time he did a water test, and at the suggestion of my husband, took out some drywall and found the leak in a pipe in the ceiling.

HE AND HIS CREW COMPLETELY TORE OFF 4-5 LAYERS OF THE OLD ROOF, REPLACED ROTTEN WOOD BELOW THE ROOF, REPLACED COPING TILES, REBUILT PARTIALLY INSIDE OF FIRE WALL, RE-ROOFED HOUSE IN 2 DAYS. Description of Work: CLEANED AND FLUSHED ALL GUTTERS ON HOUSE. WE HAVE USED THEM BEFORE FOR CLEANINGS AND THEY EVEN TOTALLY REPLACED ALL OF OUR GUTTERS LAST YEAR. THE COST IS VERY REASONABLE AND THEY CAME AND DID THE WORK AND JUST LEFT A BILL FOR ME. I DIDN'T HAVE TO BE HOME.
