Description of Work: Replaced the blower motor and capacitor and cleaned the fan. |They showed up one hour after my call and had my furnace working until they received the replacement motor the next day. They arrived early the next day for the installation . I am very satisfied with their punctuality and professionalism. I would highly recommend Heat Masters

Description of Work: I have used Heatmasters for more than 25 years. They have provided annual pm services on the furnace, boiler and AC they installed. Their pricing for repairs is often high and when asked to support proposals their answer is usually "that's our pricing policy". Feels like "take it or leave it."

Description of Work: Had Heatmasters investigate a furnace that was not running properly. They met with our tenants who were unhappy with the service visit. Tenants said the tech offered solutions that "seemed" unlikely to address the problem - like changing filters to use less expensive ones. We eventually addressed the furnace problem by hiring a different company and replacing the furnace.

Description of Work: My beef with this company is lack of customer service and business efficiency. Heatmasters apparently bought out the company A Day and Night heating, from which I had bought a $7K boiler and an A/C system of about the same price a few years prior. But when I call Heatmasters, I am a nobody. No records of my past purchasing history with the company acquired. I am on hold for a long time each time I call the Service desk (pound 1). I called in late September to arrange an annual boiler cleaning. I was given a date at least three weeks out. When I called the day before to confirm the appointment, the company had no record that I had called, and asked whom I had spoken to. As I recall now, I was put on hold in late September for so long (at least 10 minutes), than a man called me back to set up the appointments. I did not take down his name as I assumed his word was good. Each time I have called the company, I was put on hold ("Your call is very important to us ...") for at least 10 minutes. Getting through to Service takes far too long. This is not, in other words, "service." When the rep came out to my place, he (Tony) was excellent. Knowledgeable and mild-mannered given the circumstances but not really apologetic as what happened with the scheduling was not his fault. I was given the window of 8 a.m. to noon and he showed up at 3:30 p.m. Had I not called the company multiple times, I doubt he would have arrived that day. As a result of Heatmasters not coming during the generous four-hour window I had agreed to three weeks in advance, I missed an afternoon meeting. Tony also told me the cleaning would cost about $50 more than what the woman on the phone had quoted me the day before. So I refused to pay for that, but did indeed pay $89 for a diagnostic and Tony got the boiler up and running and advised me on bleeding the radiators and adjusting the pressure. Thank you, Tony. As much as I would like to continue with the acquiring company, the one that bought the company that installed almost $15K of equipment at my 3-flat, I feel I cannot continue with this company. They need to organize their business. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Their individual employees might be good at what they do, but they don't know how to work together. They seem to lack the systems to work together. As a result, I have no confidence they will be there for me -- even though I spent $15K -- when something bad happens in the dead of winter so I am looking for another service provider.

ULTIMATELY, WE WENT WITH ANOTHER COMPANY THAT WAS MORE COMPETITIVE ON PRICE, WAS EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL TO DEAL WITH, AND CAME UP WITH A BETTER SOLUTION TO OUR PROBLEM THAN HEATMASTERS.
