I needed a new 220 service to my detached garage. James and Alex came and dug the trench for the new service, and installed the new service. I couldn't be more pleased with the professionalism and quality of their work. I highly recommend Hardt Electric and will use them again when I need electrical work done.

This is my second time using this company. I have been more than satisfied with their services. Todd, the technician, has been very good to inform me of his availability. He called to firm up details of my needs, and again to confirm the appointment the day before. I appreciate a business that doesn't waste my time. This is the second time I have used Hardt Electrical services. I have been extremely pleased both times. Todd Connaughton, the technician, is prompt and professional. He gave me approximate dates he would be available to do the work requested during our first call, and then called to confirm his appointment a few days later. He called me the day before to confirm our appointment as well. I appreciate any business being concerned about booking my time. I was given the option to purchase these alarms, or to have him supply them. Todd provided safety and proactive information, I appreciate this as a homeowner. I will continue to use their services.

I recently had the cloth-covered wiring in my old (1944) house replaced by Hardt Electric and am very pleased with the results. Todd came out for an estimate and, after inspecting the house, explained what would likely need to be done. He was careful to caution me that there may be hidden problems since the house is old and may have been altered over the years. He did eventually uncover a number of hidden boxes. Todd was prompt and polite. He listened carefully to my concerns and explained things well, answering any questions I had. He did not presume and always consulted me before proceeding with anything that hadn't been anticipated. Todd is a master at his work and approached it with the same care as if he were rewiring his own home. It is a matter of pride with him that things be done properly. His staff was efficient and patient in applying for and receiving the permit from the city. It was a pleasure working with Todd. The work was professional and fairly priced, and I would highly recommend Hardt Electric.

After visiting the Hardt website and reading the reviews on AG I submitted a short detailed description of the work I was looking to have done. Immediately received a response from Todd who told me to call to schedule. I called this morning recapping the same information I submitted online and in the course of the conversation (about a minute) Todd interrupted me four times. The work Hardt does is probably good, the service is the worst in any industry I have experienced in a long time. I hung up when it was made very clear Todd didn’t want my business. Oh well, I am glad the relationship with Hardt was only a few total minutes and I didn’t pay besides my time. I can’t imagine having to interact with Todd again, especially if I’m paying for the pleasure.

A couple of months ago, we flipped a light switch and not only did the light not go on, but we lost electric power to half our upstairs. None of our circuit breakers were tripped, so we knew we needed an electrician. It was a Saturday, so we thought it might be difficult to get someone to come out that day, and if we did, it would be expensive. That evening and the next morning, we called several places we found on Angie’s List, including ones that advertised 24/7 availability. We couldn’t even find anyone that would pick up or call back. The next day, we looked harder at Angie’s List and called Hardt Electric. We talked to Todd, who said coming out on a Sunday would cost twice the weekday rate. He talked us through the situation and determined that we could live with no lights in most of the upstairs until he could come. We set up an appointment for the following Friday, when both of us could be home. Todd came on time, diagnosed the problem, and got our power back on― pretty much a whole day’s work. But he saw that our wiring, as it is in most old houses, was badly deteriorated and recommended that we rewire the whole upstairs of the house. Todd gave us a do-not-exceed estimate of the cost of the job ― four days for him and an apprentice. He explained how they would go about doing the job, in terms that we, as lay people, could understand. We set up an appointment for a few weeks later, when Todd was available. When they did the job, Todd and James came on time ― early, in fact, and got right to work each day. They worked steadily from start to finish, only taking half an hour off for lunch each day. They ran a power cord to our computer room so our wireless router would work while the power was off upstairs. They explained what they were doing, kept us up to date on their progress and always cleaned up when they were done. Todd and James finished in four days, as promised, and the charge for the job was less than the do-not-exceed amount we were quoted. We are very happy with the work they did for us, and would recommend them without hesitation. We will likely have Todd come out again at some point to do another couple of things that aren’t as urgent, but that would be good to fix.

Fantastic! James was very thorough and came up with the best solutions possible. He knows his trade and is a class act. We will be using him again for other projects as the come up.

As always with Todd at Hardt Electric he did a perfect job. We purchased a new ceiling fan to replace an old one that was not mounted properly and had bad wiring. Todd was able to fit us in a busy schedule, came exactly when he said he could and installed the fan quickly and most importantly... safely! With each job we hire Todd to do, he makes our house electrical systems work better and much safer. I cannot quantify the level of peace of mind we have after he completes a job for us. Top Notch Professional! Hardt Electric will be the only company that works on wires in our house.

Todd arrived on time and began work immediately. He installed an LED fixture to the garage. When he started working on the lighting on the side of the house he discovered some grounding issues that required rewiring behind the paneling inside the house. He fixed the problem and put everything back the way it was. He fixed the issue with the coach light. We are very satisfied with the work.

As in the past, Todd was exactly what is needed in a great electrician for miscellaneous work like this job or larger projects he has done for us in the past. Professional, very knowledgeable, problem solver, safety conscious, diligent tradesman. I will always call on Hardt as long as Todd is available to work in my old 100+ year home.

It went excellently. I called at 10:30am and he was at our home a little after 2:00pm and performed the above work in less than an hour. I am very satisfied with the work and I am scheduling some outside work soon.

Great. Better than expected. My wife said that Todd was very professional and friendly. He explained what he was doing and why the electrical problem occurred. He even took the extra effort of installing a GFCI outlet. I really appreciate the extra effort to help schedule me in on such short notice. Communicating over phone, email and text message was great. Would defintely hire again

Todd was fantastic! I have a 100 year old house and I appreciate someone who can make it work. He arrived on time, (plus confirmed the appointment the day before), was pleasant, thorough and persistent when my house's wires weren't cooperating and did everything I had on my list. I will definitely contact Hardt again with future electrical projects.

Lived in our home 10 years and had many many companies come to do work. Working with Todd was the best experience we have had with ANY service for our home. Punctual, pleasant, high quality work, makes good suggestions, works hard and efficiently, explains what he is doing, teaches you an electrician's trick, cleans up. The ceiling fixture we bought is a totally ridiculous install design...the instructions illogical as well. Todd figured out a mod to make it work. We will ask for him again as we need more work done. Yes there are cheaper out there but think...a shoddy electrical job can be deadly....or at least cost you more when you try to sell and fail inspection. Do you bargain shop for a cardiologist? Right, same with an electrician IMHO...get the best.

Replacing electrical outlets, switches, and light fixtures by myself is not a problem. But faulty wiring concealed behind a wall scares the bejeebers out of me. After reading all of the genuinely positive reviews of Hardt Electric on Yelp and Angie's List, it was clear that I could trust this company to do the job. I emailed Todd, their residential guru, over the weekend and he arrived at our home Monday morning. He was phenomenal, diagnosing and fixing the problem as though he could see right through the walls. 30 years' experience and friendly, too (he also likes dogs!). Todd enjoys what he does and offers helpful suggestions. The price was fair; Hardt does not gouge or 'nickel-and-dime.' So, I join others in giving this company a "Hardty" endorsement!

Terrific-got exactly what I asked for. One of the outlets turned out to be trickier than it looked. Electrician worked it out and got it done

We had a mixture of LED, fluorescent and halogen light bulbs on this circuit. All were flickering. Additionally the UPS devices we have our computers connected to were getting triggered and switching to battery power with some regularity. Called and he asked if we had changed anything, nope. If we had any of those lights on a dimmer. Aside from the built in dimmer on our ceiling fan (halogen bulb) nope. He did make me think about the fluorescent light however which remains on 24x7 as being a potential culprit. Before I scheduled the appointment I turned that off to see if the problems were resolved. They were. By talking me through potential causes he saved us the cost of a service call. Fantastic!
