Via Angie's List, I researched electric service companies for residential purposes near my home. Via Angie's List, I went to Hardt's web site. On the Hardt site, I sent an email explaining my problem. It was about 7pm. At 7:30pm, one half hour later, (wow!) Todd called me. We set up an appointment for the following day. I was at work when Todd came to the house but my wife said he was friendly and knowledgable. He fixed the breakers in about 30 minutes. While this may not have been my cheapest option, Todd was very responsive and got my problem solved in a very timely manner. I would use this service again.

Todd came by to assess the situation, and then sourced the right materials for the next visit. Todd also did a few other small tasks - replaced a dimmer switch, fixed reverse polarity on one lightswitch and replaced an outlet cover. Very knowledgable, punctual and friendly. Would use them again for any electrical repair.

I called Hardt Electric that morning and Todd arrived at my house about an hour and a half later. I was really surprised and pleased they could come that fast, but Todd was in the neighborhood finishing up another job. He was very knowledgable and courteous and got to work right away. He explained why it stopped working (when I had it cleaned they turned the chandelier which twisted the wires which loosened them). I had installed it a number of years ago myself, and not being proficient in installing chandeliers, I cut the wires a little to short. But he had it working in no time and even gave me some pointers on my recessed lights I was having issues with. I will definitely call him again for any electrical needs I have around the house.

I think the replacement of the new outlets, putting them up to code went very well. Todd was on time and performed the work in a timely manner. He cleaned up and moved my refrigerator

Todd was awesome. Really seemed to know what he was talking about. We had a new electrical service installed only 3-4 months ago, and Todd found a host of issues with it. He provided me with a list of issues and suggested I get my contractor to fix them, but otherwise he would be happy to come back out and take care of them. These guys aren't cheap ($133/hr), but like most things, you get what you pay for. I've definitely found my go to electrician from here on out.

Todd was great to work with from start to finish. After scheduling a service call, Todd stayed in constant communication as Chicago was dealing with a snowstorm. He was able to come for service within 48 hours of scheduling, was on time, and held true to the quote I was given ahead of time. The work didnt end up being very difficult but Todd was thorough and was able to give me some valuable advice about future plans with my place. I will plan to use him again for my future projects.

Todd was pleasant and responsive when I phoned to make an appointment and was able to come out the very next day (Wow!). I had purchased a new pendant lamp for our diningroom, but didn't want to hang it myself because I'm not confident with electrical matters. Also, the previous lamp had just stopped working, and I wan't sure if the problem was the lamp or something in the ceiling. I needed a pro! He was on time for our appointment, and was nice to talk to. He explained everything he was doing, and was able to fix a couple small things that needed replacing right out of his toolbag. He was very accommodating when I was being picky about the height of the hanging lamp, and it just couldn't have gone better. The price was also right ? we'll definitely call Todd again with any other electrical issues!

We called Todd based on the other Angie's List reviews - despite other electricians having "A"s, there were always occasional complaints about unreturned calls that I didn't see on Todd's reviews (and a pet peeve of mine with contractors and tradesmen). Todd was great! We had an outlet that had turned brown, so our handyman suggested an electrician look at it. Todd addressed the issue adeptly, as well as giving tips/suggestions on how to handle other minor electrical annoyances (ex bulbs burning out quickly) we were having. We have a bigger project coming up over the summer involving adding deck lighting, and we're glad we found a reliable, personable professional like Todd. Highly recommended!

Everything went great. I called on a Saturday and set up an appointment, had to re-schedule around some weather days without any problems. Todd came out on the day of service and efficiently addressed each of the tasks that we had for him. The pricing was very transparent. The work was very professional. I would hire Hardt Electric again.

Had no power to bathroom over a weekend (not a fuse). Called Hardt first thing Monday morning and the only reason they weren't there Monday was that I wasn't home. Came as planned Tuesday, identified and corrected issue quickly. Recommend.

It went great! Todd took time to trouble shoot the issue in a thoughtful and systematic fashion. After discovering the issue, he promptly fixed the problem. He even removed the item that created the issue and did not opt to replace it as it really wasn't necessary to replace it; especially because it would have cost more money. Todd also took time to explain how different devices work so that we will be better equipped in the future. Thanks for a job well done, Todd!

Todd showed up at out house at 7 am 12/30 and corrected the problem after about 3 hours of work. He had to remove some basement ceiling dry wall to get to 2 connection boxes. He replaced the 2 boxes and reconnected the wires. We have had no problems with our power going out since this work was done. My wife and I own a 100 year old frame home (built in 1914) with very old wiring throughout. We purchased this home in 1976 and have hired handymen and an apprentice electrician over the years to improve our electrical system. Todd pointed out that we really needed a complete upgrade to make our electric system safer - namely a new and larger fuse box, direct connections to some of our appliances and the furnace and electric grounding to our water intake meter. He provided us an estimate for 2 electricians from his company to return when the weather is warmer (the power would be shut off for 3-4 hours) for 16 hours of work (8 hours per electrician). I did not know that licensed electricians currently get $133 per hour, which was the reason I gave a B score for price. But in fairness to Todd, he did inform us his rate was $133 per hour plus the cost of parts.

A week after moving into our new condo, our receptacles in the kitchen stopped working. We discovered that due to existing faulty wiring, one receptacle by the sink shorted out, leaving some melted wiring. Since this affected all of our kitchen appliances, we need a to resolve the issue quickly. We talked to Todd at Hardt over the phone and understanding it was an emergency situation, he came out he next morning to take care of the issue. He arrived on time and was thorough in helping us to understand why the receptacle failed in the first place and what he was doing to correct it. Todd completed the work quickly and at the hourly rate discussed on the phone. We look forward to working with Hardt Electric on future projects in our new home.

Todd was fantastic. Took care if all my issues, discussed new lighting, very personable and make some great recommendations. Have now found my 'go-to' electrician. He also came straight away. Very happy customer!

Happy with work. Todd tried to save me a service call testing breaker on phone call. Came exactly on time, did what had to be done. Took about 45 minutes in its entirety. Yes I would use them again.

Initially, I used them probably a little less than a year ago and most recently about 2 months ago. I think they did a great job, the guys who came out helped us. Actually, the last time I had an appointment with him and got some work done. He could not come but then he fixed it. He came and that was good, so, that was an important timing situation for me. They did a great job. They were pretty comfortable though, like I said, they get anything cheaper.

The only electrician out of the 8 or 9 I called to answer the phone! None of those other ones from Angie's List even bothered to call me back. Todd was super knowledgeable and solution oriented. He was very professional, prompt and efficient. No one wants to annoying electrical issues, but he really made the situation pleasant and a good experience. It was clear he took a lot of pride in his work and craftsmanship.

Todd was great. Knows what he is doing. He was clean and professional He explained matters and I learned some helpful data. I recommend him without reservations and will use him again in the future Good guy to have around

Todd from Hardt Electric did an excellent job. He was knowledgeable, courteous and responsive. The rate charged might be higher than some other electricians, but the quality of work was well worth the price. Unlike some other contractors we have used, Todd did it right the first time. Highly recommended.

Todd was terrific. I had him do a number of electrical projects at my daughter's home. He is very knowledgeable, very professional, works quickly, and is a really nice guy. While he was working, he also pointed out a few dangerous wiring situations we were not aware of and corrected them. Todd is also extremely conscientious about scheduling. I had a scheduled appointment for a few days after I called--Todd's first opening, but asked him to call me if he had an earlier cancellation. He did, and he called me several times during his earlier appointment that day to let me know his progress on the earlier job and when he could likely meet me at my daughter's home to begin the work. I really appreciate how he kept me informed as his day progressed. Hardt's prices seem fair for the quality and extent of work performed (3 hours of work plus parts), and I would certainly use Todd for future electrical services. He has my highest recommendation.

Todd failed to show up for our scheduled appointment. While the time was not set in stone, Todd was scheduled to come out and complete my job sometime between mid-morning and 2pm. Todd failed to call me at 9am that morning (as he had assured me he would) to update me on the status of his first morning appointment. (Note - this is not the first time he failed to call me when he said he would). When I reached out to him at 10am, he informed me it was unlikely he would be able to make our appointment that day. When I told Todd I found that unacceptable given that I had taken the day off of work for this, he suggested that we "set up an appointment" for him to come out another day. While I realize it may be difficult to schedule a specific appointment time in his line of work, I was under the impression that mid-morning to 2pm on October 2 qualified as an appointment worthy of Todd's attendance. I ultimately went with another provider who was responsive showed up to our scheduled appointment.

Answered the phone when I called. Friendly. I gave him the details and he gave me a rough estimate. Arrived promptly at scheduled time. Performed work well. Estimate was good- exactly in the range I was expecting. I'll definitely use them again next time I need electrical work!

Todd was awesome. He showed up 15 minutes early (5:45am) and was working at 6. Everything looks great, Todd was super professional and he cleaned everything up when he was done. We will be calling Hardt Electric next time we need electrical work done for sure.

superior work by TODD . he spotted things i did not see. he also gave several tips and some extra help. best of all i did not burn my house down. call these folks for peace of mind .

Todd will be my first call of electrical problems.
