He arrived on time and installed the chandelier. Explained what he was doing, was professional, prompt, and I felt he worked at a good pace. Just what you hope when someone shows up at your house.

His work was excellent and he was such a friendly and courteous guy. He has years of experience in his profession and it shows. I recommend Hardt Electric very highly!

Todd was amazing. He called 5 minutes after i put in a request and was able to come out the next day. He was professional and explained everything that needed to be done. We are experienced home owners and had the pleasure of dealing with all kinds of contractors so we know a good one when we see him. We will definitely use him again! Todd is a gem!

Todd was awesome. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. We don't have a garage and our parking space isn't right up against the house so there was a little bit of creative problem solving with where to put the EVSE. We also didn't have any space in our panel for a new breaker but he suggested using the common breaker which we got approval for. Made things much easier and cheaper. He initially came out to help us figure out how and where we could install it, then promptly followed up a few days later to do the job. It was a warm(ish) winter day and he spent most of the time getting rained on by the melting snow above the landing without any complaint. Everything has been working top notch.

The entire job went really well. Todd was extremely professional and very helpful with a challenging install. Our foyer is almost 20' high and a really large glass fixture had to be removed first. He completed the work quickly and safely. I contacted Hardt based on their reviews and was not disappointed. My first call was answered very quickly, an appointment was made within a week and costs were clearly reviewed. Todd was on time and after seeing the job was spot on with a way to handle the challenges. It was obvious he has a lot of experience working in old homes. It can be really tough finding quality electrical contractors and I'm really pleased to have them on my "A" list. I will definitely have Hardt quote my next project!

I needed to have a few maintenance items taken care of as a result of a home inspection, so I called Todd at Hardt Electric based on comments from Angie's list. I couldn't have been more pleased. Todd answered the phone immediately and made arrangements for a service call the following day. He is both personable and extremely professional. He carefully listened to what the issues were and asked good questions to make sure we were in agreement. He had already advised me of his hourly rate and proceeded to work both quickly and efficiently. Knowing that I was looking to sell my condo, he went out of his way to suggest switch covers and other materials that would make any repairs look seamless. Some supplies needed to be purchased, which he took care of and returned the following day to complete the installation. I'm delighted to have found someone I would consider to be my 'go-to' electrician for any issues that may arise with my current residence or any new ones. I would recommend him highly.

Awesome electrician (Todd) was really cool, very helpful (As far as providing energy savings solutions) and went above and beyond, very easy to communicate. I had to run to home depot to get something (I bought the wrong thing) and trusted him.

We were attempting to get service on an electrical problem we were experiencing over the holiday weekend. We placed a call to Hardt and received a call back very quickly. Todd was very gracious and helpful in talking us through the problem and what the possible solutions could be. Although we scheduled a service call appointment we eventually solved the problem without a service call. We will definitely call Todd again should the need arise.

We bought a house and found out that one ground-floor room did not have anything on the ceiling - no fan, no chandelier, no lamp, nothing. And we wanted something. It was going to be harder than if there weren't a room above, and we wanted a licensed electrician to do everything properly and according to code. Todd was very responsive, accommodating and flexible with scheduling, courteous and professional. It was clear that he had loads of experience and has been doing this work for a long time. He explained well what had to be done and why, and did a good job with the installation. Everything went well - no problems, no issues.

Todd Connaughton came to the house to help with a light fixture that had some bad wiring and to fix some switches. Our overall experience, from initial contact to completion (same day) was nothing short of excellent. Todd is a great guy and took much extra care to ensure the job was done correctly and to our satisfaction. Todd was excellent: knowledgeable, prompt and professional. He explained what he was doing, and offered suggestions on different ways to approach it. Our furnaces stopped working, and he figured out it was from an electrical problem, which he fixed. I would use them again in the future.

I had two cracked outlets, one of which was in the kitchen and needed to be replaced with a GFI outlet. I had made an appointment with Todd for a Tuesday, but he called me Friday morning to say he had an opening early that afternoon and asked if I wanted to move up my appointment, which worked out really well for me. He was able to text me when he was on his way so I knew about when to expect him; he arrived about when I expected. He had the replacement outlets on hand, and he was efficient, proficient and professional. He even went the extra mile in having to cut some glass tile to fit the new outlet, as it took a little extra effort but he was able to do it neatly. When done, he made sure he cleaned up and discarded all the old pieces and boxes. Once he was done with the outlets, I also asked Todd to replace an ugly old light fixture in my living room with a new track light, and he was able to get that in quickly and easily. He asked for a broom and dustpan to clean up the very minor refuse, but it wasn't necessary as I had planned on sweeping and dusting the whole floor anyway. When I first scheduled the service, he immediately told me by phone what the service charge would be and estimated that what I needed done would probably take a couple of hours, and that was exactly what it took. (It probably would have taken a little less time if not for the hard-to-cut glass tiles). Todd was really very pleasant, and explained things along the way; I never felt like he was talking down to me. I'm not really sure whether the service charge was "standard," but it didn't really matter - I definitely felt like I got my money's worth. I was VERY pleased with the service and would call them again in a minute!

Todd's instructions were spot on and I had no problems getting the circuit to work again. I truly appreciated the unbelievably fast turnaround and the detailed instructions he provided to fix the problem, especially since I had never been a customer before. I will, most definitely, be a customer in the future.

Scheduling the appointment was easy. Todd was very responsive and informative. He confirmed the appointment the day before and then called when he was on his way. Really nice guy. He quickly completed all of the projects and everything is working great. We will call him again and highly recommend him.

Spoke to Todd after contacting him via Angies List. Todd informed me that he was very busy but would call on Monday!. Todd called back on Monday monring as promised and arranged to swing by that afternoon. My wife was at home when Todd arrived, all jobs were completed to a high standard. I would absolutely hire Todd for any future work.

There were some initial problems with scheduling - a canceled appointment for the initial visit because Todd had been out late the prior night on an emergency service call. Not ideal, but we were understanding given the circumstance. We got that straightened out and on the follow-up call, Todd was responsive and on-time. I initially thought that Todd was coming to give an estimate and merely assess the job. However, he arrived ready-to-go and given the simplicity of the work and cost involved, we were fine with going forward with it right away. The project was completed quickly and exactly as desired. My biggest concern was that since this was going to be in a finished basement, there would be a decent amount of drywall cutout and it would then have to be repaired and repainted. I was expecting it. Todd actually did all the work without having to cut any drywall other than the squares for the outlets and the cable feed-throughs. There was no drywall repair needed, which was greatly appreciated. Todd also re-routed a cable TV coax cable coming in through out foundation from the outside to a different location closer to the new outlets which will aid in future TV hookups. The last thing I would mention is that Todd was very friendly and engaging with our five-year old son, explaining the different things he was doing and showing him the tools he was using. All in all, we were very satisfied with the work done and would consider Todd and Hardt Electric for future work.

Todd was our electrician. Everything went well and job was completed as expected. However, we originally thought this would be a $300-$400 job that could be finished in a few hours.. but it came to over $700 Pros - On Time - Explained the issues and steps needed to move wiring boxes Cons - $137 per hour for five hours seemed like a lot to move two fixtures.. - The electrician had to go out to his truck quite a few times (15 mins per trip since we are in an elevator building) and was taking calls to discuss other jobs and schedule other appointments while on the clock with us. Seems like a call service or part time scheduler should be used since hourly rates are so high

I'm in the process of redoing my basement, the workers took down a wall and found that the electrical could not be moved to where it was needed. I was at work and had to quickly find an electrician to come over and move the outlets. I called six electrician companies with Angie's gold star from Angieslist. One was four weeks out, one said he would call me in 30 minutes and never did, one had no one till next Tuesday, and two others never called back and Hardt Electric came through. I called and Todd answered, asked me what the problem was and I explained my situation. He told me he was currently on a service call in Joliet, however, if that service call was completed within enough time, he would be able to come over. Well, he called me and said he was on his way. I left work and made it just one minute before he pulled into my driveway. Todd, was very polite, professional and knowledgeable. I showed him the problem as well as the rest of the basement and together we found a couple of other things that needed attention. He never tried to sell me anything nor talk down to me if I was not interested in a solution. Todd, jumped in, worked with the workers to get the wall down and changed the outlets, wiring, and added new boxes. I was looking for a new electrician and I believe I have found him. Am now looking into a house surge protector and the installation of canned lights for the basement. It was great to have found someone who was able to help me today and who was so good natured, knowledgeable and such a great worker.

Called quickly and able to come in very early. Ended up not needing service as we fixed issue ourselves.

1) completed in minutes 2) uncovered hidden gas pipe & badly worn wiring; found fixture to fit & repaired wiring before installing fixture; fixture provides better light than old one did 3) installed conduit and outlet, which involved a cut to outside wall, thereby removing need for extension cord 4) found & installed necessary parts; fan now draws much better and more quietlyl 5) determined that existing wiring would not suppport new light fixture or exhaust fan All work was done with great precision, organization, and neatness; Mr. Connaughton worked quickly & efficiently. He notified me when he was able to work several days sooner than originally planned, so as to replace missing light/fan. He cleaned up all items & refuse.
