Gustavo Fragoso General Construction

My not-for-profit organization hired Fragoso as the general contractor on a major commercial renovation project directing multiple trades and working with the City of Chicago building codes. As in any large project there were the unexpected delays and change orders, but Fragoso work closely with us and eventually we got over the finish line. We also contracted with Fragoso to address city building code matters which we were once again satisfied with the work and timeliness of the project.

After having horrible experiences with other contractors, we discovered Gustavo about 6 years ago when he left us a postcard advertising his business. We've progressed from small jobs to much larger ones over the years and have always been happy with his work. He's retiled our bathroom walls and put in a new floor, hung cabinets, done some work on our roof, and repaired water-damaged plaster walls & ceilings. We intend to hire him later this year to install hardwood floors in the back half of our house (kitchen, breakfast area, family room), remove a closet, replace all the trim, add crown molding, and build a bookcase/entertainment center. He gutted our neighbor's kitchen and family room - it looks fantastic! We've worked with Gustavo many times,and it's always been a pleasure. He almost always picks up my calls but be warned, his English is somewhat limited. He doesn't always respond to voice mail messages, which I assume is related to his not understanding them well. He runs his business fairly casually (quotes are pretty informal) but he's always been more than fair, completed the jobs in a timely manner, and been very trustworthy. His prices are very reasonable.
