+ 0 moreReally friendly, helpful, great service. During heavy snow earlier this winter the snowplow damaged a plastic box containing my garden supplies. Gus Herrera & Sons replaced it without question. Oscar even came out on a weeknight and assembled the replacement box. Additionally, whenever it snows, our place is always the best plowed/shoveled/salted property on the block. Thank you!

+ 0 moreI have used Gus Herrera & Sons Landscaping for years. They are prompt, efficient, they do a good job, and they clean up after themselves. Their price is good. It is like $15 a week. How are you going to find someone who is going to mow your lawn, rake, and clean up after themselves for $15 a week. I would give them an A+ overall.
Description of Work: I use Gus Herrera & Sons Landscaping. The took care of my lawn. They fertilize the lawn and all that.

+ 0 moreThe workers were prompt and punctual but destroyed our yard and mowed away to dirt...what little grass we had. The workers spoke no english and when we complained to management, nothing was done to rectify the situation.

+ 1 moreThey are good with grass and lawns, but if you want any perennials around flower beds, they are not the best group to use. We were not happy or pleased with our flowers at all. Perennials take a little work.
Description of Work: They came out, mowed and fertilized, and worked the soil around the perennials. They did not plant anything in our planters or take good care of the perennials during the season.

+ -1 moreUnreliable - did not even have the courtesy to follow up and tell me status after telling me they would. Would not recommend them given how much of my time they wasted without following up.
Description of Work: Did paver work last year. This year, I asked them to come back for more major landscaping work. They came and spent time with me to go over the landscaping work that needed to be done. Promised to get back with an estimate etc but never called back. After calling them twice and them committing to come with the estimate, they never did. Completely unreliable.

+ 0 moreI called the company for an estimate for spring clean up and possible removal and replacement of two shrubs in the front yard. We also wanted an estimate to remove the grass from a shady area at the back of the building and replace the grass with ground cover. Oscar was prompt in returning my call. He came out the next morning so I could explain what we wanted. He was on time for our meeting; very nice and professional. I received a detailed written estimate within a week. Our condo association also had two other estimates from other landscaping companies. Gus Herrera & Sons was not the lowest estimate, but it was the most detailed and professional of the three which is why the condo association agreed to hire them. They did a good job with the spring clean up. The condo association has decided to leave the shrubs in the front of the building for now with possible replacement in the fall. Gus Herrera & Sons accepts payment for their services after the work is completed.
Description of Work: We hired them to do a spring clean up of our condo building front & back yard. They cleaned the debris from the ground cover under the shrubs in the front yard. They cut the grass and applied fertilizer to the grass. They swept the walkways and cleaned around the shrubs and the area near the front door. They disposed of all of the debris. They are still to apply fertilizer to the grass in June and again in September. They are to apply grub control in August. They are scheduled to remove grass from a shady area at the back of the building and replace the grass with ground cover after the weather warms up. The plan is for them to roto-till the soil, amend the soil with compost, add starter fertilizer to the area and plant ground cover. They have instructed us to water the new plants on a regular basis until they are established.

+ 0 moreWe needed sod and mulch for upkeep on our condo building. Their quote was the best we received and additionally, when we had trouble with our sod, they redid it without complaint or added cost. They are wonderful to work with! We are thrilled with how nice it has turned out.
